The Milwaukee Bucks‘ Giannis Antetokounmpo is on the bad side of the refs once again. In just the second quarter of their game against the Los Angeles Lakers, he has already drawn his first foul against Montrezl Harrell. While some believe that he deserved it, the NBA Twitter World has a very different opinion on the matter. Twitter unhappy with the foul call on Giannis As the Bucks trailed behind the Lakers in the second quarter, their star player wanted to take it up a notch. However, in the process, Giannis ended up with a flagrant foul against Harrell. Giannis was characteristically driving the lane, looking to score a basket. Instead, he crashed into Harrell, and his elbow knocked the latter to the ground. First, the play was declared as an offensive foul but then changed to a flagrant foul. There’s no denying that the Greek Freak is known to...
The Los Angeles Lakers continued their phenomenal form on the road as they won their eighth straight game away from the Staples Center. By defeating Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Bucks, the LeBron James led Lakers regained the first seed in the West. The world had their eyes on this matchup as LeBron James and Giannis went head to head tonight. While Giannis had a good game, it was King James who came out victorious after the final whistle. Bron scored 34 points in the game while shooting 60% from the 3-point line! However, LBJ’s near perfect night was scarred by one outrageous blemish. In the 3rd quarter, James was embarrassed by Bucks’ Khris Middleton as he sent the ball in between James’ legs to Jrue Holiday. Knowing Holiday, he finished with an easy layup to cut the Lakers’ lead to 5. Despite the Bucks coming close to a comeback on...
Kobe Bryant is one of the greatest players to ever don the basketball gear. The sheer determination and grit he brought to the court was unmatched. The ‘Black Mamba’ is still remembered fondly by many players and fans of today’s generation who grew up watching him steal the show. When Kobe wanted to get something on the court, no one could tell him that he couldn’t. Kobe Bryant goes southpaw with fade-away Los Angeles Lakers‘ Anthony Davis shared a story from the time he played against Kobe Bryant. It was during his time with the New Orleans Pelicans. Kobe had hurt his right shoulder and had just come back into the game. Despite the injury, Kobe was determined to get his team the win, and he showed that with his play. He said, “This was in New Orleans. I think this is the year Kobe tore something in his right shoulder. ...
Getty Anthony Davis & LeBron James of the Los Angeles Lakers. The Los Angeles Lakers were able to bounceback on Thursday night with a win over the Milwaukee Bucks. They are now one of only two teams in the NBA to not lose back-to-back games, along with the Clippers. The moves the team made in the offseason appear to be paying off and they continue to roll. However, Los Angeles has gotten to their NBA-leading 12-4 record while star big man Anthony Davis hasn’t been playing to the level expected of him. His 21.1 points a game is the lowest he’s averaged since his second year in the league. Davis had a solid effort against the Bucks as he scored 18 points and nine rebounds but he’s not happy with how he’s been playing. “Right now, to be hard on myself, man, I think I suck right now,”...

He finished second to Antetokounmpo in last year’s MVP balloting. “It’s never been about individual (honors),” said James, a four-time MVP. “It’s all about the team success. That’s all that matters. … I just want to play well and help our team versus any opponent. That’s what it’s all about.” Los Angeles (12-4) bounced back after blowing a double-digit lead...

Though they currently hold the best record in the Western Conference, the Los Angeles Lakers are still expected to be active on the market before the 2021 trade deadline. They may currently have two of the best players in the league but as some of their rivals continue to grow stronger, they may be forced to find a third star that would help LeBron James and Anthony Davis defend their throne in the 2020-21 NBA season. One of the most realistic trade targets for the Purple and Gold is veteran shooting guard Victor Oladipo of the Houston Rockets. In a recent article, Lee Tran of Fadeaway World came up with a blockbuster trade idea that would enable Oladipo to join forces with James and Davis in Los Angeles this season. In the proposed scenario, the Lakers would be sending a package that includes Kyle Kuzma and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope to the...

