The Germany-based woman, who is named Jacqueline and goes by the username @dieschaklin online, revealed on TikTok that she pretended to get married in an attempt to get her ex to text her - but it didn't work. Q: After we moved into the home we purchased, we noticed slow drains. A plumber confirmed the plumbing is “operating as designed.” This plumber suggested running a camera through the home’s lateral sewer line. We learned we have a lateral sewer line with areas that “dip down.” These low spots collect wastewater. There are also small roots obstructing proper drainage to the city’s main sewer line. We spent $1,100 a square foot for this Bay Area house. How is it possible we are now facing the prospect of cutting up 50 feet of driveway to replace a lateral sewer line? The agents and home sellers involved understood that we were new to homebuying. They were also aware that we received gift money from my parents and my in-laws to complete this home sale. That’s three parties who feel misled on the condition of the property. We think the sellers and realty agents should pay for the replacement of this lateral sewer line.  Are there steps we can take before hiring an attorney? If so, what are they? A: Most...
LIONEL MESSI scooped his seventh Ballon d'Or as the Paris Saint-Germain star was once again recognised as the world's best player. The 34-year-old made it back-to-back wins at the star-studded ceremony after picking up the gong in 2019. The coveted trophy was not awarded last year after Covid forced organisers to cancel. But it was back with a bang for 2021 as Messi beat second-placed Robert Lewandowski and Jorginho in third for the night's big prize. The trophy marks a high point in a momentous year for the Argentinian superstar. Joe Scarborough tore into Rep. Ronny Jackson (R-TX) for embracing the notion that Omicron is nothing but a political device that Democrats are manufacturing for a political advantage. Scarborough’s mockery came as Morning Joe talked on Monday about how the international community might be affected by the newly emerging strain of the coronavirus. While Omicron has already become a matter of global concern, Jackson is writing it off as “the Midterm Election Variant,” and claiming it is all part of a Democrat ploy to “CHEAT.” Here comes the MEV – the Midterm Election Variant! They NEED a reason to push unsolicited nationwide mail-in ballots. Democrats will do anything to CHEAT during an election – but we’re not going to let them! — Ronny Jackson (@RonnyJacksonTX) November 27, 2021 Jackson’s tweet came hours after Fox & Friends claimed Democrats would keep trotting out new Covid variants “every October,” the idea being that the party would fear-monger off of Covid during election seasons. In any event, Scarborough went after Jackson as he spoke about the “vast conspiracy” being pushed by “idiots on...

SCIENTISTS are incredibly using the winds on Mars to map out the first complete picture of how it was formed three billion years ago. The team used instruments onboard NASA's InSight lander probe to install a seismometer to determine what lies below the surface of the red planet. 1Researchers have been able to investigate what lies beneath the surface on MarsCredit: ETH Zurich The Swiss Seismological Service (SED) and the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich (ETH) have analyzed 'marsquakes' rippling through the planet since 2018. After gaining an understanding of the makeup of Mars' core, its mantle and the thickness of its crust, they have now been able to go one step further. The researchers have managed to glance below the planet's surface and into three billion years of history by listening to the sound of wind reverberating through the layers of soil and rock near the planet's equator. The Swiss geophysicists used the lander's sensitive instruments to measure vibrations on the surface which ripple deep below. CZECH billionaire Daniel Kretinsky has signed a deal to complete a full takeover of West Ham. But documents lodged at Companies House show a deal has already been signed by Kretinsky and Sullivan to buy a controlling stake at an already agreed rate – valuing the London club around £650m. The ‘Put and Call’ agreement is mentioned several times in new articles of association lodged by the club’s parent company WH Holding Ltd on November 23. It shows the terms of a takeover are already sealed, with 46-year-old Kretinsky having an unspecified...
On the first play of his first game in over a year, Nick Boyle escorted a Chicago Bears defender away from the line of scrimmage and watched Ravens running back Devonta Freeman zip past him. On the second play of his first game in over a year, Boyle pinned another Bears player back and watched Freeman climb to the second level again. Boyle’s rehabilitation from season-ending knee surgery had been a long, painful process. On Sunday, a couple of big blocks was his reward. “When I blocked my guy, to see the running back get through, it made me feel a little better,” Boyle said with a grin Wednesday, making his first comments to Baltimore reporters since he was carted off the field in a rainy road loss to the New England Patriots on Nov. 15, 2020. “Coming back from injury, man, you have doubts. And those are the doubts you’ve got to push away. And when you go out there to play, it’s like, you do everything in your power to get those plays right and do...
WHEN Gareth Southgate was asked about his apparent obsession with right-backs, after selecting four in his initial Euros squad, the England boss gave an interesting answer.  “You feel you are looking at four right-backs,” replied Southgate, “I just see four good footballers.”  2Reece James is becoming a complete, all-round footballer - not just a right-backCredit: Getty He might have added that Reece James, Kyle Walker, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Kieran Trippier are four of England’s finest. And the more you watch James as he emerges into world-class status, the greater you understand the wisdom of Southgate’s words.  James is no traditional right-back, nor even a typical right wing-back. The 21-year-old Chelsea man is close to becoming a complete all-round footballer. Having produced a defensive masterclass to pocket Raheem Sterling in the Champions League final victory over Manchester City, James is this season’s leading goalscorer for the Premier League leaders.   When team-mate Christian Pulisic was asked whether James could remain top scorer, he replied: “Honestly, the way he strikes the ball, I wouldn’t be surprised.  Most read in Premier LeagueLive BlogGUNNERS LATEST...

