A man suspected of being the Zodiac Killer recruited a posse of troubled young men and ordered one to shoot one an enemy dead, it is claimed. Gary Poste is said to have let alleged apprentice Chris Avery watch as he ordered another  unidentified boy to shoot an enemy dead after luring the unidentified man to a remote lake near his home in Groveland, California. 'He just didn’t have a conscience,' Avery said of Poste - the man who was tabbed as the infamous Bay Area killer by a group of 40 private investigators last month.  'He could kill indiscriminately.' Suspected Zodiac Killer Gary Poste (at left) reportedly trained a group of wayward youths how to kill in the decades after his alleged Bay Area killing spree, one alleged mentee has revealed Speaking to the group of independent sleuths, dubbed the Case Breakers, last month, Avery revealed he had served under the alleged serial murderer after he had migrated from San Francisco to Groveland in 1970, following his string of highly publicized killings. Refuting the adage that you can’t go home again, Paul Thomas Anderson thrillingly revisits the San Fernando Valley of his youth—as well as the high-flying electricity of his 1997 sophomore epic Boogie Nights—with Licorice Pizza, a coming-of-age celebration of figuring out who you are, where you want to be, what direction you want to head, and what riotous, go-for-broke inventiveness will help you achieve your dreams. The most purely optimistic film Anderson has made since 2002’s Punch-Drunk Love, with which it shares an unruly romanticism that’s rocked by bursts of anger, not to mention a shaggy odyssey in the vein of 2014’s Inherent Vice, it’s a nostalgia trip steeped in a ‘70s spirit of reckless abandon and an abiding affection for that moment in time when anything seems possible, and the wide-open road ahead is something toward which one furiously races. Licorice Pizza (Nov. 26, in theaters) is awash in sights of young men and women running at breakneck speed, none more wildly than 15-year-old high schooler Gary Valentine (Cooper Hoffman, son of the late Philip Seymour Hoffman, an Anderson...

The Sky Sports pundit argues that Ronaldo has returned to win trophies, and Neville believes that expectation will be replicated by the board. 2Gary Neville believes Cristiano Ronaldo's arrival has increased pressure on Ole Gunnar Solskjaer There is big pressure on Solskjaer to end United's barren run for a trophy, which stretches back to 2017. Will the Yankees get the ‘great’ Gary Sanchez for the remainder of the 2021 season? Andrew Allen July 1, 2021 Share on facebook Facebook Share on twitter Twitter Share on reddit Reddit The Yankees have been one of the most disappointing teams in all of baseball. Their offense has been lackluster and their starting rotation has failed to provide consistency. Nothing has clicked for the Bombers thus far. However, there have been some pleasant surprises in 2021.  Gary Sanchez was one of the worst catchers during the 2020 season. He hit .147 with a .232 OBP and a .618 OPS. It was a complete disaster for the Sanchino. During the postseason, backup catcher Kyle Higashioka saw more playing time than the silver slugger. It was the lowest point in the young catcher’s career.  Going into 2021, many wanted nothing to do with Sanchez. They wanted Cashman to send him elsewhere and commit to Higashioka going forward. The frustration around Gary was warranted. He was very very bad in 2020. However, the Yankees decided...

Payton has hit only 25.6 percent of his 3-point attempts in the NBA and 27.4 percent in the G League. He isn't an especially prolific playmaker either, so fitting him into NBA lineups has been difficult offensively. DENVER (CBS4) — One of the unidentified victims of the notorious Green River killer, Gary Ridgway, has now been identified as a 14-year-old runaway from Denver. Wendy Stephens is believed to be Ridgway’s youngest victim. (credit: Josh Trujillo-Pool/Getty Images) Stephens ran away from her Denver home in 1983. In 1984, her remains were discovered in an area near what is now Seattle-Tacoma International Airport, in King County, Washington. In 2003, Ridgway pleaded guilty to murdering 48 women. At the time, four of Ridgway’s victims remained unidentified. In 2019, the King County Sheriff’s Office began working with forensic anthropologist Dr. Katherine Taylor, the DNA Doe Project (DDP) and other scientists. They were able to use genetic genealogy to positively identified one of the four victims as Wendy Stephens. It turns out, early in 2019 one of the victim’s parents had taken a DNA test and uploaded the results to GEDmatch, hoping to learn the fate of their daughter....

