Brooke Shields is no stranger to controversy. At just 11 months old, she starred in a soap advert and her career quickly blossomed as a child star. But at age 11, she famously played a child prostitute in 1978’s "Pretty Baby" where she was filmed naked. In the movie, Shields’ character grows up in a brothel and is auctioned off to the highest bidder. Previously as a 10-year-old, her mother Teri Shields, who also served as the star's manager, commissioned photographer Gary Gross to shoot nude pics of Shields for the Playboy publication Sugar’n’Spice. The momager faced backlash for allowing her daughter to take on such racy roles, but it wouldn’t be the last time. It depends. "In 1977, probably," the actress told The Guardian on Monday. "Now, I don’t know if...
Charles Barkley plans to retire from giving brash opinions on TV in two years, but don’t expect the basketball Hall-of-Famer to bring his hot takes to Twitter. During a preview for an interview on TNT with Brooklyn Nets superstar Kevin Durant, Barkley declared he is “anti-social media, I’ve never tweeted.” “I understand there’s built-in animosity toward anybody who’s successful,” Barkley said. “When you’re a celebrity, people can say anything they want to you, but what you say to them can get you in trouble.” Barkley is not wrong, many celebrities have been baited into trouble on Twitter and for a brutally honest 58-year-old known for unfiltered analysis, social media can represent a dangerous place. And it’s not just Twitter that he avoids, last week, Barkley even claimed he’s never sent an email. “I talk bad about people the old-fashioned way – behind their back. I don’t put it in writing,” Barkley said. On the contrary, Durant is an avid Twitter user, following and responding to comments using his personal account and multiple burners. “I’m an...
The Internets Favorite Under-Eye Concealer Is Up to 57% Percent Off on Amazon Right Now Kyle Shanahan: Trey Lance will see things he’s never seen, can compensate with athletic ability © Provided by US Weekly Sharna Burgess Blogs DWTS Week 3 Brian Austin Green Sharna Burgess, who is currently competing on season 30 of Dancing With the Stars with real-life boyfriend Brian Austin Green, breaks down Britney Spears week exclusively with Us Weekly. On this week’s biggest challenge: We wanted to really give a good technical tango with lots of content even though our song, “Till the World Ends,” wasn’t really a traditional tango feel. Britney’s music is epic and having the sexier Latin styles I think matches better with her sound. And of course, dancing to a Britney is amazing so having a night dedicated to her was epic. We wanted to pay homage to her and also be true to our dance style. The song was selected for us and I was super thrilled with it. She’s had so many hits so there was no doubt...
On Tuesday night Rachel Maddow walked viewers through the last ten years of attempts to get gun control passed in Congress after multiple mass shootings, especially after the shootings in Newtown and Parkland. One through-line Maddow pointed to was Senator Joe Manchin, who said earlier he does not support the gun control bills passed by the House. Maddow recalled the Manchin-Toomey 2013 push and said, “He could not get that done. Something that’s so right, it does so much good, he couldn’t get that done. And now he is insisting that he is the one who has to be trusted with this task again, because he will not allow anybody else’s ideas to move forward.” She said the “Joe Manchin don’t-actually-do-anything-plan is not the only option,” and called the West Virginia Democrat a roadblock trying to do it his way “despite all the ways he’s failed in the past.” Maddow brought up President Joe Biden’s call for gun control earlier Tuesday as she told viewers, “He is talking to the United States Senate there, and Joe Manchin, the senator from...

