Stuart Scheller was given a letter of reprimand and ordered to forfeit $5,000 of pay for one month, Fox News reported. The judge said in court Friday that he would have given a two-month forfeiture of pay had Scheller not spent nine days in pre-trial confinement, according to Fox News. The judge also recognized Scheller’s 17-year career as a Marine, but did not excuse his offenses. Scheller pled guilty to six charges Thursday in a court-martial hearing and was later found guilty of all charges, including showing contempt toward officials, disobeying an officer, disrespecting officers, failing to abide by regulation, abandoning his duties and displaying behavior unbecoming of an officer. SAN FRANCISCO — The Giants close out a three-game series Sunday against the Los Angeles Dodgers and Buster Posey will get the day off. Posey will do so on a high note, going 3-for-4 with the lone out recorded on a line drive snagged by Mookie Betts Saturday night in a 6-1 loss that left the Giants and Dodgers tied for first place in the National League West. Posey’s play offensively was a silver lining in that he’d been struggling to the point where it was fair to wonder whether what we’d seen from April through July was a last-gasp career burst that was simply delaying the inevitable. Yet it’s still worth examing whether Posey, who made the N.L. All-Star team in July with help from a carefully mapped out schedule from manager Gabe Kapler and his coaching staff, will be part of the 2022 Giants and beyond. With an RBI double to right and a pair of line-drive singles up the middle in addition to a hard-hit out, Posey made a prophet of Kapler. The...

Shericka Jackson was brutally punished for jogging over the line as she was knocked out of the women's 200 metres in dramatic fashion after carelessly slowing down at the end of her heat. What happened next was without question one of the best nights of my life as Wisconsin dominated the Wildcats to punch a ticket to the national title game. I’ve never seen an atmosphere like I did that night, and I’m not sure I will ever again. Nobody outside of the state of Wisconsin thought we had...

Visit Insider's homepage for more stories. Naomi Osaka was unrelenting as she dismantled Serena Williams during their Australian Open semifinal bout on Thursday. But once the match was over and she'd cleanly secured her 6-3, 6-4 victory, the three-time Grand Slam champion was all smiles and even had some jokes for the viewers back home. Naomi Osaka. AP Photo/Hamish Blair After a lighthearted on-court interview, Osaka walked across the court to sign the tournament's camera lens, a tradition for match winners at the Australian Open. But players often add doodles and messages alongside their autograph, and in typical 23-year-old fashion, Osaka used the opportunity to take a jab at her older sister, Mari....
Tigres won a great victory over Palmeiras, 1-0 thanks to André-Pierre Gignac and a penalty, and managed to reach the final of the Club World Cup, for which they will sign – whatever happens – the best performance of a team Mexican in said tournament. Social media, immediately ending the game, they started posting memes for the great victory of the Tigers. Within the first memes It was regarding the people who expected Tigres to lose, due to the statements where they said they did not represent Mexico, and that they will be against him again in the final. With The Simpsons, another meme emerged that unlike the previous one, put Tigres as champion because “A congenital heart defect has caused the death of all Bayern Munich players minutes before the game starts », clear reference to one of the episodes of the yellow family. – I’m not going to lie to you #Tigres, it is very possible that you will beat Bayern in the final of the # MundialDeClubes … But you have to visualize how you are going...

The final secret in Nier: Automata has been discovered, allowing you to skip straight to the final moments of the game. The code is only able to be used after defeating the prologue boss, Marx. After talking to 9S, you’ll need to place 2B between two sets of barrels in the empty boss room. While holding down R2 on the controller, you’ll need to press up, down, up, right, left, square, circle, triangle, and cross — in that order. You’ll need to keep 2B between the two barrels, but you can pause the game and use the cheat code to help you do so. After doing that, the game will skip to the post-credits scene, as well as unlock the chapter select feature and some debugging features. Unlocking these features normally require you to clear the multitude of Nier endings, so this is a good time saver if you want to just replay certain bits of the game. However, it’s not recommended if you haven’t played the game yet. The code was found by modder Lance McDonald, who discovered the...
Rep. Louie Gohmert is genuinely the best shot Donald Trump has now at defeating democracy Today on “The Fall of the American Republic” … Donald Trump is still planning to hold a wild rumpus in Washington D.C. on January 6 to bring pressure on the Senate  as it completes the certification of the Electoral College vote. And most-Trumpian Rep. Louie Gohmert has filed a suit against Mike Pence telling him to refuse to read out the votes from “disputed” states, and instead just go on and insert the names of Trump electors. With Rudy Giuliani, Sidney Powell, and the other members of Trump’s cracked legal team largely back at sea to fish for fresh krakens, this effort from Gohmert appears to be all that remains of Trump’s coup attempt. Well … all that remains except for the plan put forward by Michael Flynn where Trump just declares martial law, throws out the election, and announces there will be another vote one of these days. That one will remain on the table right up until Joe Biden raises his hand. But the problem with...

