David Letterman is being slammed for a 2013 interview with Lindsay Lohan, in which he pestered her for details about her rehab plans and addiction issues while the audience laughed. On September 4, 2013, Lindsay, then 27, visited the Late Show with David Letterman to promote Scary Movie 5 — but within minutes of sitting down next to the host, Lindsay was peppered with invasive and at times mocking questions about her personal struggles, including a recent stay at a facility that provides treatment for alcohol and drug abuse. While the interview clearly upset Lindsay, now 34, it didn't seem to bother very many viewers at the time — but a clip from the show has recently resurfaced on TikTok, where commenters are praising Lindsay for keeping her cool and condemning Letterman for his insensitivity.

Acclaimed historians are hitting out at a chairman in charge of renaming San Francisco schools after he refused to consult them during the decision-making process.  Earlier this week, the San Francisco Board of Education voted 6-1 to strip 44 public schools of their current monikers because they honor 'racist' figures from American history.  Schools named after politicians including  George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, and Abraham Lincoln are now set to be rebranded in the coming months.  The controversial decision comes three years after a task force was established to study the names of the city's 125 schools to determine which ones needed to be replaced amid a nationwide reckoning on race. Activist and teacher Jeremiah Jeffries served as committee chair on the task force and is said to have 'ridiculed' a proposal to bring in historians for consultation.   Jeffries reportedly stated: 'What would be the point? History is written and documented pretty...

(CNN)President Donald Trump's personal lawyer Rudy Giuliani personally voted in the 2020 election using a voting method he publicly disparaged and bashed in his attempts to overthrow the presidential election results, a CNN KFile investigation has found. Giuliani, the former mayor of New York City, voted in Manhattan by an affidavit ballot, also known as a provisional ballot, after his name did not appear on the voter rolls when he showed up to vote. According to records obtained by CNN's KFile, Giuliani's registration was moved to his Long Island home in August and his registration in New York City was purged in September. Giuliani told CNN he did not know why his registration was moved to his Long Island home in August and contested that he changed his registration at all. Giuliani swore in an affidavit oath that he was registered to vote in the Manhattan district and cast his...
Leo Messi was the negative side of the Super Cup final, leaving a very discreet football performance and starring in an ugly action with Asier Villalibre for which he ended up expelled, already in the discount of the extra time. Frustration and despair invaded the Argentine and he ended up paying for it with a provocative Villalibre. In an action in which Messi drives the ball, the Basque striker pushes the Argentine, who does not fall, and when the ball yields and starts in the race, he gives him a push again. The Barça captain hooked up with Athletic’s captain and gave him a slap that was soon noticed by the referees of the match. Gil Manzano stopped the match and went to consult the action with the VAR, to finally verify that Messi’s action was an attack, for which he ended up being expelled.

New York Governor Andrew Cuomo has said that the state's upstate case of 'super-COVID' was in fact 'connected to UK travel', as he called on the federal government to implement mandatory testing for all people entering the U.S. The jewelry store worker in Saratoga Springs, a man in his 60s, was initially believed to have contracted the highly contagious UK variant through untraceable community spread, but now Cuomo says that isn't the case. 'In the contact tracing, it appears that that person was in contact with a person who traveled from the UK to the United States,' Cuomo said at a press conference on Wednesday, without offering further details. Cuomo used the case to bolster his argument for mandatory virus testing at the border, and accused the federal government of acting too slowly by waiting until December 28 to implement mandatory testing for UK travelers after the variant strain plunged...