The Golden State Warriors had a decent start to the season, holding a 2-3 record in their first five games. Now standing at 6-6, the Warriors seem to be struggling after making a plethora of changes in this offseason. Despite having a roster filled with young talents like James Wiseman, experienced stars like Stephen Curry, and veterans like Draymond Green, they have a long way to go before they can become the championship favorites again. Draymond Green is the perfect guide for Wiseman As the Warriors played the Los Angeles Lakers, they were trailing by 8 points with 6 minutes left in the fourth quarter. Even in the beginning, Golden State couldn’t catch up to the reigning champions. Taking a huge lead, at one point, Lakers’ Dennis Schroder alone had the Warriors’ team total, 14 points. But GSW managed to beat the top team of the West by 115-113. The...
After a terrible second-half performance, the Los Angeles Lakers succumbed to defeat against the Golden State Warriors. They had multiple turnovers in the end, including a few controversial calls, that left Lakers star LeBron James annoyed. LeBron had two traveling turnovers in the final four minutes, both of which were costly for the Lakers and contributed to their defeat. During the post-game interview, he expressed his displeasure regarding the officiating. He said, “I saw them on the replays, and that’s a move I’ve been making my whole career. It’s funny, Draymond comes down and slides his foot and it doesn’t get called a travel by the same official that called me for a travel.”  Later he mentioned that if that was a travel, then he would like to see some more consistency regarding such calls. Stephen Curry is more back than ever. The Lakers trusted the Warriors and paid for it. Curry He participated in 12 of the 14 points with which the San Francisco Bay team turned the clash around and ended the streak of five consecutive victories for the Angelenos, who remain in command of the Western Conference. The last four minutes of the game were all an exhibition of Curry to which the Lakers knew how to respond. Those in purple and gold had a seven-point lead that they weren’t able to retain, watching it vanish with Decisive triple from the edge by the Warriors point guard. Since the 2020 offseason, rumors have been continuously swirling around veteran shooting guard DeMar DeRozan and his future with the San Antonio Spurs. Though it remains unknown if they are actively shopping DeRozan, most people believe that it would be best for them to move him before the 2021 trade deadline than take the risk of losing him in the 2021 free agency without getting anything valuable in return. One of the potential suitors of DeRozan on the trade market is the reigning NBA champions Los Angeles Lakers. In a recent article, Greg Patuto of NBA Analysis Network came up with a blockbuster trade idea between the Lakers and the Spurs that would enable DeRozan to join forces with LeBron James and Anthony Davis in Los Angeles. The Los Angeles Lakers are off to a blazing start this season. They are 10-3 right now and firmly hold the #1 seed in the Western Conference. Tonight, they are facing off against Zion Williamson and the New Orleans Pelicans, and the matchup has all the ingredients to become a thriller. While the Lakers are naturally the favorites to win this game, the Pelicans are playing phenomenally in the initial phase. Brandon Ingram has continued his impeccable run and is pushing the team to an early lead in the game. With one quarter in the books, the Pelicans lead the game by 8 points. Although NOLA is leading the game, Lakers’ Anthony Davis displayed his power against Zion Williamson. Zion tried to drive the ball to the basket, but AD was there and blocked it against the backboard. In the first half of the season, Anthony Davis has certainly made...

Getty Ex-Lakers Dwight Howard & JaVale McGee. In the offseason, the Los Angeles Lakers made the decision to trade JaVale McGee so that they could have the cap space to sign Marc Gasol. McGee had started in 130 of 143 games for the purple and gold over the last two seasons but they decided to move on. However, it’s possible there might be a little regret with the move. The Lakers haven’t come out and lamented the decision to trade McGee but it’s clear they have less athleticism and size at center. This led former player turned analyst Kendrick Perkins to call on Los Angeles to re-acquire McGee. Things could get complicated if the Lakers wanted to bring him back, though. Bleacher Report’s Eric Pincus broke down how they could make it happen. Lakers cannot sign JaVale McGee if he's cut by the Cavs – they cannot trade...

