New York :
An investigation by the Ecuadorian Football Federation attempts to determine the nationality of defender Byron Castillo, who militates in the Barcelona of Guayaquil, and about which it is suspected of being of Colombian origin.
According to the investigation carried out by the director of the FEF, Jaime Jara, the evidence indicates that Castillo acted as an Ecuadorian with false documents and claims to have proof that the 20-year-old footballer was born in the Colombian town of Tumaco, bordering Ecuador.

The manager specified the new details in an interview with the radio station Mach Deportes in the Ecuadorian capital. Jara assured that he has submitted all the documentation to the FEF Disciplinary Commission so that punish the player for acting on altered documents or false.
The manager insisted that Castillo is Colombian because he has documents from the Colombian civil registry in the town of Tumaco, so it will be the Disciplinary Commission that will determine an eventual sanction to the player, who according to the manager has the legitimate right to defend himself.

Castle has become one of the important figures of Barcelona, with which he won the title last year and has started as a starter in the current season. Investigations into Castillo’s nationality come several years, Nevertheless, the FEF authorized him in 2019 as an Ecuadorian, although he also warned that he could reopen the investigation if necessary.
For his part, player entrepreneur Marco Zambrano assured a local station in 2018 that Castillo up to that point had been investigated six times and that the Ecuadorian Civil Registry validated his information on two occasions.

Watch Phil Foden’s no-look finish to drag Man City level against Villa as Pep leads praise
PHIL FODEN added a new trick to his dazzling array of talents with a no-look finish as he earned his biggest praise yet from Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola.
England creator Foden sparked City's 2-1 comeback win at Aston Villa with the sumptuous finale to a brilliant team move before both sides had a player sent off.

Keeper Ederson delivered a long pass and Foden was involved in the resulting slick interplay that led to he himself slotting home.
But the most remarkable aspect was the way he kept his eyes out on the right-wing, from where the ball came, yet still guided it low and precise past Villa keeper Emiliano Martinez.
And so good was Foden's overall performance that Guardiola now believes the 20-year-old can dictate matches for the runaway Premier League leaders as one of their key men.
Guardiola said: "He's growing. He's making steps forward and his influence on our game is massive right now.
"He is becoming a serious player. The players dictate who they are on the pitch.
"In the last games especially, he is becoming a really important player."
And Sky Sports pundit Jamie Redknapp was even more glowing in his tribute.
The former Liverpool and England midfielder said: "He is amazing.