States are introducing curfews, setting up COVID-19 checkpoints and issuing stay at home orders as officials hope to avoid a spike in coronavirus cases linked to Thanksgiving travel at the 11th hour. Yet millions have already traveled, packing airports and train stations across the country in defiance of the CDC's guidance.     The approach to the Thanksgiving weekend and the travel crackdown have varied dramatically in different states.  In Los Angeles, travelers into the city’s airports will be required to fill out a form acknowledging the recommendation to quarantine for 14 days after arrival while in New York City, extra COVID-19 checkpoints have been set up at bridges and tunnels to warn travelers of the quarantine requirements. In Pennsylvania, Gov. Tom Wolf announced that law enforcement would be stepping up efforts to enforce the state’s safety plan, which requires people entering from a different state - whether Pennsylvania residents or not - to test negative for the virus within 72 hours before they arrive in the commonwealth. In Maryland, ‘High Visibility Compliance Units’ will patrol to ensure no large gatherings and in...

Player quarantine and when they can land in Australia has to be decided before a decision on the dates can be made. After his semifinal, Nadal also reiterated that everybody has to patiently wait for any clarity on the Grand Slam. “We need to wait about what the government from Victoria says, we can’t do much from ATP position just wait. We are nobody to say what they feels is better for his country now. So we just need to be patient and accept the situation that we are facing,” Nadal said. It's not like the framers of our Constitution or the crafters of federal election law never envisioned the challenge of contested elections and prepared a method for resolution. In fact, they did prepare for this scenario, and they clearly intended for the state legislatures to have the most power to resolve any conflict over the validity of election results. Last week, I wrote an article reminding Republican-controlled legislative bodies in states with widespread concerns of voter fraud that the Constitution vests in them the ultimate authority to appoint presidential electors. I noted that, because the Constitution allows them to completely bypass a popular vote when selecting those electors, they can certainly decide, if the preponderance of evidence indicates the results are tainted, how they wish to choose those who ultimately cast the ballot for the president. Several state legislators in key states have reached out to me expressing interest in reclaiming their authority rather than allowing the courts (or worse, the media) to have the final say. However, some have expressed concerns about limitations on their power, given...

UEFA have pleaded with Fifa to change the “unfair” handball laws - after another night of VAR controversy. Chelsea’s second penalty in their 3-0 Champions League win over Rennes left the French side shocked by both the VAR spot-kick award and the second yellow card for defender Dalbert Henrique. 3UEFA have intervened after widespread dismay over a handball incident between Chelsea and Rennes last night Credit: News Group Newspapers Ltd BT pundit Rio Ferdinand slammed German referee Felix Swayer for an “absolute disgrace” of a decision, with Timo Werner slotting home his second penalty of the night. And now Uefa President Aleksander Ceferin has stepped into the ongoing rows over the handball Laws by urging Fifa boss Gianni Infantino to intervene. In a letter to Zurich, Ceferin said: “The attempt to strictly define the cases where handling the ball is an offense has resulted in many unfair decisions which have been met with growing frustration and discomfort by the football community." Despite being the wealthiest and most powerful of Fifa’s Confederations, Uefa has NO place on the Law-making International FA...

More than 55 million people tuned in to watch the final presidential debate between President Trump and Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden, according to preliminary Nielsen TV ratings. Fox News led the way, with nearly 15 million people tuning in to watch the two candidates on Thursday night. ABC and NBC eclipsed 10 million viewers, while CNN, MSNBC, and CBS took up the rear, with more than 5 million viewers apiece. The number of total viewers will go up as additional information regarding streaming services and other platforms are factored into play. The first presidential debate between Trump and Biden had more than 70 million viewers, as 62 million people watched it on those six news channels. It was widely criticized by journalists and pundits for interruptions, personal attacks, and exasperated calls from the moderator to try to quell the overlapping dialogue. The second and final debate was widely viewed as much more successful, as both candidates more frequently allowed the other person to finish before rebutting. The moderator, NBC's Kristen Welker, was also widely praised for her tough...
