The severity of their injuries is unknown as of around 11:30 p.m. Saturday. A male suspect is in custody. Officials told KDKA that the incident stemmed from a family argument at a baby shower. Police believe that the argument revolved around the gifts at the shower. (WJZ) — Prince George’s County officials announced that a 53-year-old former volunteer firefighter has been charged with two counts of third-degree and fourth-degree sex offenses. Officials said on July 14, Rodriquez-Lott engaged in sexual activity multiple times with a 14-year-old. “This case involves a young person in our community who was taken advantage of by someone we believe they did not know,” said State’s Attorney Braveboy. “Unfortunately, there are people who prey on children. We will hold them accountable. However, our children need to be reminded about safety on a daily basis. As we prepare for the upcoming school year, we want them to protect themselves from these types of dangers.”  
    MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — An 18-year-old from Minneapolis on Friday pleaded guilty to second-degree murder in the fatal shooting of a 17-year-old Minneapolis boy last September. The shooting happened in broad daylight at the Super USA at the intersection of North Fremont and Dowling avenues. A 19-year-old man was shot once and survived. Andre Conley, 17, was shot three times and later died from his injuries.     Officials in Maryland announced the indictments of five former Washington-area volunteer firefighters who are accused of conspiring to set fires so they could put them out. Between December 2019 and January 2020, the five men conspired with three civilians to set four fires at vacant homes when the former firefighters were on duty, Prince George's County State Attorney Aisha Braveboy said Friday. Twenty-six-year-old Jeremy Hawkins, 19-year-old Nicholas Holzberger, 24-year-old George Smith, 24-year-old Jay St. John, and 21-year-old Cole Vazquez, all former volunteers for the West Lanham Hills Volunteer Fire Department, worked with civilians Giancarlo Reyes and Francis Ortiz-Oro to orchestrate the fires, the indictment alleged. On Monday, the Charlotte County Sheriff's Office announced the arrest of Deputy Martin Allen, 41, on a felony count of lewd and lascivious conduct.     Police investigators have released new information after five teenagers in Westchester were hospitalized with various injuries following a “serious” one-car crash earlier in the week. The Scarsdale Police Department received a report of a crash on Brewster Road shortly before 7 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 11 where a driver struck a tree in the area. Scarsdale Police Capt. Ed Murphy said on Wednesday, Jan. 13 that the driver of the vehicle was a 17-year-old from Elmsford, and the passengers were an 18-year-old man and 19-year-old man from Elmsford, an 18-year-old from Scarsdale, and a 17-year-old woman from White Plains.     PAXTON (CBS) – Not a lot of 82-year-olds are willing to volunteer for a vaccine trial, but Mary Jo Moynihan is not your average 82-year-old. She has a great attitude. “If I died, that was one of the side effects listed was death, but I’m not afraid,” Moynihan said. She volunteered for the Pfizer Covid Vaccine trial in September. She got two doses and goes back weekly to Boston Medical Center to give blood. “I think one of two things. I got the placebo or it’s one heck of a great vaccine because I had no side effects whatsoever,” Moynihan said. Mary Jo Moynihan (WBZ-TV) Mary Jo was driven to volunteer because of what happened 49 years ago.     LITTLESTOWN, Pa. (CBS) – A Pennsylvania volunteer firefighter is being called a hero after authorities say he saved a 12-year-old girl. Elijah Hale says on Monday night, he spotted a house fire near Littlestown in Adams County. He did not have any firefighting gear with him. Instead, he found a ladder on the property and put it up to the second floor, where the girl managed to break a storm window to get out. He said as soon as he got her out, EMS arrived and he left. It wasn’t until hours later that he was called back to the scene and recognized for his heroic efforts.

(AP) — State police say a member of a Delaware volunteer fire department is facing felony charges after pulling a gun on a motorist while directing traffic at the scene of an incident. Authorities reported Monday that 69-year-old Elliott Glover of Smyrna is charged with aggravated menacing and possession of a deadly weapon during the commission of a felony. Glover posted $10,000 unsecured bond and was released. State troopers and members of the Smyrna volunteer fire department responded Saturday afternoon to a disabled vehicle stuck in the water on Woodland Beach Road.     Sheriff’s investigators this week arrested a 67-year-old man who they said volunteered as a pastor at two Aliso Viejo churches on suspicion of child molestation. Jose Andres Lopez, of Mission Viejo, was arrested Wednesday, Aug. 26, at a home in San Juan Capistrano and was booked on suspicion of committing lewd acts on a girl. The arrest came days after the victim came forward to authorities on Sunday, Aug. 23, and reported he began molesting her in 2010, according to the Orange County Sheriff’s Department. Authorities would not give her exact age, but said only she was under 10 years old when the alleged acts started. Lopez volunteered as a pastor at Pacific Hills Calvary Chapel in Aliso Viejo from 2003 to 2005 and at Compass Bible Church in Aliso Viejo from 2012 to 2020, according to the Sheriff’s Department. He turned 100 on Monday, July 27, but most people who see him think he is in his 70s. He still drives the 1998 Oldsmobile Cutlass that he bought new. It has 70,000 miles on it. His body has traveled a lot farther than that. Perce has volunteered 1,500 hours at SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital-Janesville since 2013, sometimes pushing people’s wheelchairs. Fellow volunteers, staff and family members surprised him that Monday with a cake, a card and voices raised in the “Happy Birthday” song at his home. He clutched the card and smiled continuously during the event. Perce’s main job at the hospital involves greeting people at the main entrance and helping them find their way to their appointments. He keeps his station tidy and is called on to help clerks with filing, sorting and delivering mail throughout the hospital.     The identity of a man killed in a fiery crash on Route 17 has been identified. The crash happened on Friday, June 19 at about 12:30 p.m. in the town of Wallkill.  Troopers responded to Route 17 for a single-vehicle crash.  Earlier report - Route 17 Stretch Reopens After Fatal, Fiery Crash Upon arrival, troopers observed a vehicle down an embankment and fully engulfed in flames.  An initial investigation revealed that a 2007 Honda Accord was traveling west on Route 17 in the left lane.  The vehicle crossed both westbound lanes and exited the roadway on the north shoulder traveled down an embankment, striking a tree and catching fire, state police said. Troopers attempted to extinguish the fire with fire extinguishers from their patrol units.  The Circleville and Bloomingburg Fire Departments arrived and were able to extinguish the fire.  The operator of the vehicle was unable to be extricated from the vehicle, now identified as Brandon A.