After the offseason the Los Angeles Lakers had, fans were worried about adjustment issues and whether it was a good idea to make so many changes to a roster that won an NBA title. Well, it looks like the Lakers had thought this through. Keeping aside some slight bumps in the season so far, they are leading the west with an 8-3 record. In fact, their new addition, Wesley Matthews can’t stop praising his new coach. Matthews adapting to new roles for the Lakers It isn’t easy to switch from being a starter to a bench player, and Wesley Matthews is a live example of this. This is a player who has come off the bench only two times in eight years. He was also the starter for the Milwaukee Bucks in every game last season. However, he is now taking some time adjusting to playing the role of a...

Getty Los Angeles Lakers star Anthony Davis. It hasn’t been a perfect start to the season for Anthony Davis. The Los Angeles Lakers star has already missed two games with a calf injury is only averaging 22.9 points per game. The shortened offseason is likely playing a big factor in his early struggles but it could also have to do with his offensive decision making. Dan Favale of Bleacher Report recently suggested that Davis might be relying too much on jump shots on offense: Davis’ attraction to jumpers hasn’t stopped here. His mid-range frequency has skyrocketed—mostly at the expense of his volume around the rim. Just over 25 percent of his shots are coming from point-blank range, a share that would comfortably rank as a career low. In theory, this seems awkward, verging on problematic. Davis has never been the most efficient shooter. In practice, it isn’t an...

The 2020-21 NBA season has opened up with the same debate from last year – LA Clippers or the LA Lakers? Who will come out of the West to reach the NBA Finals? And everyone’s licking their lips to see them in a Playoffs series. Since the Clippers disappointed by falling to the Denver Nuggets in the semi-finals, the balance of any potential contest will be heavily in the favor of their more fashionable and successful cross-town rivals. The Los Angeles Lakers are one of the deepest rosters in the NBA. One of the most crucial rotational player for their side is Kyle Kuzma. The 26-year-old has been with  the Lakers since 2017 and over the years shown flashes of superstar potential. Kuzma in the last two years has adjusted to a new role as a rotational player. He has impressed the team and coaching staff with the versatility he has shown. The Lakers surely did not want to let go off of Kuzma and thus tied him down to a 3-year extension worth $40 million. Veteran Jared Dudley had a hilarious exchange with Kuzma who pulled up in his new Lamborghini. Dadley taunted Kuzma and said “My man got that newww moneyyyyyy” referring to the money he received with the new contract. Kuzma is one of the younger players the Lakers. the organization will expect him to...
Getty JaVale McGee with Dwight Howard. It’s still early in the NBA season but it’s clear the Los Angeles Lakers aren’t playing at as a high level as they did to start last season. They won 20 games last season before they lost their third. This season, they’ve already lost three of 10 games. It was expected that they’d get off to a slow start thanks to the shortened offseason but some already believe the Lakers should make a move. In the offseason, Los Angeles decided to trade away starting center JaVale McGee to the Cleveland Cavaliers so that they could sign Marc Gasol. Former NBA big man Kendrick Perkins believes that the Lakers made a mistake and should figure out how to get McGee back. The Bulls are picking on Gasol every time down the court putting him in every pick n roll! Lakers might need to...
The Los Angeles Lakers take on the Houston Rockets in a thrilling Western Conference showdown. Their matchup will be a rematch from the Western Conference semi-finals in the bubble. The Lakers came out on top against the Rockets and went on to win the NBA Championship. But the Rockets and Lakers have very different squads, and this will be a different game. The LA Lakers have had a good start to the NBA season, with a 7-3 record, the joint best in the league with the Suns, 76ers, and Celtics. However, the Lakers have been less than convincing so far. The Rockets, on the other hand, have had a tough start to the season. All the focus has...
Jared Dudley is an important player for the Los Angeles Lakers. While he doesn’t get much game time, he helps add to the Lakers’ bench depth. Dudley’s minutes have dwindled significantly since joining the Los Angeles Lakers last season. However, being the consummate professional he is, Dudley has accepted his role and done everything in his power to help the team. Jared Dudley defends himself Jared Dudley took to Twitter to hit back at criticism of him as a player. One fan account compared him to Nets’ veteran Jeff Green and said that Green is better than he is. While Dudley gave props to Green as a player, he noted that both he and Green bring something entirely different to their franchises. He said “Love Jeff Green! and what he’s providing on the court but, there’s many differences between us.. The locker room, film sessions, leadership, we have different personalities. That’s...

