The charity watchdog has launched a formal investigation into Naomi Campbell’s fashion charity over concerns about its management and finances, it emerged last night. Fashion For Relief is facing a statutory inquiry by the Charity Commission, which will look at possible misconduct and mismanagement. The foundation was set up by the London-born supermodel, 51, to relieve child poverty and advance health and education around the world.  Charity founder: The charity watchdog has launched a formal investigation into Naomi Campbell’s fashion charity over concerns about its management and finances, it emerged last night It claims to have raised more than $15million dollars (£11.25million) since its foundation in 2005 – mostly through glitzy fundraising events. However, The Mail on Sunday revealed earlier this year that the charity spent more than £1.6million on a spectacular fundraising gala in Cannes yet gave only £5,000 to good causes over a 15-month period including the show. As part of the watchdog’s investigation, Fashion For Relief trustees have been restricted from making some financial transactions ‘to protect the charity’s property’. Its last set of published accounts revealed large...
Fashion For Relief, the charity set up by Naomi Campbell, has hosted glitzy catwalk shows across the globe. But now the Charity Commission is investigating it for failing to file its accounts on time ‘and wider governance matters’, I can reveal. It comes five months after this newspaper reported earlier figures that showed it spent £1.6 million on an epic gala in Cannes in 2018, yet gave only £5,500 to good causes over 15 months. At the time, Fashion For Relief argued this wasn’t a true reflection, as often supporters make donations directly to the causes. It said last night: ‘Accounts were delayed due to Covid and the auditors. We are liaising with the Charity Commission and are confident of resolving this soon.’ Naomi Campbell walks the runway at Fashion for Relief Cannes 2018 during the 71st annual Cannes Film Festival at Aeroport Cannes Mandelieu in France Damson Idris, Adut Akech, Campbell and Stella Maxwell (pictured left to right) at the finale of the Fashion For Relief catwalk show London 2019  The power struggle between Tony Blair and Gordon Brown during...
Fashion month is a time when stars are made.  From runways and photo shoots to industry parties, there are plenty of opportunities for a young model to break out and catch the attention of the insiders who matter.  One of this year's biggest breakout stories is Eve Jobs, the 23-year-old daughter of late Apple founder Steve and billionaire investor Laurene Powell Jobs, who was named one of the 'new generation of IT girls' by society bible Tatler' after making her runway debut at Paris Fashion Week. The willowy blonde, who is an accomplished equestrian, strutted her stuff alongside Gigi Hadid and Adut Akech at Coperni's show on September 30, looking every inch the runway star in a flourescent green fitted top and thigh-skimming black mini skirt.  The following night she was off to the exclusive Vogue party at the Palais Gallerias, where she looked chic in a slinky black slip dress and a powder blue coat shrugged over her shoulders. PARIS (AP) — Yet again, Naomi Campbell stole the show at Paris Fashion Week. The 51-year-old runway veteran trod the boards of Lanvin’s flower-themed collection Sunday to screams from guests in a dramatic black cloak. Here are some highlights of the day’s 2022 spring collections: LANVIN’S FLOWER POWER Flowers are a natural touchstone for spring. Lanvin was the latest house to use florals this season, designer Bruno Sialelli employing them with aplomb. It gave vibrancy, humor and a contemporary feel to this fresh morning collection. Gently structured garments, which were crisp but moved fluidly, made sure the collection began with a minimalist mood. Following that came the historic touches that are necessary for the heritage-conscious brand — the world’s oldest continuously running fashion house. Glistening sequined panels on chiffon dresses were drawn from a 1934 dress named ‘Concerto.’ But it was when the vibrant blooms appeared that the real fun came out. The first flower on the runway was in the form of an oversize bracelet then, as a print, blossoming in yellow, across a funky short-suit. A...

