New Orleans Saints quarterback Taysom Hill didn’t play well during a 27-17 loss to the Cowboys. Hill got the starting nod Thursday night against Dallas as New Orleans tried to shake things up, but it wasn’t pretty. Well, after throwing four interceptions Thursday night against the Cowboys, I think people are going to quickly fall into the camp that he’s not. Every quarterback turns the ball over from time to time. It’s just part of the game. Taysom...

The New Orleans Saints, playing a home game in Jacksonville because of the damage from Hurricane Ida, gave them a 38-3 drubbing in the season opener, the worst loss of the Aaron Rodgers era. Rodgers still explained why one went awry on Monday, and -- if true -- it's completely understandable why. © Provided by CBS Sports In an interview on "The Pat McAfee Show," Rodgers told the former All-Pro punter the first of his two interceptions resulted from a pair of shots to his groin.  "I don't like to make a lot of excuses for interceptions," Rodgers said just before making one. New Orleans Saints receiver Marquez Callaway made an absurd touchdown catch Monday night against the Jaguars. The Green Bay Packers will play the New Orleans Saints, with or without Aaron Rodgers. There are no guarantees that Aaron Rodgers will still be the team’s franchise quarterback when the Green Bay Packers begin the 2021 NFL season on the road vs. the New Orleans Saints. With the 2021 NFL regular-season schedule being officially released on Wednesday night, a handful of marquee games will leak out in the lead-up to it, including the first FOX’s America’s Game of the Week between the Packers and Saints as reported by Aaron Nagler. The Saints dominated that game from start to finish, but they got some help from the Chicago when Bears receiver Javon Wims dropped a wide open touchdown pass off a brilliant trick play during the first quarter. Sean Payton must have liked what he saw, because he used the exact same play against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers the next week. Only this time, the Saints caught the pass and it resulted in a touchdown. Tom Brady and Drew Brees have met 7 times in the past. But in their next matchup, the stakes will be as high as ever. Meeting for the first time in the Playoffs, the 2 greats of the game will be hoping to book their tickets for the NFC Championship game with a win on Sunday.  The two sides have meant earlier in the season, twice. And both times, it’s been the New Orleans Saints who’ve come out on top. The Chicago Bears quarterback says the team will play the New Orleans Saints like they have nothing to lose. It wasn’t the most ideal way, but the Chicago Bears clinched the seventh seed in the NFC in the final week of the season. The Bears ended up losing to the rival Green Bay Packers 35-16 but earned their playoff berth after the Los Angeles Rams defeated the Arizona Cardinals 18-7. After falling nearly backwards into the postseason, the Bears now have to face the New Orleans Saints. Both teams are turning things around in the Week 5 “Monday Night Football” match. Saints (2-2) are sometimes sharp and flat in others. That’s a lot due to the play of senior quarterback Drew Breeze, who will miss even one step in the 15th season of his Hall of Fame career. With four games, he has completed 1,006 yards (251.5 yards per game), 71.3 percent of his pass for eight touchdowns and two interceptions; This is not a bad line, but it is noticeable from the numbers he has created over the years. The Chargers (1-3) sometimes saw power with rookie quarterback Justin Herbert. Herbert threw 931 yards in his first three starts, second only to NFL history (behind Cam Newton’s 1,012 passing yards in 2011). Rookie quarterback played a big role in keeping the games close, but the chargers were unable to close the games. All three losses were one-score games, so don’t be surprised if this is another close affair. Maybe Matt Patricia should have some respect for the process. In Patricia’s third year with the Lions, it’s time to see the team bear some fruit of his labor. Photo by Kyle Zedaker via Tampa Bay BucsLast week it was Mike Evans, this week it’s Chris Godwin. Godwin entered concussion protocol this Wednesday after taking a big hit to the head during Sunday’s game versus the Saints. Godwin racked up 6 catches for 79 yards in the loss and is coming off a 1,000 yard season last year.