The Los Angeles Lakers are sitting comfortably on the top of Western Conference with four back-to-back wins under their belt. They seem to be totally in line with last year’s performance, with an almost seamless replication. Their upcoming opponents, the San Antonio Spurs, are also on a high after upsetting the LA Clippers. The Lakers and the Spurs will play their third game of the season, with the former leading 2-0. In their past two games against the Lakers, the Spurs struggled with their defense and their clutch performance seemed directionless. However, it can all change because of the recent success that gave them confidence. Getty LeBron james of the Los Angeles Lakers (C) goes to the hoop under pressure from Draymond Green (R) of the Golden State Warriors. The Golden State Warriors were off to a rough start to begin the 2020-21 NBA season. With their superstar, and two-time MVP, Steph Curry shooting under 30% from the three-point line, the rest of the team, including their rising star Andrew Wiggins, followed suit not being able to score as much as the team needed. Yet all that began to change once the team’s most vocal leader, and former NBA Defensive Player of the Year, Draymond Green returned to the floor. The team’s offense began to move more fluidly and that led to Curry scoring a career-high of 62 points. Some could attribute to Curry’s scoring flurry, and the subsequent team success, to the Warriors beginning to get their legs underneath them as they...
Los Angeles Lakers’ Anthony Davis is practically unstoppable when he is in his rhythm. His freakish athleticism combined with his ability to score from anywhere on the court makes it impossible for opponents to develop a comprehensive plan to tackle him. However, San Antonio Spurs’ Rudy Gay may have found an unorthodox way to stop him. Anthony Davis gets ‘choked out’ The Los Angeles Lakers are playing the San Antonio Spurs at the Staples Center. When Anthony Davis chose to drive to the basket, Rudy Gay decided to bring him down so he couldn’t get the easy bucket. Up until this point, Davis had been in great scoring form; hence, Gay did the only thing he could to stop him; he put him in an MMA-style chokehold. The choke-hold was obviously in good fun as the two players shook hands and looked friendly after getting up. It is always good...

The Los Angeles Lakers are hopeful they can visit Joe Biden at the White House in 2021.After four years of not making the trek to 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, the Los Angeles Lakers are looking forward to possibly visiting the White House once the 46th President of the United States of America, Joe Biden, has been sworn into office. Prior to Donald Trump being elected back in 2016, it had been customary for the reigning NBA champion to visit the White House whenever they were in town to play the Washington Wizards. The last NBA champions to visit the White House were the 2016 Cleveland Cavaliers when Barack Obama was in office. It will be tricky because of COVID-19, but the Lakers remain hopeful. When would the Lakers look to visit Joe Biden at the White House?Even though the Lakers are favored to repeat as NBA champions, there are no guarantees Los...
The Los Angeles Lakers are slated to take on the Memphis Grizzlies for their next fixture. The game will take place at the FedExForum in Memphis at 8:00 PM EST on Tuesday. The last time these two sides met, the LA Lakers won comfortably on the back of a sensational performance by LeBron James. James scored 13 of his 22 points in the 4th quarter, which helped the purple and gold breeze past their opponents. Winning the game improved their season record to 5-2. However, the same can’t be said for the Memphis Grizzlies. They are currently the 15th seed in the West with an underwhelming record of 2-4. Which team will emerge victorious on Tuesday night? Getty Los Angeles Lakers GM Rob Pelinka. The Los Angeles Lakers have gotten off to a fast start this season despite the quick turnaround. The team is 6-2 and is playing well on both sides of the floor. However, the roster might have a weakness when they get closer to the postseason. As of right now, they don’t have great size outside of Marc Gasol and Anthony Davis. When Montrezl Harrell plays late in games, opposing teams take advantage of the undersized center. That could be a problem when the Lakers are playing important games. Zach Buckley of Bleacher Report believes the team should trade Harrell for a “stretch big”: Unless the Lakers plan to pivot heavily toward using Anthony Davis at center in the second season (he spent 60 percent of his minutes there in the 2020 playoffs), L.A. should diversify its frontcourt looks ahead of time....

