With the Winter Olympics only three months away, the United States is facing a rapidly approaching deadline about what to do regarding the host country: China . The Biden administration has previously spoken about the possibility of a diplomatic boycott of the Beijing Games, which are scheduled to take place from Feb. 4-20, though it's unclear when that decision could be made. Rep. Anthony Gonzalez, who played in the NFL before running for Congress, called the decision about a possible diplomatic boycott “a no-brainer,” in an interview with the Washington Examiner. He referenced the genocide, as deemed by both the Trump and Biden administrations , that the Chinese government is committing against the Uyghurs. IT can be expensive to decorate a Christmas tree, with decorations, lights and baubles often costing an arm and a leg. However, one mum has come up with a clever way of creating a colourful and entirely unique tree for this festive season - made entirely out of BALLOONS. 1Corinne McEleney showed off her amazing balloon tree and matching candy canes on FacebookCredit: Corinne McEleney Corinne McEleney took to the Family Lowdown Tips & Ideas group on Facebook to share a picture of her amazing tree, which her friend made for her. "This year our tree is made of balloons because nothing about 2021 is 'normal'," Corinne wrote. As well as the tree itself, which was made up of red, green and white balloons, complete with a gold star balloon on the top, she had also made two candy cane balloons which were placed either side of the television. And in contrast to the usual cost of Christmas decorations, the cost of the tree and the candy cane balloons was a modest £40. However,...

John Harbaugh’s decision to attempt a 2-point conversion to defeat the Pittsburgh Steelers rather than settle for a Justin Tucker extra point to go into overtime will be the subject of much debate this week. But not to his players, many of whom defended their head coach’s line of thinking that resulted in a 20-19 loss at Heinz Field in Pittsburgh on Sunday. “If we would have converted that 2-point conversion, we would be having a different conversation now,” inside linebacker Josh Bynes said. “Let’s just be real. We’d be talking about all of these ways we find a way to win and all of the other stuff. At the end of the day, they found a way to make the one play, and we didn’t. that’s what it came down to, and that’s what these games are all about, especially this late in the season. They made that one extra play, and that’s all that matters.” The final two minutes represented a roller coaster ride of emotions for Ravens fans. After the defense gave up a...
BALTIMORE (WJZ) — Down by one point against the Pittsburgh Steelers with 12 seconds left in Sunday’s game, John Harbaugh went for two instead of kicking the extra point and going to overtime. The play design was great because it left tight end Mark Andrews wide open, but Lamar Jackson couldn’t deliver the throw on target. READ MORE: Maryland's Health Department Compromised After CyberattackThe result? The Ravens (8-4) took a heartbreaking 20-19 loss, which dropped them to third place in the AFC, and kept their divisional rivals’ playoff hopes alive. The big question is why not take your chances overtime with a Steelers’ team that’s been struggling all year on offense? After all, Jackson proved on the final drive that the offense could move the ball effectively on their defense. Sure, analytics might say to be aggressive in that situation, but Justin Tucker is automatic from just about the midfield logo. Sen. John Kennedy (R-LA) blasted Democrats’ Build Back Better Act on Sunday, claiming the only way “to improve it is with a shredder.” Asked by host Maria Bartiromo what he expects the Senate will accomplish before the new year, Kennedy replied, “If your question is will Build Back Better be brought before the Senate, I think only Joe Manchin knows answer to that, and perhaps Senator Sinema.” Both Sens. Manchin (D-WV) and Krysten Sinema (D-AZ) have expressed concerns about the size and scope of the bill, prompting ongoing negotiations within the Democratic party. “I think Senator Manchin understands, Maria, in his heart that this is a bad bill, bad social policy, bad economic policy,” Kennedy said. “When I first heard about the Build Back Better Bill, I thought to myself, you know, this is satire, right?” Kennedy went on to say he “was amazed beyond imagination” to learn of the bill’s components, which include tax credits to fight climate change, free universal pre-K, four weeks of paid leave for U.S. workers, and an expansion of Medicare. “The only way I...

