He is a monster.” HUMAN REMAINS FOUND DURING SEARCH FOR MISSING AMISH WOMAN The victimized daughters told their mother about the abuse in 2019. CASTRO VALLEY —  The unforgettable horror that would last a year began when she was 12, with daily inappropriate  touching of different parts of her body, including her vagina and buttocks. It quickly escalated to rape and other sex acts that went on for months despite her pleas to the alleged assailant to stop that fell on deaf ears, authorities said. The terrifying acts that authorities and court records allege were committed by the then boyfriend of the girl’s mother,  ended in December 2016 when her mother broke up with him and she and her children moved out of the Castro Valley home where they had been living with him. The now 18-year-old woman never told her family at the time about her ordeal but wrote a graphic, emotional  poem on her computer that described what she had gone through. It was that poem, which her mother discovered on the computer in June, that initiated an investigation by the Alameda County Sheriff’s Office Special Victims Unit. The investigation led to the filing in September of 12 felony crimes, including multiple...

Two Ohio police officers who shot and killed an unarmed black man, 23, who was sleeping in his car, will avoid jail time due to qualified immunity, leaving the family in agony, a lawyer claims.  Euclid Police Department (EPD) officers Matthew Rhodes and Louis Catalani have not yet been brought to justice after Rhodes' shot Luke Stewart five times in 2017 after dragging him out of his car, the family's lawyer, Sarah Gelsomino, said, and it's unlikely they ever will as a grand jury has declined to indict them.   'Qualified immunity was meant to protect officers from gray areas and unforeseeable changes in the law,' Gelsomino wrote in an opinion piece for USA Today Thursday.   'Officers can be held liable only for violations of clearly established laws, and they are protected when they had no advance notice that their conduct would be unconstitutional.  'The quest of what is "clearly established" is constantly in flux but has generally been interpreted in a manner that protects police even when they demonstrate a lack of concern for people's lives and safety,' she wrote.   Luke...

Unvaccinated people are less likely to contract COVID-19 if members of their family have some sort of immunity against the virus, a new study suggests. Researchers from Umeå University, in northeast Sweden, found Covid vaccines not only protect people who have received the shot, but others around them as well. If an unvaccinated person within a five person family unit - with the other four members either having received the jab or acquired natural immunity via infection - their risk of contracting the virus was reduced by 97 percent.  There was also a direct correlation between the share of family members vaccinated and a lowered risk of infection. Living in a family with multiple people having immunity to the virus reduced the risk of catching the virus for non-immune people. Researchers found that four immune people within a five person family reduces risk for the other person by over 97% (bottom right). The risk of infection increases as less people in the family get jabbed Experts believe the target for herd immunity is 80% of a population having immunity to the...

The Plymouth 'incel' gunman who shot five innocent victims in a murderous rampage was the son of a 'violent thug' who was previously jailed for attacking a fisherman. Self-described 'f***ing fat ugly virgin' and bodybuilder Jake Davison, 22, murdered his mother Maxine, 51, after bursting into her home in the Devon city with a pump-action shotgun on Thursday night. Without saying a word Davison, dressed in black, then gunned down Sophie Martyn, 3, and her father Lee, 43, who were walking up the road. After murdering the pair, Davison walked to an adjacent area of parkland and opened fire on dogwalker Stephen Washington, 59, before killing Kate Shepherd, 66, outside of Blush hair salon. He then turned the gun on himself, concluding his 12-minute bloody rampage that was the worst mass shooting seen in Britain since 2010. But family friends have since reported that Jake's father, Mark Davison, is allegedly a violent thug who was once jailed for assaulting a fisherman in the Shetland Islands seven years ago. Mark Davison is described as a 'violent and dangerous individual', and faced...