Gary Oldman's mother never doubted that her son would win an Academy Award. ‘She’d say: “Oh, I think you could win an Oscar,” ’ Oldman recalls. ‘Or: “I’d love to see you win an Oscar!” ’ Her son did not share her confidence. ‘Really, for a long time in Hollywood I didn’t exactly play the game,’ he says. ‘But I didn’t want to tell her the chances of me ever winning one were very thin.’ Yet in 2018, Kathleen’s faith was justified. Oldman won the big one — the best actor Academy Award — for his wry and wise portrayal of a wartime Winston Churchill in Darkest Hour. He felt blessed that his mother, who had left her home in South-East London to join him in Los Angeles in the late 1980s (‘I just wanted to look after her’), lived long enough to see him achieve the honour. Oldman plays Herman J. Mankiewicz who, in the 1930s, shambled his way from the East Coast of America to the West, where he signed on as a writer for the Hollywood...
Yankees News: GM Brian Cashman talks Gary Sanchez’s future and state of the roster By: Alexander Wilson December 16, 2020 ShareTweetFlipRedditThere are still plenty of questions the New York Yankees need to answer this off-season, and one position they planned to reevaluate was catcher following the conclusion of the 2020 season. Gary Sanchez has been the assumed starter for the last several years, but he’s gradually seen his production and efficiency on offense and defense decline. He finished 2020 with a .147 batting average, 10 homers, and 24 RBIs. He set a career-high in strikeout percentage at 36%. He also logged a career-low .253 on-base percentage and a negative WAR for the first time in his career (-0.1). Despite losing the privilege of catching ace Gerrit Cole and being replaced in the postseason for Kyle Higashioka, a career minor-league player, general manager Brian Cashman still feels confident that Sanchez will be their starter in 2021. So far, during winter ball in the Dominican Republic, Sanchez has looked phenomenal, hitting home runs...
Colorado marijuana sales have topped $1 billion since the pandemic began, according to figures released this week by the state Department of Revenue. Legal marijuana sales topped $200 million in August for the second month in a row. Counting back to March of this year, when Colorado and the rest of the nation began shutting down over the pandemic, dispensaries have sold over $1.1 billion in marijuana products — and that's not counting sales in September and October, or back in February and January. And that's with prices at a three-year high. Readers had plenty to say about this record-breaking run in their Facebook comments on our story. Says Felicia: Good to see unemployment checks so well used. Adds Ed: No money to pay rent but plenty to purchase pot. Counters Josh: Is this the '50s? The MJ industry supports thousands of jobs and adds millions in tax revenue. And landlords charging 1,200 bucks a month for a studio apartment that adds nothing to the local economy want sympathy for evicting people unemployed...
John Flaherty defends Yankees’ Gary Sanchez: ‘There is still a lot of potential with him’ By: Andres Chavez October 14, 2020 ShareTweetFlipRedditHal Steinbrenner, the owner, managing general partner and chairman of the New York Yankees, said on Tuesday that the team won’t be parting ways with struggling starting catcher Gary Sanchez. He believes the “Kraken” will return to form in 2021. “We’ll get him back,” he said, per Bryan Hoch. Aaron Boone, the New York Yankees’ manager, also said the right words: “I still have a ton of confidence in Gary Sanchez.” Yet, they didn’t show their confidence in the man throughout the playoffs. Sanchez was regularly benched in favor of Kyle Higashioka. The trend started in the regular season and became more evident come playoff time. Boone prefered Higgy’s blocking prowess and game-calling traits to Sanchez’s offensive potential. Sanchez only played in three postseason games for the Yankees and took nine plate appearances. He hit a home run, but not much more. He was never given the opportunity to establish...
What’s the deal with “final strike” calls? Gary Thorne, Jerry Seinfeld and Keith Hernandez in the Mets boothSNY “Gary, you are the best,” Seinfeld tweeted. “But, it is not technically correct with 2 outs and 2 strikes in the 9th to say, ‘The Nats are down to their final strike.’ Because a base hit gives them at least 2 more strikes. It’s not the first time Seinfeld, whose connection to the trio started with Keith Hernandez appearing on his show, has made this argument regarding the common baseball term.