The odds of Trump declaring a self pardon just went up a bunch — Preet Bharara (@PreetBharara) January 3, 2021 The current dialogue about presidential self–pardon stretches back to even before the current administration. One thing is 100 percent clear, however: This federal pardon power does not touch state law. Speaking with Mediaite editor-in-chief Aidan McLaughlin, for Mediaite’s new podcast The Interview in late August, Lemon embraced the burden he feels to speak out against racial injustice in the United States, “because who else is going to do it?” “I am much more vocal about speaking out, I don’t worry about offending people anymore,” he says. “We’re past the point of offense. President Donald Trump resumed his attack Friday on the Defense bill barreling its way through Congress – this time elevating a split over Confederate monuments. But his urgent pubic appeals may have come too late – congressional negotiators have refused to yield on his two most desperately sought provisions, and House Democratic leaders now claim they have the votes to override a veto.  The president appeared to reference a provision on monuments – although he referenced U.S. National Parks rather than U.S. military bases, where the charged issue of monuments and names honoring the confederacy is playing out. 'A provision is in the NDAA for the renaming, or even desecration, of National Monuments in National Parks. This is not what our Country wants!' Trump tweeted. The National Defense Authorization Act, which lawmakers consider a must-pass vehicle to shape U.S. defense policy, contains a section to establish a commission on renaming...

The actor Dwayne johnson has made clear in his last interview his desire to look back in some way to recreate that cinematographic experience that opened the doors of Hollywood. Indeed, the famous and beloved interpreter is convinced that his successful film ‘The scorpion king’, from 2002, should be updated for a new generation, as the addictiveness of the plot and its action scenes will hopefully drag as many people into the movies as the original did. But the reasons that have encouraged the artist to resurrect the burly and heroic warrior are not only linked to the profitability that the possible project will undoubtedly offer, for which Dwayne has already contacted various production companies and the multinational Universal. And is that the own Dwayne He has acknowledged that he is occasionally nostalgic as he recalls how the film was a turning point in his...

In his first public comments since an angry statement after the race was first called for Joe Biden, Trump tried out a new message: He had set a new record for votes received by an incumbent president. 71,000,000 Legal Votes. The most EVER for a sitting President! — Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) November 7, 2020 This spin was previously embraced by his longtime mouthpiece, Breitbart, which noted that Trump improved on Barack Obama’s 2012 showing by half a million votes: President Donald Trump has received more popular votes than any of his predecessors, with over 70...
President Donald Trump hopes to regain election momentum from former Vice President Joe Biden with a series of lawsuits. The Trump campaign filed suits in three states on Wednesday — Georgia, Michigan, and Pennsylvania — and is having conversations about potentially filing a similar suit in Arizona. All of the suits seek to halt mail-ballot counting until campaign operatives are granted some type of “meaningful access” to ballot counting locations and are allowed to review all previously opened and counted ballots to verify the tally. The Georgia suit in particular focuses on Chatham County and looks to separate ballots received after 7:00pm on Election Day from the total, citing an allegation from a ballot counter who claimed to have seen a stack of 53 ballots added for processing, despite being received after the 7:00pm deadline. US President Donald Trump speaks during election night in the East Room of the White...
Angela Weiss/AFP/Getty Images An Axios report with a misleading headline suggests former Vice President Joe Biden is reconsidering his cabinet picks in light of Republican Senate wins, but the only attributed source is one connected to Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell. The report — entitled “GOP Senate wins wreak havoc on Biden transition plans” and bylined to Hans Nichols and Mike Allen — opens by claiming “Republicans’ likely hold on the Senate is forcing Joe Biden’s transition team to consider limiting its prospective Cabinet nominees to those who Mitch McConnell can live with, according to people familiar with the matter.” But the only source attributed in the article is one that would have dubious knowledge of Biden’s plans: A source close to McConnell tells Axios a Republican Senate would work with Biden on centrist nominees but no “radical progressives” or ones who are controversial with conservatives. The article goes on...

Twitter and Facebook censored President Trump again on Monday night, the eve of the election, by slapping warnings on his posts about late mail-in voting in Pennsylvania and how it could be 'dangerous'. Trump has been railing against a Supreme Court decision that was made last week that will allow Pennsylvania to count votes until three days after the election, if they are postmarked with a date showing they were sent on November 3.  It could mean a delay in the result in Pennsylvania which is a key battleground state and could sway the election.  Tensions in Philadelphia, the state's capital, are already flaring after the police killing of Walter Wallace Jr. Trump on Monday night posted the same message on Facebook and Twitter, writing: 'The Supreme Court decision on voting in Pennsylvania is a VERY dangerous one.  Facebook and Twitter censored Trump's posts on Monday night...