A key component in Metrorail’s Silver Line extension project has reached “substantial completion.” This means that major construction is complete and operational readiness testing is able to begin, during which the contractor will demonstrate the project’s functionality. Most of the time, street maintenance projects only scratch the surface. Every fifteen years or so, any given street in Minneapolis gets a “mill and overlay,” the most common kind of repair. A public works crew shows up to mill off and replace the surface asphalt. The process takes about two weeks, and if you’re lucky, the public works’ department will throw in a few new ADA sidewalks. But full street reconstructions are a much more expensive story. Even if the city budget is in good shape, they only happen once every 50 years. Because the teams redo the street foundation, including all the utilities, it’s a months-long process. But on the other hand, engineers redesign the street in any way they want. For urban planners, that’s when the fun begins. Any day now, Minneapolis Public Works will unveil two new street reconstructions featuring a new concrete tricks never before seen in the Twin Cities. And bookmakers Coral believe that Spanish heavyweights Real Madrid are the leading contenders to complete a deal for the talented midfielder. GETTY 2 Real Madrid are favourites to sign Manchester City star Phil Foden *CORAL NEW CUSTOMER OFFER: BET £5 GET £20* The Mirror claim Zinedine Zidane’s La Liga champions have been tracking Foden’s progress for several months. And the Bernabeu side are ‘preparing’ to submit an offer at some point in the next 12 months should the 20-year-old continues to find his first-team opportunities limited. Real Madrid lead the betting market at 15/8 with Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain both priced at 6/1 with bookies Coral. Foden is widely considered to be one of the brightest prospects in English football. But the Stockport-born playmaker has started just one top-flight game since October 17, that being a 1-0 victory over Arsenal. And The Telegraph claim Foden is growing increasingly frustrated having again been used as a late substitute during Saturday’s 2-0 victory over Newcastle. Phil Foden...

Anne Hathaway and Anthony Hopkins on set of Armageddon Time in NY Delta variant likely slammed brakes on U.S. economic growth in third quarter In late September, when the proposition of acquiring Deshaun Watson continued to linger inside the Miami Dolphins, it became clear to the Houston Texans and the quarterback’s legal camp that Dolphins owner Stephen Ross wasn’t getting a piece of clarity that he wanted.  Watson’s 22 civil lawsuits alleging sexual misconduct were sitting in the Harris County District Court system with virtually no movement to speak of, while there was no guidance available regarding a potential grand jury investigation into some of those claims. Both of these realities made Ross wary of a deal, particularly one that involved Houston’s asking price of three first-round draft picks and two second-round selections. The message to Watson’s camp and the Texans was clear: If a trade was going to get consummated, the quarterback needed to resolve the civil suits that were pending against him. And to Watson’s camp, that meant a global settlement of all 22 complaints needed to...