Erica Campbell survived stage 4 Hodgkin’s Lymphoma at just 27, but that dark moment eventually steered her toward a now-successful modeling career. March 28, 2013 is a day etched in the mind of Erica Campbell. It was the day that the then-27 year old was diagnosed with Stage 4 Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, a cancer of the lymphatic system. What began as a persistent cough, turned out to be a disease that would forever change the course of her life. Initially, Campbell said, “I was angry. I was sad. I was disappointed in God. I said, ‘Why me?'” She said her faith got her through the challenges of battling cancer, including surgeries, biopsies, blood transfusions and six months of chemotherapy. Since her last chemotherapy treatment in September 2013, Campbell said, “I have become a face, a voice for cancer communities all across the country.” She is an ambassador with the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and The Lymphoma Research Foundation. Campbell’s battle with cancer also sparked an interest in becoming a plus size model. She said she’s always loved being in front of...

Naomi Campbell's charity is facing calls to improve its governance after accounts revealed it spent more than £1.6 million on a spectacular fundraising gala in Cannes – yet gave only £5,000 to good causes over the same period. Fashion For Relief, a charity set up by the 50-year-old supermodel, hosted the glitzy event in May 2018 to raise money for Time’s Up, an organisation established after the MeToo movement to support women in the workplace. Celebrity guests including Paris Hilton and Carla Bruni watched as Ms Campbell, who recently revealed she has become mother to a baby girl, took to the catwalk with supermodel friends such as Erin O’Connor and Natalia Vodianova. Accounts lodged with the Charity Commission covering the period from April 2018 to July 2019 show that event charges ran to almost £1.5 million, with an additional £43,000 spent on a fashion team, £18,000 on an operations director, and more than £57,500 on public relations. IN a year of celebrity tedium, it took just one midweek Instagram photo to once again rock the showbiz world. Naomi Campbell, one of the planet’s most famous women, left the internet aghast — and even her friends astounded — by revealing she had become a mum at the age of 50. 9Naomi has become a new mother at 50Credit: Mega While keyboard warriors were quick to criticise a “geriatric-geriatric mum” having a baby in her sixth decade, feverish speculation focused elsewhere on just how the supermodel had done it. And, crucially, who with. So who is the arguably brave soul to turn the erstwhile phone-throwing diva — a woman who once dated ear-chomping boxer Mike Tyson — into a homely, adoring mum of one? According to pals he is a multi-millionaire businessman living in New York, and the pair, introduced through mutual chums, are thought to be living in her rented £12million duplex apartment. Last year the globe-trotting star, who has appeared on Vogue covers 66 times, quietly moved to Manhattan. For her 50th birthday last May, the unnamed...

During the interview Naomi said she didn't become the woman she wanted to be until she was 30 years old. "At 29 I started to understand how I need to be with myself," she said. "So acknowledging it in my mind, understanding how I have to do it and that's at the point I had to take the action. "It's also important to look oneself in the mirror...

Naomi Campbell shared some curious content with her 9.8 million Instagram followers on Tuesday morning. Naomi Campbell has always been a trendsetter. Campbell went viral in March when she added  a full hazmat suit, goggles and a face shield to her airplane routine. Now, the fashion icon says that she’s been asked to donate her PPE to a museum. During an appearance on “Hot Ones,” Campbell said there was a “big chance” that her suit will get a high-fashion upgrade on the runway one day soon, and said that hers is set to become a part of history. “I’ve been asked to put my hazmat suit into a museum. They asked me for the one that I actually wore and my Burberry cape that I put on top of it,” she told host Sean Evans, without specifying the museum in question. Naomi Campbell is calling for big changes in the fashion industry. The legendary supermodel, 50, appeared remotely on “Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen” Tuesday, and was asked for her thoughts on Anna Wintour’s recent comments on Vogue’s lack of diversity. In a June memo sent to her magazine’s staff, the 70-year-old editor-in-chief admitted to “hurtful and intolerant” behavior at Vogue. “I want to say this especially to the Black members of our team — I can only imagine what these days have been like. But I also know that the hurt, and violence, and injustice we’re seeing and talking about have been around for a long time. Recognizing it and doing something about it is overdue,” Wintour wrote. “I want to say plainly that I know Vogue has not found enough ways to elevate and give space to Black editors, writers, photographers, designers and other creators. We have made mistakes too, publishing images or stories that have been hurtful or intolerant. I take full responsibility for those mistakes.” Concluded the editrix, “It can’t be easy to be a...
