Air fares are set to soar just in time for the holiday season, as jet fuel pries rise to pre-pandemic levels, the United Airlines CEO warned on Wednesday.  Jet fuel prices are already up more than 100 percent compared to just one year ago, CNBC reports, with the price per gallon set at $2.3282 on Tuesday.  But Scott Kirby, the CEO of United Airlines, said that the prices may go up even further. He forecasted an average fuel cost of $2.39 a gallon in the fourth quarter of the year, as United expects a surge in bookings for the holiday season. 'You know I think in the longer term, it's always been the case at an airline that jet fuel prices go up, usually because demand is strong - and that's going to be true again,' Kirby told the hosts of CNBC's Squawk on the Street on Wednesday. 'Higher jet fuel prices lead to higher ticket prices,' he said. 'Ultimately, we'll pass that through.'   United's competitor, Delta Airlines, last week warned that more expensive fuel would eat at its bottom...

"I feel fit, I feel healthy and I'm back in full training now, so it's good. It's good for me. "I've done quite a few sessions with the lads now, I feel fit enough to play. President Joe Biden said he would be using a pre-approved list of reporters to call on Wednesday at a press conference following his meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin. Biden, while looking for reporters to call on during his press conference, said, “I’ll take your questions, and as usual, folks, they gave me a list of the people I’m going to call on.” When Biden previously used similar lines to this, the “they” he refers to is the staff on his communications team. Following this incident, as Biden started to leave the press conference he snapped at CNN’s White House reporter Kaitlan Collins. Collins asked if Biden was confident that Putin would change his behavior. He snapped back at her, saying, “I’m not confident that he will change his behavior. What the hell? What do you do all the time?” He added, “When did I say I was confident?” Breitbart News reported last weekend Biden was also caught using a pre-approved list of reporters. During another press conference, he expressed concern he would “get in trouble” if he called on reporters his...

Pre-K through fourth-grade students in Manassas City Public Schools will have the option to return to hybrid in-person learning starting March 23, but the school board Tuesday night once again declined to set any timetable for the return of older students. For those general population students from lower grades whose guardians choose to send them to school, in-person learning will start twice per week beginning March 23. Career and technical education programs will start March 15 and other school-dependent learners will be back March 17. But a vote to bring middle and high school students back starting April 6 failed 4-3. No replacement plan for getting those older students back into classrooms before the end of the school year was discussed, though a small number of special education and English-language learners have been receiving limited in-person instruction since the fall. At their last meeting two weeks ago, the board indicated a willingness to bring students back even earlier, with...
SAN ANTONIO – Test results indicate that no other COVID-19 cases exist among students at the East Education Center, Pre-K 4 SA officials announced on Tuesday. The announcement of no additional student cases follows Monday’s announcement that no other staff members were infected with the virus, Pre-K 4 SA officials said. However, one staff member’s test results are still pending, and they will remain in quarantine until their results are released. On Sunday, Pre K 4 SA officials announced that four staff members and one student at the East Education Center had tested positive for COVID-19. The center will reopen on Wednesday, Oct. 28. Pre-K 4 SA official said classrooms that were not impacted will welcome teachers and children back for in-person learning. Teachers and children with a positive test result will self-quarantine for 14 days and continue with remote learning during that time period. Sarah Baray, CEO of Pre-K 4 SA, said the center continues to take the spread of COVID-19 “very seriously.” “We are happy to report that no additional children or staff have tested positive,” Baray said....
SAN ANTONIO – No additional staff members at the Pre-K 4 SA East Education Center have tested positive for COVID-19, officials said. Pre-K 4 SA CEO Sarah Baray said the testing information will determine what the next will be at the campus. “We are happy to learn that no additional staff have tested positive and are hopeful the same will be true for children," Baray said. “We will continue to consult with Metro Health as we work through our protocols designed to keep children, families and staff safe.” Related: Pre-K 4 SA closes East Education Center after 4 staff members, 1 student test positive for COVID-19 Copyright 2020 by KSAT - All rights reserved.
SAN ANTONIO – Four staff members and one student have tested positive for COVID-19 at Pre-K 4 SA’s East Education Center, school officials announced Sunday. Due to the new positive cases, the East Education Center will be closed until further notice and students will transition to remote learning this week. “Out of an abundance of caution, we are closing the Pre-K 4 SA East Education center and transitioning all classes to remote learning effective Monday October 26th,” said Pre-K 4 SA CEO Dr. Sarah Baray, in a statement. LOS ANGELES (CBSLA) — Schools can apply starting on Tuesday for a waiver that allows them to resume in-person classes for Pre-K through second-grade students. Up to 30 schools per week can receive waivers and schools with the highest number of students who depend on school-provided lunches will be prioritized. “All students are entitled to a free and appropriate education. For many of our students most at risk, distance learning is neither free nor appropriate,” said Supervisor Kathryn Barger said last week. “It is critical that we begin the process of reopening our schools at limited capacity (and) slowly bring students, teachers and staff back to campus.” Approval from parents, teachers, staff and the public health officer is required for the waiver to take effect. Tyrod Taylor missed his start against Kansas City due to a punctured lung. The Los Angeles Chargers were planning to roll out Tyrod Taylor as the starting quarterback against the Kansas City Chiefs, but a mysterious chest injury minutes before kickoff led to Justin Herbert being named the starter in his stead. We finally have some clarity as to what happened last Sunday, and it is unexpected and unusual, to say the least. Taylor was going to play against the Chiefs with a flak jacket due to his cracked ribs, but he suffered a punctured lung after the team doctor tried to administer a pain-killing injection in his ribs right before kickoff.
