Is Notre Dame more deserving of a playoff spot than the Georgia Bulldogs? Following the Bulldogs getting smacked around by Alabama, I asked people on Twitter if Notre Dame or Georgia deserved the final playoff spot. (RELATED: David Hookstead Is The True King In The North When It Comes To College Football) Of the 1,267 voters, 50.4% voted that the Fighting Irish should go over the Bulldogs. Georgia has the 49th strength of schedule and is 12-1. Notre Dame has the 24th strength of schedule and is 11-1. Which team deserves to make the playoff? — David Hookstead (@dhookstead) December 5, 2021 I hate to burst Georgia’s bubble, but I think there is a very strong argument to be made that Notre Dame is more deserving. In fact, I’m not even sure it’s that tough of a call. Let’s break down the numbers. Georgia’s entire season was a joke. The Bulldogs were complete frauds. They didn’t play a single team that had at least 10 wins or was a legit playoff contender. Their best win was over Kentucky! Georgia finally plays a good...
Nick Saban’s Alabama football team generally doesn’t find itself as an underdog, but that was the case when the Crimson Tide met the Georgia Bulldogs in Atlanta. The Alabama football program is one of the best-run college football programs in the country. Alabama Crimson Tide head coach Nick Saban has assembled a team that has the capability to be a perennial contender to make the College Football Playoff. So it’s not often that the Crimson Tide happens to be an underdog when it goes up against literally anybody. Saban’s teams tend to win far more often than they lose (and it seems like most of those wins are incredibly lopsided), so oddsmakers generally act as if believe that Alabama will beat its foes without much of an issue. Coming into the SEC Championship Game against the Georgia Bulldogs, the Crimson Tide had a record of being favored in 92 games. But Alabama wasn’t favored against Georgia this Saturday. And, as it turns out, the last time Alabama was an underdog was when the Crimson Tide faced off against the Bulldogs a...
Tennessee football seeks the program’s first win over the Georgia Bulldogs since the Vols beat them in Athens in 2016 when the two SEC East teams meet in Week 11. The Tennessee Volunteers are looking to spoil the Georgia Bulldogs’ special season while also bringing a lopsided losing streak to an end. Historically, the series between the Vols and Bulldogs is pretty even, but Georgia has owned the series over the past few seasons. The Bulldogs have been able to win the last four meetings against Tennessee, setting up a nice winning streak and claiming a lead in the overall series against the Vols. Tennessee’s last win against Georgia happened in Sanford Stadium in 2016 as the Vols were able to miraculously pull off a comeback win and secure victory in the final moments of the game. Georgia, who at one point led 17-0 in the second quarter, ended up losing 34-31. The final few minutes of the game featured a thrilling back-and-forth couple of scores. Tennessee had just claimed a 28-24 lead over the Bulldogs thanks to a fumble recovery for...
CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) — Jason Roche had 21 points as The Citadel routed the NAIA’s Morris College 108-67 on Friday. Stephen Clark had 14 points for The Citadel (2-0). Brock Wakefield added 13 points and six rebounds. Tyler Moffe had 10 points. Clark hit a 3-pointer in transition, lifting the Bulldogs into a 5-3 lead the extended into double figures with an 18-4 run. The 108 points are the most scored by The Citadel since posting 108 against Carver Dec. 7, 2019. The victory comes three days after The Citadel’s season-opening upset of Power 5 opponent Pitt, 78-63, the Bulldogs first win against an ACC team since edging Clemson 58-56 in 1979, ending a streak of 46-straight losses to the ACC. The Georgia Bulldogs are still the top team in the country. The second round of rankings for the College Football Playoff were released Tuesday night on ESPN, and the Bulldogs were sitting in the top spot. (RELATED: David Hookstead Is The True King In The North When It Comes To College Football) Alabama is second, Oregon is third and Ohio State is fourth. The first two teams out are Cincinnati at five and Michigan at six.   View this post on Instagram   A post shared by Georgia Football (@georgiafootball) As I’ve said ever since Georgia went to number one in the AP Poll, the Bulldogs 100% deserve to be the top team in America right now. They’re 9-0 and they’ve absolutely destroyed pretty much everyone they’ve played, especially down the stretch. Other than a tight game against Clemson, nobody else has been close to beating the Bulldogs.   View this post on Instagram   A post shared by Georgia Football (@georgiafootball) As for Alabama being second, I know a lot of people are not happy about that but I can live with...
