CHELSEA’S Ross Barkley is on Burnley’s radar for an emergency swoop in January. The midfielder is only getting limited game time at Stamford Bridge and could be available for loan in the next window. 1Ross Barkley has failed to win Thomas Tuchel over fully at Chelsea and could be heading for the exit doorCredit: Getty Barkley, 27, was on Sean Dyche’s radar in the summer. But there was no encouragement from the player’s end so soon after a return from a loan at Aston Villa. Burnley are prepared to pay a chunk of his massive salary for half a season to help them out of the drop zone. And unless Chelsea are hit by an injury crisis, Barkley seems sure to be available. The Blues signed Barkley from Everton in January 2018. However, the 33-cap England international has struggled to nail down a regular spot in the team. NEWCASTLE have been urged to bring Jose Mourinho BACK to the Premier League by former Leeds right-back Danny Mills. The 44-year-old says the former Chelsea, Manchester United and Tottenham boss would guide the Magpies 'to success'. 2Mills thinks Mourinho should replace BruceCredit: GETTY IMAGES Mourinho has experience in winning titles in England, collecting League, domestic and European titles. The Special One, despite taking a job at Roma in the summer, is being linked with a return to the Premier League to replace Steve Bruce, who could be on his way out of Newcastle. Mills said on talkSPORT (via the Mirror): "If you're talking about being given money to build a team and be relatively successful, I'd go with Mourinho. "If you give Jose enough money and allow him to do what he wants to do, he will guide you to success quicker than probably anyone else. "Newcastle can go slowly and survive this season, next season finish in the top half, then top six. "But If they want to jump from survival to top four, I don’t see anyone better...
Just imagine what else lurks in those 650,000 emails. Surely the racism and misogyny and homophobia weren’t a Jon Gruden exclusive. But the NFL, instead of thoroughly addressing what is likely just the tip of a very toxic iceberg, hopes we’ll all just meekly accept Grudengate as the end of it. Move along, everyone. Nothing more to see here. We’re expected to go along with the ludicrous notion that a yearlong probe into the Washington Football Team wasn’t worthy of issuing an actual report or deserves any further examination, even though we’ve now learned another team’s disgraced coach memorialized in emails all the horrible things that were swirling around in his head. (Not to mention, we got a couple of juicy tidbits about an ESPN reporter and the NFL’s top lawyer getting a little too cozy with the team’s ex-president.) No doubt, it cuts a much wider, more embarrassing path than that, but the NFL seems intent on protecting one of its own — reviled WFT owner Dan Snyder — and keeping its “investigation” firmly sealed before anyone it really...

Aaron Rodgers or Russell Wilson? EX-CHELSEA defender Frank Lebeouf warns fans it is 'almost impossible' for the club win the Champions League again this season. The Blues won their second ever Champions League trophy in May, overcoming Manchester City 1-0 in Porto thanks to a goal from Kai Havertz. 2Lebeouf won six trophies in his five year stint at the clubCredit: Times Newspapers Ltd But former Chelsea centre-back Lebeouf, 53, has warned the club not to get their hopes up again, suggesting they were 'lucky' to win last year. Lebeouf told Labrokes: "A failure for a big club like Chelsea, Liverpool or both from Manchester is to win nothing. "I'm not sure if any of the fans of those four clubs would be happy with just the Carabao Cup.  "The club doesn't care about it and the fans don't care about it, what they want is at least the FA Cup, if not the Premier League or Champions League. "Only one team can win each competition, though, and Chelsea have been lucky enough to win the Champions League last season but it was kind of...
Getty Bryce Alford Bryce Alford has some deep connections on the Chicago Bulls roster, and that might explain why the team signed the 26-year-old to a non-guaranteed training camp deal on Wednesday, per Keith Smith of Spotrac: The Chicago Bulls have signed Bryce Alford to a non-guaranteed training camp contract. — Keith Smith (@KeithSmithNBA) October 13, 2021 How deep are Alford’s connections with the Bulls’ organization? While he has never played a regular season game in the NBA, Alford did spend three seasons with the Oklahoma City Thunder G-League squad from 2017-19 where he had some contact with Bulls head coach Billy Donovan while he was there. Alford, is also the son of former Indiana University star and current Nevada Wolfpack head coach Steve Alford. In addition to his G-League experience, Alford also spent time playing overseas in Germany and Portugal. In college, Alford was a part of the same freshman class as Zach LaVine. As a senior, he started in the backcourt with Lonzo Ball when the latter was a freshman. As I said, the connections run...
The NFL is facing increased demands from the players' union and attorneys representing former Washington Football Team employees to release the findings of its 10-month investigation into sexual harassment and hostile workplace allegations against club. The league has, thus far, refused to release any material from its investigation, citing confidentiality concerns. Leaked emails from the probe resulted in Jon Gruden stepping down as Las Vegas Raiders head coach on Monday. Gruden, who was an ESPN television analyst when the emails were sent between 2011 and 2018, wrote racist, misogynistic and homophobic insults about league figures in the messages to then-WFT executive Bruce Allen. The emails were gathered as part of an investigation of the WFT after former employees made allegations about sexual harassment and other workplace misconduct. The club, which is valued in the billions, was fined $10 million by the NFL and owner Dan Snyder stepped away from day-to-day operations for a period of months, but there was no written report of lawyer Beth Wilkinson's inquiry. Eighteen former NBA players were arrested and charged Thursday for defrauding the league’s health and welfare benefit plan. Most basketball fans were stunned by the bombshell report, but not Daily Show host Trevor Noah. “Why are we surprised?” Noah said on his Comedy Central show. “Pretending to be hurt is a huge part of playing in the NBA.” The unfazed comedian went on to argue defrauding the league isn’t even the worst example of dishonesty from an ex-hooper. “Once you retire, you gotta make money somehow,” Noah explained. “I mean what’s more dishonest – stealing money from the health fund or Shaq claiming that Papa John’s is good pizza?” Noah isn’t alone in his Papa John’s assessment, even O’Neal’s former NBA teammate Robert Horry recently blasted the four-time champion for his Shaq-a-Roni pizza, complaining it “was cold and wasn’t good.” After critiquing Papa John’s, Noah highlighted an unexpected benefit of the arrests. If jail time is in store for any of the charged former NBA players, the basketball talent behind bars will get a big boost. “It’s gonna be great...
