The person of interest in the apparent attack at a Christmas parade in Waukesha, Wisconsin, has been identified in several reports as 39-year-old Darell E. Brooks Jr., a man with a record of several violent crimes. Both Fox News and the Associated Press have named Brooks as the individual being interviewed by police after a horrific mass casualty event occurred Sunday in the Milwaukee suburb. An SUV plowed through crowds attending a Christmas parade, wounding dozens of people, including children, and causing several fatalities. Fox News columnist and New York Post reporter Carol Markowicz named Brooks as a “suspect” later that evening, but Fox News’ official reporting has not yet classified him as a suspect. Darrell E. News sources are reporting that Darrell Edward Brooks has been named as a “person of interest” in connection with the incident in Wisconsin where the driver of a red SUV drove through a crowd of Christmas parade watchers. NBC News reports that Brooks was taken into custody, and he is being questioned over the tragedy that left at least 5 dead and dozens injured in Waukesha. While NBC reports that Brooks hasn’t been charged of a crime yet, nor has he been identified as a “suspect,” the Daily Mail identifies him as the SUV driver, and reports that his detainment is in direct connection to the incident. The motive behind the incident remains unknown. One report indicated the driver might have been fleeing another crime scene before driving into the parade route, and terrorism is not a suspected factor as of yet. Daily Mail obtained a mugshot of Brooks from the Waukesha County Sheriff’s Office relating to a previous arrest, and they state that he has a lengthy criminal history for charges that include battery, disorderly conduct, reckless endangerment...

Darrell Brooks was taken into custody as a person of interest and was being questioned in connection with the Sunday evening incident involving a red Ford Escape that plowed through barricades and into the crowd, sparking panic and unleashing mass bloodshed, NBC News first reported. The sprawling Sunday disaster left members of the Milwaukee Dancing Grannies among the dead, and at least a dozen children and a priest among the injured. NBC News cited five law enforcement officials who also noted investigators were looking into the possibility the Milwaukee resident had been fleeing an earlier incident involving a knife fight at the time of the Sunday afternoon parade. Brooks has not been charged with a crime in the Sunday incident. The Associated Press also reported Brooks was a person of interest, citing two officials. Public records show Brooks has...

After months of speculation, Alex Murdaugh’s lawyers have finally admitted the South Carolina attorney—who’s already accused of orchestrating his own murder—is a person of interest in his wife and son’s double homicide.