Vets have revealed the dog breeds most affected by aural haematoma, also known as a 'blood blister of the ear', a painful disease that may require treatment. The distressing canine condition consists of a pocket full of blood that develops if a blood vessel bursts inside the earflap.  One in every 400 dogs in the UK suffers from the condition each year, although fortunately it's usually very obvious and easy to diagnose.  Symptoms include a swollen and droopy earflap that develops very suddenly, redness, head shaking, ear scratching and holding the head to one side.  According to the results of a study led by Royal Veterinary College, breeds with folded ears (those that drop in a V-shape or have ears with semi erect ear carriage) have higher risk of developing it compared to breeds with erect ear carriages.   In particular, the research revealed 14 dog breeds that are particularly prone to aural haematoma, including Bull Terrier, Saint Bernard, French Bulldog, Irish Staffordshire Bull Terrier and English Bull Terrier.   Breeds that are the least at risk, meanwhile, are Greyhound, Chihuahua and Miniature...
Georgia football honored one of their greatest coaches as Mark Richt returned to Athens for the Dawgs game against the Missouri Tigers. Former Georgia Bulldogs head coach Mark Richt had one of the greatest tenures any coach has had in Athens and the Bulldogs made sure to honor him Saturday during their game against the Missouri Tigers. First, an emotional and clearly honored Richt received the opportunity to call the Dawgs, one of Georgia’s favorite traditions, one final time: Coach Richt calls the Dawgs pic.twitter.com/OpG7ADC9TU — Anthony Dasher (@AnthonyDasher1) November 6, 2021 Then the Bulldogs carved out time at halftime for their former head coach to receive some recognition for all that he accomplished while in Athens: An emotional @MarkRicht being honored at halftime in Athens pic.twitter.com/vmAzvFW4RH — Chuck Dunlap (@SEC_Chuck) November 6, 2021 Georgia Bulldogs honor former head coach Mark Richt And Richt has certainly accomplished quite a bit. Many experts believe the 88-year rivalry between the Trojans from Gordon Lee and the Bulldogs from Trion to be the oldest football rivalry in Georgia. The rivalry began 1933, and since then the two teams have faced off on the gridiron almost ninety times with records showing Trion leads the matchup 63-22-1. (the game was not played during WWII) But last year the Trojans put a beat down on the Bulldogs resulting in a 50-13 loss. A loss while 12 months old is still fresh in the minds of Bulldog nation. This is not last season teams.  The last time the Bulldogs were 8-1 was 2003, the Dome Team. The Bulldogs are ranked 14th in State and are putting up record breaking numbers averaging 41.2 points per game (a Trion record). The offensive production has Trion in the top five in points scored in the State. The Bulldog offense has scored 371 points, and the defense has only allowed 102 points or 11.3 points per game. 41 > 11...
MONTEREY PARK (CBSLA) – For nearly a century now the Theodore Roosevelt High School Rough Riders and the Garfield High School Bulldogs have faced off in the East LA Classic. This year’s matchup was the 96th between the two teams. The East LA Classic is such a monumental occasion for these two schools, and the neighborhoods that surround them, that the games have to be held at East LA College to fit the crowds. Bettors who picked Georgia to cover the spread against Kentucky got a terrible beat when the Wildcats scored in the final seconds. If you bet on Georgia -21.5 and turned off the Kentucky game early, we’ve got bad news. Hopefully, you didn’t celebrate too early. The Bulldogs were well on their way to covering that spread in yet another impressive victory over an SEC foe when they allowed a touchdown with four seconds remaining. The final touchdown for the Wildcats didn’t change the outcome of the game. It just screwed over bettors who took the Bulldogs and the points.Kentucky covered the 21.5-point spread vs. Georgia with 4 seconds leftI know this play means a lot to some people ???? @br_betting Kentucky scores a TD on the final play of the game vs. Georgia to cover the 21.5-pt spread pic.twitter.com/GYblRRo0vi — Bleacher Report (@BleacherReport) October 16, 2021 The bettors undoubtedly care more than the Bulldogs, but the score also messed with some impressive Georgia statistics. As the Mississippi State Bulldogs get set to host the Alabama Crimson Tide, when was the last time MSU was able to take down the Tide? As the Alabama Crimson Tide are fresh off a shocking road loss to the Texas A&M Aggies, Nick Saban is taking his team on the road once more to face off against Mike Leach and the Mississippi State Bulldogs. It has been well over a decade since the Mississippi State Bulldogs have found a way to beat Bama, but this particular Crimson Tide team seems more vulnerable than most when it comes to road games. Alabama struggled against a relatively up-and-down Florida team in Gainesville and then clearly lost to a bizarre Texas A&M team in College Station. Leach is looking to lead Mississippi State to its first win over Bama since the mid 2000’s. If you’re doing the math and know a bit about MSU’s history, you’d know that neither of State’s last two coaches were able to get a win against Saban or Alabama. Dan Mullen, arguably the most successful coach in...