Country singer T.J. Osborne of Brothers Osborne has come out as gay and admitted he’s “curious” how country music fans will react to the news. “I’m very comfortable being gay,” the 36-year-old singer of the hit country band shared with Time magazine in a piece published Wednesday. “I find myself being guarded for not wanting to talk about something that I personally don’t have a problem with,” he said. “That feels so strange.”   View this post on Instagram   A post shared by Brothers Osborne (@brothersosborne) “People will ask, ‘Why does this even need to be talked about?’ and personally, I agree with that,” Osborne continued. “But for me to show up at an awards show with a man would be jaw-dropping to people. Jana Kramer and Rachel Uchitel had a raw and emotional conversation about infidelity and what it does to relationships. The singer spoke with Uchitel, who is widely known as one of Tiger Woods' mistresses and part of his 2009 sex scandal, on her Whine Down podcast. Kramer, 37, blatantly stated before talking to Uchitel, "I hate her, honestly. That's a really mean thing to say. I don't know her. She's the face of someone else I hate. That's where I feel bad, I don't know her story." "She's the face of someone I don't like. It's going to be hard for me to take the picture of who I'm picturing and just see her," she continued. Former President Barack Obama spoke to Gayle King on CBS Sunday Morning, where he stated during President Donald Trump’s tenure, he didn’t take many of the things Trump touted “personally or seriously.” “President Obama’s successor was Donald Trump; some have seen Mr. Trump’s victory, in part, as a backlash to the Obama presidency,” King stated said in the report She remarked to Obama, “Donald Trump often raises eyebrows when he says he’s done more for Black America and people of color than Abraham Lincoln.” “Yes,” Obama replied with a chuckle. “Yes, it does raise eyebrows, you are correct!” “What do you think when you hear that?” King then asked Obama. “Do you take that as an insult to you or the work that you’ve done?” “I think it’s fair to say that there are many things he says that I do not take personally or seriously, although I think they can often be destructive and harmful,” Obama replied. Emmy-winning actress Kirstie Alley has shrugged off the vitriol that came her way after she announced over the weekend that she planned to vote for President Trump, she told "Hannity" Monday.  "They always attack me on the same three things: I'm a fat, irrelevant, Scientologist," Alley told host Sean Hannity. "But, this has been going on for 40 years, so I'm sort of prepared," Alley added. "That really is basically all they have to offer, so I honestly don't take it too personally because I feel that people are angry and they have the right to say what they wnt to say, and I have the right to block them if I don't like the way they speak." The "Cheers" star tweeted Saturday that she is voting for Trump to be reelected because he's "not a politician." KIRSTIE ALLEY RESPONDS TO 'NASTY', 'HORRIBLE' PEOPLE CRITICIZING HER SUPPORT FOR TRUMP "I voted for him 4 years ago for this reason and shall vote for him again for this reason. He gets things done quickly and he will turn the economy around quickly," she wrote. Among those who...
Baseball legend Mike Piazza told Fox News on Saturday that while he believed in the freedom to protest when the national anthem is played at games, he personally believed in standing for the song. "I think sports was always that last part of separate politics and when I was young, they would always say don't get involved in politics because you're going to alienate half your fans and I think look, but I also believe in freedom and I believe that if I don't want to stand, I don't want to stand, and if people want to kneel, they can kneel. They can do that and you will suffer the criticisms that come with that," Piazza said on "Cavuto Live." "I personally believe in standing for the national anthem, that's the way I was taught and that's what I believe. If you want to kneel for the cause, then you have the freedom to do that, but I also believe again that it's about freedom and if guys want to do that, fine. It's something but it's just something I'm responsible for myself." Piazza's comments come as the debate over kneeling during the anthem has returned as the U.S. has experienced months of protest about systemic racism in the...
Meaghan Ellis July 24, 2020 0 Comments Dr. Anthony Fauci — the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID)— is offering a candid glimpse at the personal decisions he has made when it comes to staying safe amid the coronavirus pandemic. During an interview with MarketWatch published on Friday, Fauci admitted that he is not eating in restaurants or taking flights due to the coronavirus. Fauci also offered a word of advice to those who are patronizing restaurants as he insisted indoor dining is far more dangerous than eating outdoors. “Indoors is much worse than outdoors,” Fauci said. “If you’re going to go to a restaurant, try as best as you can to have outdoor seating that is properly spaced between the tables. restaurants.” Carlos Barria/Reuters While the top infectious disease expert acknowledged that he is part of the high-risk category due to his age, he also attributed his decision to the “amount of infection” the United States is currently battling. “Well, the answer is ‘No’ for the following reason: I...

Rolling Stone reached out to over a dozen famous names in the music industry to get their take on returning to the stage amid ongoing fears about COVID-19 and got a wide range of responses, including some saying they aren’t willing to die “for Trump” and others speaking candidly about the “disastrous” impact on the industry from the lockdowns. The most “radical” case for playing shows again, vaccine or no vaccine, was former Van Halen lead singer Sammy Hagar. In a quote that has created some buzz online, Hagar, 72, said he’s all in for reopening concerts without a vaccine because if we don’t save the economy, we are “going to kill more people in the long run.” “I’ll be comfortable playing a show before there’s a vaccine, if it’s declining and seems to be going away,” Hagar told Rolling Stone. “I’m going to make a radical statement here,” he continued. “This is hard to say without stirring somebody up, but truthfully, I’d rather personally get sick and even die, if that’s what it takes.” “We have to save the world...