IT would be wrong to blame lockdown for the heart-rending fate of six-year-old Arthur Labinjo-Hughes. The US is considering lifting its South Africa travel ban as the COVID-19 Omicron variant blazes through at least 15 states and 40 countries, says White House chief medical advisor Dr. Anthony Fauci. President Joe Biden locked eight South African countries out of the US last Monday in fear of the new super mutant COVID variant, and the ban remains in place despite travel remaining open to other foreign countries. Although the Omicron variant was first identified in South Africa, it was later revealed that a case of the variant was confirmed in Europe a week before cases were detected in South Africa.  United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres last Wednesday said it was 'deeply unfair' to isolate a single region, calling the ban 'travel apartheid.' But Fauci said Sunday that the restrictions were made during a time when an explosion of Omicron cases were rocking South Africa as the severity of the variant remained unknown. He said US officials are now reevaluating the restrictions.  'When the ban was put on, it was put to give us time to figure out...
WHENEVER you talk about electric cars, many petrolheads still chuckle. They probably haven’t sat in a Porsche Taycan Turbo S. The Michigan school where a student killed four teens and wounded seven other people is defending its handling of the suspect’s troubling behavior while promising an outside investigation into its actions. In a letter released Saturday, Oxford Community Schools Superintendent Tim Throne admitted that school officials accepted Ethan Crumbley’s explanations into why he was looking at pictures of bullets on his phone and had drawn violent images and statements—and then sent him to class when his parents refused to take him home. “Given the fact that the child had no prior disciplinary infractions, the decision was made [that] he would be returned to the classroom rather than sent home to an empty house,” Throne wrote. “These incidents remained at the guidance counselor level and were never elevated to the principal or assistant principal’s office.”
The Biden administration has plenty of options to make good on its pledge to punish Russia financially if President Vladimir Putin invades Ukraine, from sanctions targeting Putin’s associates to cutting Russia off from the financial system that sends money flowing around the world. The United States and European allies have made no public mention of any plans to respond militarily themselves if Putin sends troops massed along the border into Ukraine, a former Soviet republic with close historical and cultural ties to Russia but now eager to ally with NATO and the West. Life with Tim Conway was like a "fun circus" for his daughter Kelly Conway – but it was no laughing matter when it came to his care in the later years. The comedian who won four Emmys on Carol Burnett’s variety show, starred aboard "McHale’s Navy" and voiced the role of Barnacle Boy for "SpongeBob SquarePants" died in 2019 at age 85. Shortly before his death, Kelly’s stepmother, Charlene Conway, was granted conservatorship, ending a lengthy legal battle over his care. Conway and his first wife, Mary Anne Dalton, were married in 1961 and had six children. The marriage ended in 1978. The star remarried to Charlene in 1984 and they remained together until his death. Most recently, Kelly wrote a memoir titled "My Dad’s Funnier than Your Dad: Growing Up with Tim Conway in the Funniest House of America," which is due to hit bookshelves on Dec. 30. Charlene didn’t immediately respond to Fox News’ request for comment regarding the book and the allegations made by Kelly. THE pilot of doomed jet MH370 that mysteriously vanished over the Indian Ocean may have taken the whole aircraft hostage, a Brit engineer has claimed. The missing Malaysian Airlines plane vanished in 2014 with 239 on board en route to Beijing from Kuala Lumpur. 4 Richard Godfrey, 71, has been using new tracking technology in a bid to solve one of the greatest aviation mysteries in history. The engineer believes he has pinpointed the Boeing 777's exact resting place - on the sea bed some 1,200 miles west of Perth, Australia. But the question remains why the flight from Malaysia to China veered so wildly off course? Mr Godfrey, who lives in Germany, believes the pilot Captain Zaharie Ahmad Shah had a political motive, he told The Times. And he believes some information is still being covered up by the Malaysia government some seven years on. The key clue appears to be the 22 minute holding pattern which MH370 inexplicably entered off the coast of Sumatra. Most read in US NewsSICK EVIDENCE Epstein's 'Twin Torpedo' sex toys...

Dec. 5, 2021, marks 120 years since the birth of American icon Walt Disney. As he said, "It's kind of fun to do the impossible," and he should know.               more   U.S. Representative Steve Cohen (D-TN-09) this week said states that want to enact pro-life policies, including Mississippi, are on the same level morally as states that legalized slavery more than 160 years ago. Cohen made his remarks on the floor of the U.S. House. He referred to Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization, a case that recently went before the U.S. Supreme Court. The pending case pertains to the constitutionality of a Mississippi law that banned abortions after the first 15 weeks of pregnancy. Cohen said the case threatens abortion access throughout the country. “Women have a right to choose. It is a personal right and it’s enshrined in Roe v. Wade. Roe v. Wade was approved by the Supreme Court when I was in law school. The right of a woman to choose is a part of my political DNA. I hope it never changes,” Cohen said. “One of the justices asked one of the attorneys addressing the court ‘Why don’t we just leave it to the states?’ One of the last times Mississippi and its Confederate...
more   A University of Georgia (UGA) professor said in a recent column that the not guilty verdict in the Kyle Rittenhouse trial will motivate members of the political right to inflict violence upon the left. That professor, Cas Mudde, teaches international affairs, according to his UGA profile. “We know that ‘self-defense’ – often better known as vigilantism – is legally protected and highly racialized in this country. Think of the acquittal of George Zimmerman of the killing of Trayvon Martin in 2013,” Mudde wrote in a Guardian column. “In essence, the Rittenhouse ruling has created a kind of ‘stand your ground’ law for the whole country. White people now have the apparent right to travel around the country, heavily armed, and use violence to protect the country from whatever and whoever they believe to be threatening to it. Given the feverish paranoia and racism that has captured a sizeable minority of white people in the U.S. these days, this is a recipe for disaster.” The Rittenhouse verdict, Mudde went to on to say, gives “rightwing vigilantes a legal precedent to...
The naked gown trend is a staple of the red carpet, but a new 'it dress' is taking things to new levels - thanks to mostly sheer fabric, multiple cut outs and barely- there straps.  The see-through creation, costing £1,400, is the work of Albania-born Central Saint Martins alumna, Nensi Dojaka, 28, who not surprisingly studied lingerie design for her undergraduate degree and MA. A-listers including Zendaya, Emily Ratajkowski, Hailey Bieber to Jourdan Dunn have all been spotted in variations on her famous frock, which is so skimpy it's impossible to wear a bra underneath.  Nensi has quickly risen to fashion darling status among celebrities and the industry landing the emerging designer talent gong at this week's British Fashion Awards, and the prestigious LVMH prize for young designers earlier this year. But while the high street is usually quick to rush out its own copies of the latest celebrity trend can any mere mortal without a supermodel body ever get away with wearing one of Nensi's ultra-skimpy designs? 'These are not easy dresses to wear for most women. There is nowhere to...