ATHENS, Ga. (AP) — Georgia is back at No. 1 for the first time in more than a decade, led by a defense that looks like one for the ages. The Bulldogs (6-0, 4-0 Southeastern Conference) have allowed a miniscule 5.5 points a game through the first half of the regular season — and that includes a pick-six when the defense wasn’t even on the field. No wonder Kentucky, off to its best start since 1950 and ranked No. 11, is a more than three-touchdown underdog heading into Saturday’s showdown, according to FanDuel Sportsbook. It’s a matchup that very well could determine the winner of the SEC East. “They are playing at a ridiculous level defensively,” Wildcats coach Mark Stoops said. With future NFL draft picks all over the field, Georgia’s defense has surrendered two touchdowns and 26 points. Ridiculous, indeed. They have a chance to be remembered as one of the truly elite units of the modern era. Over the last 20 years, only three teams have allowed less that 10 points a game, most recently Alabama in...
No. 11 Kentucky (6-0, 4-0 SEC) at No. 1 Georgia (6-0, 4-0), Saturday at 3:30 p.m. EDT (CBS). Line: Georgia by 21 1/2, according to FanDuel Sportsbook. Series record: Georgia leads 60-12-2. WHAT’S AT STAKE? The winner gains control of the SEC East race and is likely headed for a spot in the league championship game. Georgia’s defense, which has allowed just two touchdowns all season, will look to turn in another stifling performance in its bid to go down as one of the greatest units of the modern era. Kentucky gets a chance to show it can compete with the nation’s elite programs in a sport that’s not basketball. KEY MATCHUP Kentucky’s running game vs. Georgia’s defensive front. The Wildcats, who are averaging 214.2 yards per game on the ground, must establish some sort of effective running attack to have any chance of knocking off the nation’s top-ranked team. But that’s easier said than done against a Bulldogs defense that is surrendering an average of just 64.2 yards rushing. Kentucky ranks next-to-last in the SEC in passing yards; the...

CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) — Jaylan Adams opened the game with an 80-yard touchdown pass then rushed for 188 yards to lead The Citadel to a 35-24 victory over VMI in the Bulldogs’ conference opener on Saturday. After VMI punted on the opening possession, Adams hit Raleigh Webb for the long touchdown and a 7-0 lead. Adams would complete only one more pass in the game as The Citadel’s option offense rolled up 363 yards on the ground. Logan Billings ran for 112 yards and two touchdowns for the Bulldogs (2-2, 1-0 Southern Conference) and Emeka Nwanze added 54 yards and a touchdown. Billings’s two first-half scores helped the Bulldogs take a 21-10 halftime lead. After a 3-yard touchdown run by Adams gave The Citadel a 28-17 lead late in the third quarter, Chance Knox’ 84-yard kickoff return, coupled with a personal foul on the Bulldogs, set up VMI (3-2, 1-1) at the 8-yard line. INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Cross Robinson scored on a short run in the third quarter and Drake ran out the final four minutes to secure a 6-3 victory over Butler on Saturday in the battle of the Bulldogs. Drake missed a 49-yard field goal with 5:53 remaining in the fourth, but forced a three-and-out to get the ball back. Drake ran out the clock by picking up first downs on Blake Ellingson’s 6-yard run and his 12-yard connection with Ryan Hayes. Ellingson was 13 of 23 for 181 yards for Drake (2-3, 1-1 Pioneer), which snapped a three-game losing streak. Robinson carried it 19 times for 63 yards, and Colin Howard caught four passes for 92 yards. Robinson capped a 90-yard drive with a 7-yard touchdown run to give Drake a three-point lead before the PAT was missed with 4:53 left in the third. Bret Bushka completed 12 of 20 passes for 109 yards, and he carried it 14 times for 78 yards for Butler (2-3, 0-1). Yogi Flager caught six passes for 82 yards. The Butler defense has...
