    PITTSBURG — A hail of bullets were fired in two separate drive-by shootings captured on surveillance video at the same housing complex, one showing two people running for their lives. Police are asking for the public’s help in finding the shooters. The shootings, which appear to be straight out of a stereotypical Hollywood move, occurred Monday and on May 5 in the El Pueblo Housing complex in the 800 block of El Pueblo Avenue. The first shooting happened during the day. Police did not say whether the gunfire injured anyone, although the targets of the first shooting appeared in the video to get away.     A California man who was repeatedly snapping driving in the rear seat of his Model 3 Tesla while it was on autopilot has been arrested for reckless driving.  Param Sharma, 25, was held overnight in Santa Rita jail on Monday after a police officer spotted him in the backseat as he entered the Bay Bridge Toll Plaza in Oakland on Monday.  California Highway Patrol were alerted to Sharma's stunts after someone posted a video of him in the rear of his Model 3 Tesla earlier this month.     An Arizona woman died Wednesday morning after a car in which she was a passenger lost control and crashed on a South Bay freeway, the California Highway Patrol said. The 52-year-old died at the scene and was not identified immediately. The CHP said she is a Phoenix, Ariz. resident. The driver of the vehicle survived with minor injuries, the CHP said. The driver wore a seatbelt, but it appears the passenger did not, the CHP said. The crash happened on northbound Interstate 680 just before 12:30 a.m., when the 2012 Infiniti lost control just south of the Jacklin Road exit.     A pair of teenagers from South Jersey was arrested in a stolen car with a loaded handgun and 80 bags of heroin, authorities said.  At 10:34 p.m. on Monday, Atlantic City Detectives Anthony Abrams and Nicholas Berardis stopped a car in the 300 block of Pennsylvania Avenue after recognizing a 16-year-old driver who did not have a valid license. The driver and passenger, 17, were arrested after the vehicle was found to have been reported stolen from Galloway, police said.  The passenger, from Atlantic City, had a loaded handgun and 80 bags of heroin, police said. He was charged with multiple drug and weapons offenses. The man, who sported a wide grin as he was being overtaken by a fellow driver in Berkeley, has been seen several times during the past week.     A driver and passenger had to be extricated from their vehicle after being involved in an early-morning crash with a tractor-trailer in Western Massachusetts. Massachusetts State Police and officers from the Chicopee Police Department responded to a crash on Route 291 shortly after 2 a.m. on Friday, May 7, when the car struck a tractor-trailer. State Police said that upon arrival, troopers found a heavily damaged car with two people inside who needed to be removed from the vehicle following the crash. It is unclear what caused the crash, which remains under investigation by State Police.  The condition of the driver and passenger was not available on Friday morning.     An 86-year-old woman from Gloucester County was killed in a collision on Monday, authorities said. Maria Calabria of Sewell was a passenger in a two-car crash in Washington Township, who later died at the hospital.  A car was traveling south on Delsea Drive in Washington Township near the intersection of Parke Place Boulevard when it collided with a car trying to make a left turn onto the boulevard from Delsea Drive, according to Washington Township police. The driver and passenger of the turning vehicle were seriously injured and taken to Cooper University Hospital Trauma Center, police said. The crash remains under investigation. Hensley was a passenger in a car involved in an earlier crash. He had stepped out of the car to check on the driver of the other vehicle, according to police. Hensley was pronounced dead at a local hospital. Leal-Corona pleaded guilty last year to vehicular homicide, vehicular assault and driving while intoxicated, news reports said. He has been in jail since his 2019 arrest.

