x Vimeo Video You can help support my work & go behind the scenes with me over on Patreon:-) As the omicron variant spreads across the world and COVID-19 keeps killing people around the world, Republican politicians in some states have started to pay people to NOT get vaccinated. Florida, Iowa, Kansas and Tennessee have decided it’s a good idea to cut unemployment checks for people who have been fired from their jobs because they didn’t comply with vaccine mandates. Anti-vaxxer? Here’s your check! Just when you thought public health and science couldn’t get any more politicized, right wingers start paying off their favorite recently fired anti-vaccine heroes and saying that the omicron variant is a plot by the Democrats. Ugh. Meanwhile, millions of unvaccinated human petri dishes provide a fine place for the virus to keep cranking out new variants. Republicans aren’t the only ones to blame, however, some conspiracy-minded liberals are also selfishly saying no to getting a life-saving shot. And there’s plenty of blame to go around for the lagging distribution of vaccines around the world...

x Vimeo Video Republicans are going all-in with their battle against “critical race theory.” For the Party of Insurrection, critical race theory is a catch-all for anything they don’t like. It’s a lot like “cancel culture” and worrying about who uses what bathroom. In reality, critical race theory is a once fairly obscure academic term that refers to the study of institutional racism and how it impacts our laws and policies. But never mind that, there is a Culture War to fight and there are elections to be won. Onward! On the march, to the War on Critical Race Theory! Glenn Youngkin came out strong for “parental rights” and advocated banning Toni Morrison books in schools. After his win in the Virginia governor’s race, Republicans on a national scale have latched onto what must be his winning formula. Republican leader Kevin McCarthy announced he was about to unveil a “Parents’ Bill of Rights” and other leading Republicans continued to furiously tweet about the evils of critical race theory. Meanwhile, unless you happen to be an 8-year-old taking an...

Rep. Paul Gosar has doubled down on the controversial cartoon video that depicted him slaying Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, issuing a statement slamming the condemnation of the clip as an overreaction. Gosar, an Arizona Republican, said in the statement on Tuesday night that does 'not espouse violence or harm towards any Member of Congress' or President Joe Biden. It followed furious condemnation of the clip, with top Democrats in Congress calling on Republican leadership to sanction Gosar over the video. The clip shows a sword-wielding character with Gosar's superimposed face using a jetpack to soar onto a rooftop before attacking Ocasio-Cortez, who has responded by calling Gosar 'creepy' and 'a neo-Nazi fundraiser.' Gosar said in his statement: 'The cartoon depicts the symbolic nature of a battle between lawful and unlawful policies and in no way intended to be a targeted attack against Representative Cortez or Mr. Biden. It is a symbolic cartoon. It is not real life. Congressman Gosar cannot fly.' Rep. Paul Gosar has doubled down on the controversial cartoon video that depicted him slaying Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez in an...

x Vimeo Video It’s not looking too good for the U.S. leading the world on the climate front. President Biden announced some measures at the recent COP26 climate conference but not what he hoped to unveil. The centerpiece of the climate portion of Biden’s Build Back Better agenda has been gutted. . . . All thanks to one Democratic senator who has made millions in the coal business. West Virginia would reap much more benefit from the Biden agenda than from propping up an industry that has been dying for years. Unfortunately for the planet and countless species on it, Senator Joe Manchin made around $500,000 from the coal business just last year. U.S. climate leadership around the world and legislation at home is being blocked by one compromised senator from West Virginia. At this point, it looks like the fate of the globe rests in the hands of one selfish coal fiend from a town with a population of 375 people. 'Thanks to these monthly payments, every member of my family is able to get enough to eat.' As a single mom, I've gone plenty of times without eating to make sure my kids have enough food on their plates. It's just what you do as a parent. It breaks my heart to take my kids to the grocery store and say, "No, we can't afford to eat that." So when I heard about the new monthly child tax credit, which under President Joe Biden's American Rescue Plan increased the annual amount from $2,000 to $3,000 for kids over the age of 6 — and to $3,600 for children under the age of 6 — I was so relieved. For my family, it means a break from food insecurity. Thanks to these monthly payments, every member of my family is able to get enough to eat. I'm a proud registered Republican. I disagree with Joe Biden on many things. But I support his administration's plan to make this expanded child tax credit permanent....

x Vimeo Video (You can help support my work by joining me over on Patreon.) It is not looking too good for the $3.5 trillion “Build Back Better” plan that is the cornerstone of President Biden’s agenda. The reason? A small handful of Democrats who are acting far too much like Republicans. “Centrists” like Kyrsten Sinema and Joe Manchin are so determined to be the leaders of an imagined bipartisan revival they are willing to throw Biden and their own party under the bus. In reality, they are just behaving like Republicans and calling it “bipartisan.” Their reasons for doing this appear to range from satisfying their donors to exhibiting a strange mix of narcissism and new age gobblygook. This would all be a silly inside baseball political story if the stakes weren’t so high. The Build Back Better plan is primarily a mixture of long overdue social safety net measures combined with essential investments designed to combat climate change. If a big bill like this doesn’t happen now — before the midterms, when Republicans may very well...

x Vimeo Video Help support my work by joining me over on Patreon! In the weeks leading up to the California recall election, Larry Elder and Republican leaders were planting the seeds of an imaginary fraud conspiracy. Sound familiar? Just like before Donald Trump’s loss in November, prior to the recall defeat, Republicans were busy undermining voter confidence in our elections. Even though Larry Elder hasn’t cried “fraud!” since the recall was defeated — the fact that he said “they’re going to cheat, we know that” and repeatedly decried electoral “shenanigans” shows that Republican lies about election integrity aren’t limited to Donald Trump. Voter suppression and lies about widespread phantom “fraud” appear to be key components in campaigns that matter to the GOP. Thankfully, Elder will likely be spinning his tales on his radio show or Fox News and not from the California governor’s office. "The Prince" star Alan Cumming is defending the new HBO Max cartoon, which spoofs the royal family. HBO Max "The Prince" is a new HBO Max cartoon spoofing the royal family, including 8-year-old Prince George. Alan Cumming, one of the stars of the show, said "The Prince" isn't "as mean as people think." The series portrays Kate Middleton as an alcoholic and mocks the late Prince Philip's health.  Visit Insider's homepage for more stories. Alan Cumming, one of the stars of HBO Max's new show "The Prince," is insisting that the cartoon — which spoofs the royal family — isn't "as mean as people think."  The controversial show, which was inspired by Gary Janetti's Instagram account and also features voice acting by Orlando Bloom and Sophie Turner, doesn't hold back — taking jabs at everything from Kate Middleton and Prince William's marriage to Prince Harry's relationship with his son, whose name he can't even remember. But the main character of the series is Prince George, inspired by Middleton and Prince William's 8-year-old son. And he's portrayed as a...