When was the last time the Arkansas Razorbacks beat the Georgia Bulldogs? Well, it’s been a little over a decade since that last win. Despite the fact that both teams are in the SEC, Arkansas and Georgia don’t face each other that often. Because of the number of teams in the SEC, the way games are rotated, and that these two teams aren’t regular rivals, it’s just not a common matchup. In total, Arkansas and Georgia have only played each other 15 times. Combining that with the fact that the Razorbacks have been having a rough time with football for much of the past decade while UGA has been really solid and it’s not a shocker that it’s been a little while since the Razorbacks have beaten the Bulldogs. Georgia has actually claimed the two most recent meetings between the Bulldogs and the Razorbacks, with both games happening in the state of Arkansas. In 2014, UGA won 45-32 in Little Rock and then in 2020, Arkansas lost 37-10 in Fayetteville.Arkansas football: When was the last time the Razorbacks beat the...

The Citadel faithful doesn’t care much for Coastal Carolina coach Jamey Chadwell. That dislike figures to grow after Chadwell’s 22nd-ranked Chanticleers face their in-state FCS rival on Thursday night. Chadwell previously coached at Charleston Southern, a city rival for The Citadel, from 2013-16, where he won all four meetings with the long established Bulldogs. The Chanticleers, among the biggest surprises of last year’s COVID-19 impacted football season at 11-1, enter with their first-ever preseason ranking and hunger to show 2020 wasn’t a fluke. “I know they hate me,” Chadwell said. “But more so for us, it’s an opportunity to get our team to play.” Coastal Carolina has been on the rise since last year when it was picked last in the Sun Belt Conference East Division, yet started 11-0 and reached the league’s title game. That contest, against No. 23 Louisiana-Lafayette, was called off when the virus hit the Chants program. Coastal Carolina lost its undefeated season to Liberty as its tying field goal was blocked in overtime for a 37-34 defeat at the Cure Bowl....
Over spring and summer, Trion Football players have been working, grinding for one thing, Fall Football. The players are calling this season their “Redemption Tour”. The Bulldogs went 3-8 in the 2020 season that was plagued by the Covid-19 pandemic, quarantines, and injuries. Football season kicked off officially for the Bulldogs Friday night at Sam R. McCain Stadium featuring a rematch with the Coosa Eagles. The Bulldogs thrashed the Eagles in a 48-13 victory. In his second season as the Head Coach Sean Patrick said he felt confident going into the game, “our kids had an incredible off season and were prepared to play.” In the locker room before the game, retired Trion Coach Jimmy Rosato gave each player a zip-lock bag with a key and a peppermint in it. Aubrey Burke didn’t allow a single run against Darlington, throwing a complete game shutout and leading the Lady Dogs to a 7-0 victory on Saturday Lexi Baker collected four hits in four at bats. Baker singled in the second, singled in the third, homered in the fifth, and singled in the sixth. Trion put up four runs in the fifth inning. Baker and Madison Huskey each had RBIs in the frame. One bright spot for Darlington was a single by Ratledge in the first inning. Burke was the winning pitcher. The righthander surrendered zero runs on three hits over seven innings, striking out 11 and walking one. Hunt led things off in the pitcher’s circle for Darlington. The pitcher lasted four innings, allowing five hits and one run. Abbott threw two innings out of the bullpen. Trion smacked one home run on the day. Baker went for the long ball in the fifth inning. Trion had 11 hits in the game. Baker and Ransley Lawrence all managed multiple hits.

