Rep. Devin Nunes (R-CA) praised Breitbart News Editor in Chief Alex Marlow’s Breaking the News: Exposing the Establishment Media’s Hidden Deals and Secret Corruption for exposing news media “criminality” and “defamation.”

In the latest edition of his eponymous podcast published Monday, Nunes interviewed Marlow about the findings of Breaking the News.

He said he would urge his Republican colleagues to read the book.

“I highly recommend this to all my colleagues,” Nunes said. “In fact, if I’m going talk to a lot of them about your book because you really put everything that all of us have experienced over the last five years, you put it into one definitive piece that really highlights the criminality — and I say that it really is criminal and against the law — what these media outlets have been doing. It’s every day, massive levels of defamation, and you really call them out.”

Republicans undermine legitimate news media outlets by engaging with and speaking to corrupt leftist operations, Nunes determined. Good faith politicians doing interviews with left-wing news media take attention away from those he said undertake “real reporting.”

Nunes remarked:

Not only do we not need [leftist news media], any time you actually do interviews with that 95 percent [of news media that are left-wing], you’re taking away viewers from watching [real reporting], whether it’s my podcast, or your radio show that you have in the morning, or a lot of the great videos that Breitbart does, or a whole host of other people.

It’s just completely asinine that any Republicans talk to these news media outlets. It’s kind of funny. I’ll kind of corner them, and they kind of smirk or kind of chuckle about it, but it’s not a joke. You’re really aiding the enemy.

Under no circumstance should you ever be talking to the Russia pee tape hoaxers. No Republican — anybody who was, who was caught up in that — should never talk to one of those damn reporters ever.

Many news media outlets present left-wing political infomercials and propaganda as news, Marlow observed. He speculated whether such operations should be considered political donations.

“I think [these] are clear soft money contributions that these news outlets are making,” he stated. “It’s very clear. The people funding these outlets are funding the Democrat candidates, and it’s just an amazing thing that they figured out a way to have unlimited earned media for their chosen candidates.”

Marlow added, “That’s what we’re talking about with oligopolies. These news outlets are owned by these major conglomerates. Their boards are filled with these big corporate globalists, and it’s just the sort of thing that I don’t think is sustainable in this country.”

Nunes lauded Breaking the News as a “fabulous book.”

“I highly recommend it,” Nunes said of Breaking the News. “[Marlow] has been with Breitbart [News] since the beginning, was a friend of Andrew Breitbart’s, and he gets into some of that history in the book. But what’s really great about this book is he goes through and completely destroys — and I think with a funny way — the fake news over the last several years.”

In Leaked CNN Interview, Rep. Ocasio-Cortez Says She Thought She Faced Rape At Capitol Riot

  • Clips of a leaked CNN interview published by Project Veritas show Democratic New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez saying she thought she was going to be raped at the Capitol Riot.
  • Project Veritas Founder James O’Keefe said in a video message that YouTube had removed Project Veritas’s video, saying it “contains content from Turner CNN, who has blocked it on copyright grounds.”
  • A CNN source said the leaked clips are not from an unaired documentary but rather from a piece still being edited and slated to air on television. The source characterized the Project Veritas video as an “annoyance but a non-scandal.”

Clips of a leaked CNN interview published by Project Veritas show Democratic New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez saying she thought she was going to be raped at the Capitol Riot.

In the video clip published by Project Veritas Tuesday, Ocasio-Cortez told CNN’s Dana Bash that she is a survivor of sexual assault, noting that she has not “told many people that.” Project Veritas’ source believed CNN would air the interview in August, spokesman Mario Balaban told the Daily Caller News Foundation.

The New York Democrat previously announced in February to her nine million Instagram followers that she is a survivor of sexual assault, arguing that those who say it is time to move on from the Capitol Riot are “using the same tactics of every other abuser who just tells you to move on.” (RELATED: ‘Alexandria Ocasio Smollett’ Trends As Critics Punch Holes In Her Dramatic Cap Hill Story)

“For a lot of [sexual assault] survivors across the country, the decision to come forward oftentimes does not feel like a conscious one,” Ocasio-Cortez told Bash, according to the video. “That impact was doubled that day because of the misogyny and the racism that was so deeply rooted and animated — that attack on the Capitol, you know, white supremacy and patriarchy are very linked in a lot of ways. There’s a lot of sexualizing of that violence.”

She continued: “And I didn’t think that I was just going to be killed. I thought other things were going to happen to me as well.

“It sounds like what you’re didn’t only think that you were going to die, you thought you were going to be raped,” Bash said in the interview.

“Yeah,” Ocasio-Cortez responded. She did not respond to requests for comment from the Daily Caller News Foundation.  (RELATED: Ocasio-Cortez Describes Hiding In Her Bathroom During Riot, Questions Whether Officer Purposefully Put Her At Risk)

A CNN source said the leaked clips are not from an unaired documentary but rather from a piece still being edited slated to air on television. The source characterized the Project Veritas video as an “annoyance but a non-scandal.”

“This is journalism,” Balaban said when pressed about why Project Veritas would publish a leaked CNN interview early. “When people leak information the public deserves to know, Project Veritas will publish it.”

The bigger question, according to Balaban, is why someone in CNN felt compelled to leak the footage early.

“Clearly they thought it looked like a puff piece,” he said. “CNN was clearly framing a certain way. Someone obviously felt compelled to let Project Veritas break the story so the public could know what the story really is.”

Project Veritas Founder James O’Keefe said in a video message that YouTube had removed the leaked CNN video Tuesday, saying it “contains content from Turner CNN, who has blocked it on copyright grounds.” YouTube did not immediately respond to a request for comment from the DCNF.

WATCH:

“This is just another example of collusion between big media and big tech,” O’Keefe said. “They would never do this if CNN was publishing stuff from within Project Veritas. There would be no copy right issues. We are publishing things we think the public has a right to know, about a member of Congress, talking to Dana Bash. We made it our own, we didn’t publish the whole thing, we only published minutes of it, we have a duty to do that.”

Project Veritas is currently suing CNN for defamation, alleging that CNN news anchor Ana Cabrera defamed Project Veritas in February by suggesting that Project Veritas’s Twitter account was suspended for “promoting misinformation.”