Anthony Davis and LeBron James are the backbone of the current Los Angeles Lakers team. When the two superstars play well, the whole team gets going. While Davis had an underwhelming game against the Grizzlies, LeBron picked up the slack. Despite not having a good game overall, Davis flaunted his skill-set in the second quarter. He pulled off a fancy mid-range jumper that left fans in awe. AD had a tremendous game in the Lakers’ previous fixture against the Spurs, but this time around, he had just 17 points while going 6-of-15 from the floor. Moving forward, the Lakers would expect more from their All-Star big man. However, Davis has already proved his worth in the last season. He led the team in scoring while knocking up some big shots in the playoffs. So far this season, he is averaging 21.7 points per game which he would like to improve...
Despite being in the league for nearly two decades and amassing a multitude of accolades, LeBron James is always looking to improve his game. Up until a few years ago, LBJ was considered a mediocre 3-point shooter. However, in his time as a Laker, he is slowly but surely rectifying that flaw in his game. In fact, he showed off his progress in the Lakers’ Sunday night victory over the Memphis Grizzlies. Although the purple and gold won the game, it was a very close matchup until the final quarter. In the fourth quarter, King James took over and scored 13 of his 22 points to close out the game. During that incredible scoring run, LBJ pulled up a deep 3 from the Grizzlies’ logo. Ultimately, it proved to be a dagger for the already short-handed Memphis Grizzlies. Twitter reacts to King James hitting a logo 3-pointer As expected, the...

Los Angeles Lakers and San Antonio Spurs will battle once again on Friday night in San Antonio at 8PM ET. Last time, the Lakers won comfortably on a 121-107 scoreline. But can they do it again? We will find out soon. The purple and gold are slowly but surely building up their chemistry with each passing day. They have made some huge alterations to their roster in an effort to win a back-to-back title. As a result, in the first few games, their chemistry was all over the place. But now they are looking a much better team. While it is good news for LA fans, its naturally bad news for the SpurNation. As of now they are 2-2 this season, but their next few fixtures are not a cakewalk. Furthermore, if they do not make the playoffs this year, they might finally embrace a full rebuild. Los...
In a recently published article, Bleacher Report suggested that 2019-20 Sixth Man of the Year awardee Montrezl Harrell could be the player the Los Angeles Lakers would trade before the March 25 deadline, should they decide to make further adjustments to their lineup. As explained on Friday by the publication’s Dan Favale in his list of players on each NBA team that might need to be traded, Harrell is arguably the “most sensible” player for the Lakers to move. Although he has lived up to expectations as a great finisher with a solid inside game, he has struggled on the defensive end, with opposing teams “exploiting” this weakness. Harrell’s limited shooting range was mentioned as another drawback that could make him less useful to the Lakers if and when they qualify for the playoffs. With those limitations in mind, the Bleacher Report writer speculated that the Lakers might not have...

