The Washington State dad accused of killing his daughter's boyfriend after he allegedly sold her into a sex-trafficking ring may not be telling truth, cops said, as the dead man's family claimed the murder suspect is no 'hero.' John Eisenman, 60, has been charged with first-degree murder and is being held on a $1 million bond at Spokane County Jail in the grisly murder of Andrew Sorensen, 19, who was repeatedly stabbed to death before his rotting body was found hidden  in the trunk of an abandoned car last month.  Cpl. Nick Briggs, a spokesperson for the Spokane Police Department, said the allegations of Sorensen's involvement in sex trafficking are coming solely from Eisenman. 'We can't corroborate the veracity of any of those statements,' Briggs told The Spokesman-Review. Eisenman's underage daughter is not being identified because she was possible a victim of sex trafficking. She now resides in California, records show.  Sorensen's parents say their son, who was born with autism and cerebral palsy, is being demonized by Eisenman and his family. His parents adopted him out of foster care...

Tell us about that. CHEYENNE MCCOLLUM: I wouldn’t say I necessarily stayed to meet him. I stayed to support Rylee’s wife because I didn’t want her to sit alone and she wanted the chance to look him in the eye, so I sat beside her to do that as well. I stayed and when he came up to us, about 15 seconds in I had to walk away. It was so insincere. He didn’t look us in the eye, he gave her a pat on the knee and said, “I know what you’re going through, I lost my son.” He didn’t lose his son serving. FINNERTY: What...
Dear Amy: I moved to a new state two years ago. My neighbor and I have become friendly and have visited in each other’s houses. Amy Dickinson  A few weeks ago, she plainly informed me that she would not be inviting my husband and me into her house, nor would she come into our house, because my adult son is not vaccinated against COVID. Our son visits once a week. He had COVID last year and believes the antibodies will protect him. We’ve had many discussions about the vaccine, but I can’t convince him to get it. He does mask and hardly goes anywhere, except to work. I will still let him visit. Apparently, my neighbor does not agree it’s safe. I respect her boundaries. However, I do feel a little hurt. So it is on you to tell me.’ Paula Knauss is demanding someone take accountability for the 13 deaths in the Kabul suicide bombing and said Biden...

An Illinois mother says a judge stripped her of custody of her son earlier this month because she is not vaccinated against COVID-19. During a child support hearing on Aug. 10, Cook County Judge James Shapiro asked Rebecca Firlit, 39, whether she is vaccinated against COVID-19. After learning that Firlit did not receive this vaccine, Shapiro barred her from seeing her 11-year-old son, according to Fox 32. “I miss my son more than anything. It’s been very difficult. I haven’t seen him since August 10th,” Firlit told Fox 32. For seven years, Firlit shared custody of her child with her ex-husband, the mother’s attorney, Annette Fernholz, told the Chicago Sun-Times. Firlit’s ex-husband did not ask the judge to consider Firlit’s vaccination status, and the judge’s decision surprised even the father’s attorney. “The father did not even bring this issue before the court,” Fernholz told The Washington Post. “So it’s the judge on his own and making this decision that you can’t see your child until you’re vaccinated.” Annette Fernholz, attorney for Rebecca Firlit. PILSEN — A mother in Pilsen can see her 11-year-old son again after a Cook County judge reversed his order that had suspended her visitation because she isn’t vaccinated against COVID-19. Attorney Annette Fernholz, who represents Rebecca Firlit, confirmed the reversal Monday morning. Earlier this month, Judge James Shapiro revoked Rebecca Firlit’s custody. During a virtual meeting, Shapiro had asked Firlit whether she was vaccinated against the coronavirus. She told him she had had adverse reactions to vaccines in the past and was advised against getting the vaccine, the Chicago Sun-Times reported. The original order would have stripped Firlit of custody until she was vaccinated. In the order’s aftermath, she was only allowed to speak with her son by phone.  On Monday morning, Annette Fernholz, attorney for Firlit, said they filed a “petition for leave to appeal, but she received an order from Judge Shapiro vacating portions of his previous order.” Firlit shares custody with her husband. “I talk to him every day. He cries, he misses me. I send him care packages,” Firlitt told the Sun-Times of...