The Mississippi State Bulldogs are looking to lock up a Super Regional while the Campbell Fighting Camels need a win to continue their season in the 2021 NCAA Baseball Tournament. If the Mississippi State Bulldogs are going to make it to their third consecutive Super Regional, they’ll have to find a way to get through a Campbell Fighting Camels team that is seeking to prove itself against a college baseball powerhouse. The Clemson Tigers’ last season-opening loss was to Georgia in 2014, and with the Bulldogs on the schedule in Week 1, will we see history repeat itself? Kirby Smart and the Georgia football team are looking to have a solid season in 2021, but it seems likely that the Bulldogs will stumble at some point. Here’s when that first loss may happen. The Georgia Bulldogs boast one of the most talented rosters in the country. Kirby Smart, now in his sixth year leading things in Athens, has had his team consistently among the nation’s best programs in just about every season he’s been there. The problem is the Georgia football program hasn’t quite broken through to win a national championship under Smart’s leadership. UGA came close in 2017 when the Bulldogs went 13-2, won the SEC, and would go on to come second in the College Football Playoffs, losing to Alabama in heartbreaking fashion. While Georgia is a great team and consistently wins bowl games, the Bulldogs do have a bad habit of stumbling from time to time. In 2021, the Georgia football team has high hopes. The Bulldogs have the talent to compete with the best in the country, but it just seems likely that they...

Baylor basketball star Mark Vital had a very simple reason for why the Bears never relented against Gonzaga in the title game. The Bears ran the Bulldogs off of the floor 86-70, and the game was never really close. Right from the jump, Baylor was all over Gonzaga. (RELATED: David Hookstead Is The True King In The North When It Comes To College Football)   View this post on Instagram   A post shared by Baylor Basketball (@baylormbb) During an interview on College Sports on SiriusXM, Vital said Baylor kicked their “ass” because Baylor players found out Gonzaga had ordered six cases of champagne prior to the game as if they’d already won. You can listen to Vital break it all down below. ????????????@MarkVitalJr tells @sportsiren and @GabeIkard how a premature champagne order by Gonzaga motivated Baylor on Monday night. #SicEm | #TimeIsNow ???? pic.twitter.com/hYOFHWEE5a — College Sports on SiriusXM (@SXMCollege) April 7, 2021 I love everything about this story, and I’m not just saying that because I won a ton of money thanks to Baylor. INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — The big, bad Baylor Bears bullied college basketball’s beautiful game into a corner. The bid for an undefeated season, one game short. A first-time national champion, crowned. Baylor overwhelmed Gonzaga with a burst of power and speed, winning its first national championship while ending the Bulldogs’ perfect season with an 86-70 win Monday night. A two-year wait for a title game became the coronation of a team built to batter anything in its path, even the ultra-efficient Zags. Gonzaga (31-1) appeared to feel the pressure of perfection and the fatigue – mentally and physically – from playing one of the most dramatic games in Final Four history less than 48 hours earlier. The Bears (28-2) pounced with an onslaught of 3s and blow-bys off the dribble, sprinkled with five sets of sliding feet and waving arms on defense. They hit 10 3-pointers and turned Gonzaga All-American Corey Kispert into a nonfactor. The 1976 Indiana Hoosiers are still Division I’s last undefeated team. Baylor is the new king, 18 years after one of the darkest scandals the sport’s...
Gonzaga would make history with a comeback win over Baylor in Monday’s National Championship. Gonzaga got off to a nightmare start Monday against Baylor in the National Championship. An early 29-10 deficit was not what Bulldogs fans had in mind after Saturday’s magic. The good news is there is still time to launch a comeback. Doing so would also make National Championship history as the biggest comeback in the history of the event. If Gonzaga wins, it will mark the largest deficit overcome in championship game history. The record is 15 by Loyola Chicago, which trailed Cincinnati 45-30 with 14 minutes left but won in overtime in the 1963 title game. — David Worlock (@DavidWorlock) April 6, 2021 Gonzaga looking to make history in the National ChampionshipWe have to go all the way back to 1963 for such a monumental comeback. Loyola-Chicago pulled off the impossible back before Sister Jean was the team’s good luck charm. The magic happened against Cincinnati back when the National Championship wasn’t played in a massive football stadium. The atmosphere had to be absolutely electric....
INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — The Latest on the national championship game between Baylor and Gonzaga (all times EDT): 8:20 p.m. Fans are beginning to trickle into Lucas Oil Stadium for the national championship game between Baylor and Gonzaga, the overall No. 1 seed of an NCAA Tournament that has been played entirely in Indianapolis and the surrounding area. The teams were supposed to meet four months ago to the day in Indianapolis. But their highly anticipated showdown between teams ranked No. 1 and 2 in the country was canceled about two hours before tip, when an outbreak of COVID-19 within the Bulldogs program forced them to halt all team activities. Fortunately, there have been no COVID-19 issues since an early positive test caused VCU to withdraw before the tournament began. And that leaves basketball fans with a matchup of two teams that spent the entire season ranked in the top three in the AP Top 25. The Bulldogs went wire-to-wire at No. 1 and Baylor was right behind all but a couple weeks. ___ More AP college basketball: https://apnews.com/hub/College-basketball and https://twitter.com/AP_Top25...
Derek Chauvin trial: Week 2 begins after emotional start Saudi Arabia’s Unpaid Tab With Metro Builders Runs Into Billions Gonzaga's men's basketball team is undefeated headed into the 2021 NCAA Tournament. Before last year's big dance was canceled, the program had qualified for 21 consecutive tournaments going back to 1999. Gonzaga's coach the past 22 years, Mark Few, passed the 600-win mark this season and the team has won at least 23 games in each of his seasons. Nine times has Gonzaga ended up in the final top 10 of the AP rankings, reaching two Final Fours, five Elite Eights and 11 Sweet Sixteens. By every measure, Gonzaga's two-decade run as a modern powerhouse puts the program among college basketball's blue bloods. Yet, despite all the success Gonzaga has had since the turn of the century, because of being located in the Pacific Northwest, playing in the West Coast Conference and not being named in relation to a state, many bracket-filling March Madness fans still don't know much about the university. With Gonzaga set to have a No. 1 seed for the...
The 2020-21 Gonzaga Bulldogs have been rampant in pursuit of their first NCAA championship in school history. Safe to say that this is the best Bulldogs team we’ve seen in recent years as they’re yet to lose a game in the entire season. Head coach Mark Few piles all the praise on his players!  The entire NCAA Division I season has been unpredictable. The pandemic left its mark by canceling a few fixtures here and there, but there are just two games remaining in the season now. March Madness 2021 has almost reached its end and the Gonzaga Bulldogs are just two wins away from making history.  Mark Few did not come into the season thinking about an undefeated streak The Gonzaga Bulldogs don’t really seemed burdened by their undefeated streak. A lot is one the line, but they’re only taking one step at a time which is largely helping the team.  Bulldogs’ long-time head coach Mark Few deserves massive credit for the consistent displays over the years, but his modesty isn’t allowing him to take all the credit. The...

The Gonzaga Bulldogs feature the nation’s top offense in points per game, and the high-powered attack causes their top-10 defense in efficiency to go overlooked as they take on a USC team on Tuesday that thrives on post play. Coach Mark Few’s Bulldogs are the nation’s leaders in 2-point shooting percentage at 63.6, but USC is No. 1 in college basketball in 2-point shooting defense with opponents making 41.5 percent of their shots inside the arc. Second chances are also hard to come by against Gonzaga as the Bulldogs rank 19th in the percentage of missed shots opponents rebound, with just 20.6 percent of misses being corralled. Neither team allows many trips to the free-throw line, and both rank in the top 40 in free-throw-attempts to field-goal-attempt ratio. USC has given up 72 points or fewer in each of its past...
The Georgia football schedule sets the Dawgs up nicely for a run to the SEC Championship Game, but there’s always a trap game looming large. If Kirby Smart’s Georgia football team can win its two most important games, the Dawgs have a shot of getting back to Atlanta undefeated (twice). After a relatively difficult 2020 SEC-only slate, the Dawgs should have a much easier time with their 2021 season schedule. Of course, Georgia has two incredibly tough games. The Dawgs open with a neutral-site affair vs. Clemson in Charlotte. And of course, we have the major SEC East rivalry game down in Jacksonville vs. Florida. But what other games should they watch out for?Georgia football’s potential trap game for 2021 college seasonAt first glance, Georgia should go 10-2 at the very worst when looking at its 2021 schedule. These two losses would in theory be against Clemson and Florida in neutral-site affairs. While the Dawgs could very well split the pair or win both, there are a few games of note to keep an eye on. Though home vs. Arkansas...