    Police in Georgia have released bodycam video of officers running toward a burning car and rescuing an unconscious 18-year-old woman who was trapped inside. Seven officers with the Savannah Police Department responded to the scene of a crash at 11:45 p.m. Monday and observed flames spouting from the hood of a 1998 Lincoln Town car, the department said.     The passenger of a car died Sunday, April 25, when a tire that had come off a van hit the car he was riding in on the 91 Freeway in Corona, the California Highway Patrol said. It was shortly after 5 p.m. when CHP units were called to a crash blocking lanes on the westbound 91 Freeway, west of Lincoln Avenue, said Officer Juan Quintero. There they found a silver Porsche coupe with an unresponsive passenger. Corona firefighters took the passenger to a hospital but he later died from his injuries, Quintero said.     One person has died after a single-vehicle crash on Interstate 70 in Frederick County, Maryland, on Sunday. According to Maryland State Police, a Subaru Outback was heading east on I-70 near Mount Phillip Road when the driver lost control of the car and hit a roadway sign, then a guardrail.     A man wanted by police for a robbery in Reading lead officers on a pursuit last week through Route 222 and crashed his car into a median, leaving his passenger injured in an attempt to flee from police, authorities said. Officers spotted Chad M. Goldsborough, 28, leaving a convenience store and attempted to make a traffic stop in the afternoon of March 31, according to the Wyomissing Police Department. Goldsborough apparently denied officers' requests to stop and led them on a brief high-speed pursuit from Route 222 to Route 12, where his car crashed into the median, police said.     One person died and two others were injured in an overnight crash on the New Jersey Turnpike early Monday morning in Essex County. A Chevy Malibu that was disabled in the right lane was struck from behind by a Dodge Ram around 4:10 a.m. on the southbound side of the highway near milepost 105.7 in Newark, NJSP Sgt. Phillip Curry said. The Chevy was sent into the left concrete barrier and the Ram overturned, killing the passenger of the Chevy and seriously injuring the driver, Curry said  The driver of the Ram suffered moderate injuries, police said.     A gunfire exchange on a Detroit freeway Tuesday forced I-96 to close down, less than 24 hours after a shootout on the same interstate left three people dead.  An SUV was driving southbound on the freeway when another vehicle pulled up alongside it and started shooting.     A man was killed late Saturday after the speeding car he was in smashed into the back of a bus at a stop in the Bronx, according to cops. Photos from the crash site on Bartow Avenue show a silver Nissan Maxima totally crumpled at the front from where it slammed into the back of the MTA bus at around 11:15 p.m. It was going at a “high rate of speed” and crashed into the back of the bus as it sat at a stop, leaving the bus driver and two passengers with minor injuries, according to the NYPD. A car carryng two people crashed into the back of a Metropolitan Transportation Authority bus that was parked at a bus stop in the Co-op City neighborhood shortly after 11 p.m. Saturday, police said. Authorities say speed appeared to be a contributing factor in the crash, which happened Friday morning in Nessel Township. Initial reports were that a passenger car and transport bus had collided and both vehicles were engulfed in flames. The three men who died were traveling in the passenger car. The Hennepin County Attorney’s Office says Jefferson, from Robbinsdale, was convicted of second-degree murder and two counts of felony domestic assault after a two-week criminal trial. The conviction stems from the deadly attack that happened in May 29, 2020. The criminal complaint states that Jefferson was driving with his girlfriend and another passenger. Jefferson got into an argument with his girlfriend and began punching her. The victim eventually got out of the car and started walking away, then Jefferson stepped on the gas and sped at her, running her down.     VALLEJO (CBS SF) — A street race Saturday afternoon between two cars which witnesses say reached speeds of 120 miles per hour on Highway 37 near Sears Point ended with one car’s fiery crash that injured both occupants. According to the California Highway Patrol, a 1968 Corvette and another car, possibly a purple Dodge Charger, were seen racing west on Highway 37 at around 4 p.m Saturday. Witnesses said that, as the Corvette approached the intersection with Highway 29 at Sears Point, the driver lost control and crashed into a concrete barrier and the car burst into flames. The driver, identified by the CHP as a 34-year-old Fairfield man, was removed with life-threatening injuries and the other occupant escaped with minor injuries.