Glover Teixeira could become the UFC's oldest ever champion this weekend and his remarkable 42 years read like a Hollywood script.  The Brazilian takes on light-heavyweight champion Jan Blachowicz this Saturday with the chance to fulfill the American dream, having arrived with nothing after a jaw-dropping 43-day trip to smuggle himself into the country.  Teixeira has opened up about his story like never before to MMA Fighting's Portuguese-language podcast Trocação Franca and detailed how he made it to the US as a 19-year-old in search of a better life.  Glover Teixeira, now 42, crossed the desert to reach America in search of a better life  The Brazilian (right) came to MMA late but will fight for a UFC title this weekend  'It's tense,' he said. 'It took me 43 days to get here. Everybody knows how dangerous it is to cross the Mexico border. People die, people get arrested, tortured. So [my mother] was very concerned, but also hopeful that her son was going after his dream, going after a better life. 'I was 19, right? I didn't care. I was...
A New Jersey assistant teacher was suspended for allegedly calling a Muslim student a 'terrorist' after he asked for more time on a math assignment.  The unidentified staff member allegedly told 17-year-old student Mohammed Zubi he does not 'negotiate with terrorists' after the student asked for more time on an assignment on October 20.  Zubi, who attends Ridgefield Memorial High School in Ridgefield, New Jersey, and is the captain of the soccer team, told CNN he was at 'a loss for words.'  'He responded by saying: "We don't negotiate with terrorists." I looked around in shock' Zubi told ABC 7. 'There's people laughing, and there's other people in shock, and I turn around and ask my friend: "Did he really just say that?" and she said yes.'    Zubi told CNN that the teaching assistant came up to him a few minutes later and told him he didn't mean it.  'In my head, I'm just like, what other way could have meant that?' he told CNN.   The soccer captain said he felt 'really uncomfortable' following the incident on October 20 and did not...
EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (AP) — It’s hard to predict where the New York Giants are headed after playing their best game of the season in beating the struggling Carolina Panthers 25-3. The defense, which was supposed to be the heart of the team, finally had a good game in holding the Panthers without a touchdown and limiting them to 173 total yards. The offense did just enough to get by with its three top wide receivers and star running back sidelined with injuries, and the line shuffling once again because of injuries. Bottom line: coach Joe Judge and his Giants are 2-5. They are tied for second place with Philadelphia and Washington in the NFC East, 3 1/2 games behind Dallas (5-1). The Cowboys had the week off. With 10 games left in the regular season, the Giants need a big run to have a shot at making the postseason for the first time since 2016. The one thing the Giants can bank on is quarterback Daniel Jones. Now in his third season, Jones is the face of the team....

Later in the letter, the producers say the wrap announcement was a “pause rather than an end” to the production, although no greater detail was provided on the project’s future. The letter began with the producers mourning the loss of Hutchins and said they were in close contact with her family. They also said that Souza is recovering and that they are...

Vladimir Tarasenko’s tenure with the St. Louis Blues was a hot topic during the offseason after he requested a trade earlier in the summer, and again after the team left the 29-year-old winger unprotected in the 2021 NHL Expansion Draft. The organization might be thankful he’s still wearing a Blues sweater. Tarasenko broke a tie midway through the third period in St. Louis' 3-1 victory over the Vegas Golden Knights on Wednesday night. "Happy for him. He’s been working so hard," said Blues goalie Jordan Binnington, who made 42 saves. "He’s been through a lot and it’s really nice to see him be rewarded. Can’t say enough about that guy and his work ethic. We’re all happy for him and hopefully there’s more to come." During this week’s broadcast of FNC’s “The Next Revolution,” host Steve Hilton called for a “complete economic disengagement” from China. Hilton said China’s adversarial role in U.S. foreign policy is continuing to worsen over time as the country faces supply chain issues. “For decades, the establishment in both parties bought into the globalist ideology that shipping jobs and manufacturing to China was a win-win,” he said. “China becomes more democratic, we get cheaper products and a lower cost of living. But China didn’t get more free. It got more authoritarian. The only people better off here were the elites who profited from the hollowing out of America’s Heartland and our manufacturing base. We weakened ourselves while strengthening our number one enemy.” “And now look at what’s happening?” Hilton continued. “China is threatening an invasion of Taiwan, and just today, we see reports of a nuclear-capable hypersonic missile, far more advanced than anything we thought they had. We enabled this. We’ve made China richer so they can invest in the technology they’re now planning to use for world domination. And when...