In the meantime, Kuzma helped the Lakers to an NBA championship, got himself a ring, survived the offseason trade market and also got himself a new contract, worth $40 million over three years. When the Los Angeles Lakers signed Marc Gasol in Free Agency, there was some hype around the move. He returned to the team that originally drafted him back in 2007. After a quiet first two games, Gasol showed what he can do in the third game. He had 12 points, eight assists, seven rebounds, and four blocks, and was a force on both ends. Moreover, he managed that in just 21 minutes, becoming the first player in NBA history to record such a stat line in that time. Despite it being just their third game together, Gasol already found a connection with LeBron James. He was able to set up the 2020 Finals MVP multiple times, creating easy chances for him to score. Their connection reminded Lakers fans of the chemistry Gasol’s older brother Pau had with Kobe Bryant back in his playing days. LeBron also felt this...
After winning the 2020 NBA championship title, the Los Angeles Lakers immediately addressed their need for another playmaker and shot-creator by trading for Dennis Schroder and solidified their frontcourt by signing Marc Gasol and Montrezl Harrell in the 2020 free agency. However, despite their recent additions, the Lakers don’t seem to be done in making moves. In order to boost their chances of defending their throne in the 2020-21 NBA season, they are expected to continue finding ways to improve their roster before the 2021 trade deadline. One of the big names that the Lakers could realistically acquire this season is Zach LaVine of the Chicago Bulls. According to Brett Siegel of NBA Analysis Network, the Lakers could bring LaVine to Los Angeles by sending a package that includes Kentavious Caldwell-Pope and Kyle Kuzma to the Bulls. However, before they could push through with the trade, both teams would be...

Missing a player like Anthony Davis is always a big loss. But the Los Angeles Lakers are lucky to have a replacement like Kyle Kuzma. The #27 overall pick got the start after Davis was ruled out with a calf strain. Kuzma seized the opportunity presented to him and led the Lakers to a win over the Timberwolves. He had 20 points and shot an excellent 8-12 from the field. His outside shooting was also terrific, and he ended with 4-6 from three. Indiana Pacers shooting guard Victor Oladipo is set to be one of the hottest names on the market before the 2021 trade deadline. With their failure to reach an agreement regarding a contract extension, it would be best for the Pacers to move him now than take the risk of losing him in the 2021 free agency without getting anything in return. Once he becomes officially available on the trading block, several teams that are in dire need of a backcourt boost and additional star power are expected to express a strong interest in acquiring Oladipo, including the reigning NBA champions Los Angeles Lakers. In a recent article, Greg Patuto of NBA Analysis Network came up with a trade idea on how Oladipo would be able to form the Lakers’ “Big Three” with LeBron James and Anthony Davis in Los Angeles. LOS ANGELES (CBSLA) — The Los Angeles Lakers are set to take the court for the franchise’s 47th Christmas Day game, but LeBron James said he was expecting the Friday game against the Dallas Mavericks at Staples Center to feel a little different than years past. (Photo by Harry How/Getty Images) “I’ve had the opportunity to play here on Christmas as a Laker and also as an opponent,” he told reporters Thursday. “It’s a beautiful feeling being here, but it’s not the same without the Laker faithful, without the fans, without celebrity row, without the bright lights. It’s just a totally different feeling. “It’s just strictly basketball, which is fine,” James continued. “But our game is entertainment as well. And when you’re out there, you hope...
According to a recently proposed trade idea, the New York Knicks and Los Angeles Lakers could swap their struggling young forwards, with Kyle Kuzma heading to the Knicks and the Lakers receiving Kevin Knox and two second-round picks from the 2021 draft. On Thursday, NBA Analysis Network wrote that at this point, the Knicks have “not shown any sort of plan” for their rebuild, which has seen highly-touted prospects such as Knox and Frank Ntilikina arguably turn out as busts. Both players have frequently been brought up in trade rumors as they are still young enough to turn things around with another team. “For Knox, there is no better potential destination than the Lakers,” the publication continued. “They are a franchise that is looking to win championships. Los Angeles has locked down LeBron James and Anthony Davis for the future. That means they are going to be near the top...
Getty Los Angeles Lakers forward Kyle Kuzma. The decision for the Los Angeles Lakers to extend Kyle Kuzma’s contract came as a bit of a surprise. He’s coming off his weakest season as a pro and it’s fair to question if he’s a fit with the team. That said, he’s still young and has shown very good potential in the past. If the Lakers believe that he’ll return to form, then it was a good call to keep him long-term. However, not everybody was a fan of the move. Former NBA general manager John Hollinger crushed the Lakers for making the deal, via The Athletic. “This is an awful deal on two levels,” Hollinger wrote. “First of all, this is a hard thing for casuals to realize because he’s relatively famous and plays for the Lakers, but Kuzma isn’t particularly good right now and isn’t so young that...