These five potential matchups we could see in the Final Four would make March Madness even more exciting than it has already been this year. The Elite Eight is here and tickets to the Final Four are on the line. Cinderella officially left the dance when Oral Roberts’ last-second shot to beat Arkansas bounced off the front rim, leaving essentially the cream of the crop still standing with a shot to reach the final weekend of the NCAA Tournament. 1. Gonzaga vs. Michigan These two teams have been absolute heavyweights all season long and this matchup would be well worth the price of admission. Gonzaga hasn’t really been challenged all season long but the Wolverines are uniquely equipped to give the Bulldogs a real run for their money. Michigan has a tremendous interior presence with Hunter Dickinson and is one of the best defensive teams in the country while there is still plenty of firepower (even without Isaiah Livers) to score with the Bulldogs. The winner of this game could be a solid favorite in the national championship game so...
The former Georgia Bulldogs and current Buffalo Bills quarterback revealed he is engaged to his college sweetheart. The Buffalo Bills spent their offseason retaining their young core and making savvy veteran additions to their team to improve their chances of making the Super Bowl next season. As for quarterback Jake Fromm, we can say he has had a pretty good offseason himself. On Sunday, Fromm revealed on Twitter that he is officially engaged to college sweetheart Caroline Ostman, a former volleyball player for Georgia, and he proved it with photos. I can’t remember what I said, but I do know this; I love you with all my heart and want to spend everyday with you by my side. I’m so thankful God put you in my life. After making quick work of Oklahoma, Gonzaga looks to continue their quest to be one of the game’s elite. Another day, another victory for the Gonzaga Goliaths- er Bulldogs. It almost feels that way after they took care of business against the Oklahoma Sooners. After sending the Sooners home, the Bulldogs are headed back to the Sweet 16, with their perfect record still intact. Drew Timme scored a game-high 30 points and 12 rebounds to lead Gonzaga to an 87-71 win over the 8-seed Sooners. Jalen Suggs had 15 points while Corey Kispert added 14. Austin Reaves led Oklahoma with 27 points. There’s more to this run than the national championship and righting the wrongs of their fall against North Carolina. In fact, there’s history on the line. Should the Bulldogs be the team to cut down the nets this NCAA Tournament, they would become the first team since the 1975-76 Indiana Hoosiers to go undefeated through an entire basketball season. There’s no question that head coach Mark Few has history on the mind and so do the players....
The 8-seed Oklahoma Sooners look to knock off top-seeded Gonzaga in the Round of 32 of the NCAA Tournament on Monday afternoon  The 8-seed Oklahoma Sooners are slated to square off with the No. 1 overall seed Gonzaga Bulldogs after narrowly defeating 9-seed Missouri without De’Vion Harmon on Saturday. Consistency has been a problem all season long for the Sooners, but if they continue to play like a team that rarely turns the ball over and stays out of foul trouble, they can perhaps make things difficult against the Bulldogs. As for winning on Monday, all Oklahoma fans can do is hope and pray that Gonzaga has their worst game of the year just like Illinois did vs. Loyola in their Round of 32 game. Gonzaga will take a perfect 26-0 record into the 2021 NCAA men’s basketball tournament.   The Bulldogs are the 20th team to enter the tournament with a perfect record, and it set to make a 22nd straight appearance in the Big Dance for the program.   Gonzaga has maintained an incredible run of dominance out of the West Coast Conference, but that success has come with continual questions about its blue-blood credentials. Would the program’s first national championship eliminate those questions? That would be the topper on what has been an incredible statistical run since the 1998-99 season. Sporting News digs into those numbers.   MORE: Ranking the easiest, hardest paths to Final Four for each No. 1 seed Gonzaga basketball record since 1999   Gonzaga has the best record in Division I since 1999.