He’s going to be playing in the same building and the two teams will be playing each other quite a bit this season. Plus, Harrell can’t help but take subtle shots at his former team. The Clippers made news on Monday when it was reported that they were giving Luke Kennard a four-year contract extension worth $64 million. Getty Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James. The Los Angeles Lakers will receive their Championship rings Tuesday night at Staples Center before taking cross-hall rival, Los Angeles Clippers. Guided by head coach, Frank Vogel and assistant coaches Phil Handy, Jason Kidd, Lionel Hollins, Miles Simon, Mike Penberthy and Quinton Crawford the Lakers defeated the Eastern Conference champion Miami Heat, 4–2. With a roster that included LeBron James, Anthony Davis, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, Kyle Kuzma, Rajon Rondo, Alex Caruso, Dwight Howard, Danny Green, J.R. Smith, JaVale McGee, Dion Waiters and Jared Dudley, the Lakers won their first NBA championship in ten years. For those keeping score at home: It was the franchise’s 17th title, tying the Boston Celtics for the most in league history. It makes sense for the Lakers to overpay Kyle Kuzma, but giving him a player option was a clear capitulation by Los Angeles’ front office.  Kyle Kuzma’s new contract is going to raise a lot of eyebrows around the NBA. The idea that the Lakers needed to overpay Kuzma to prevent him from hitting restricted free agency isn’t that surprising. Allowing him to be the first rookie ever to receive a player option on a non-max extension was a big mistake by Los Angeles’ front office. It’s hard to imagine Kuzma really outperforming his new three-year, $40 million deal with the Lakers. He was always a good candidate to be overpaid because of his team’s lack of any real way to replace him if he left via restricted free agency. Los Angeles needs to do everything they can to continue to surround LeBron James and Anthony Davis with talent while...
Getty Los Angeles Lakers forward Kyle Kuzma. Despite being the subject of trade rumors for almost a year now, Kyle Kuzma has been able to stick with the Los Angeles Lakers. There was talk that both sides were discussing a contract extension as he was set to be a restricted free agent once this upcoming season ended. It didn’t seem like anything would materialize soon but for the first time in his career, it looks like Kuzma will have security with the Lakers. According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, Kuzma has signed a three-year contract extension worth $40 million. He’ll have a player option for the 2023-2024 season. LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers became the 2020 NBA champions on October 11. Seventy-seven days later, they will regroup once again at start of the 2020-21 NBA season against the Clippers. This off-season has been pretty inconsistent, to say the least. While teams like the Warriors and the Hawks have had a nine-and-a-half month break, the Lakers and the Heat barely got the time to recoup. With such a short time, it is fair to assume that many players might still be fatigued. We might not see stars like LeBron James and Anthony Davis play every match. It will be interesting to see how the teams that made deep playoff runs cope up. LeBron James on a shorter off-season Lakers’ star and leader LeBron James recently interacted with the media. The Golden State Warriors have finished their slew of preseason games and are now turning their attention to the upcoming game against the Brooklyn Nets to kick off their 2020-21 NBA season. While they may be entering the year shorthanded with their superstar shooting guard, and five-time All-Star, Klay Thompson out for the entire season due to tearing his right Achilles hours before the 2020 NBA Draft, they are still confident they can compete and be one of the better teams in the NBA’s stacked western conference. Some of that confidence comes from their past prestige and still having former two-time MVP Steph Curry, who missed the majority of last season due to a broken hand, and former Defensive Player of the Year Draymond Green,...
