DALLAS (AP) — Jacob Peterson made good on a second chance at the go-ahead goal, and the Dallas Stars tied a franchise record with their seventh consecutive win, beating the Arizona Coyotes 4-1 on Monday night. As the Minnesota North Stars and Dallas Stars, the franchise has had five seven-game winning streaks in 54 seasons. The Stars’ streak is currently the longest in the NHL. Jamie Benn scored twice in a span of about two minutes late in the third period for the Stars — one on the power play — and Roope Hintz also had a goal. Braden Holtby had 18 saves. Shayne Gostisbehere scored Arizona’s only goal, and goalie Scott Wedgewood had 23 saves. Hintz scored first with about 6 minutes left in the first period. Jason Robertson passed in front to Hintz for a wrist shot that beat Wedgewood. Arizona had little to show for outshooting the Stars 9-7 and killing the only two penalties in the first. Gostisbehere spoiled Holtby’s chance for his 36th career shutout 3:09 into the second period. Clayton Keller passed ahead to...
A MONSTER stabbed a dad to death in front of his four-year-old son in a brutal road rage attack. Alexander Layton, 34, plunged the carving knife into James Stokoe, 40, as he sat in his BMW following a row over crossing the road. 2James Stokoe was murdered in front of his sonCredit: NCJ MEDIA James' young son was strapped in his car seat as his dad bled to death within just minutes. The killer calmly picked up his shopping bags and walked away from the horror in Stockton-on-Tees, County Durham, last May. He later sobbed as he claimed James had threatened to "cave his skull in" but jurors saw through his lies and he was today convicted of murder. Teesside Crown Court heard how Layton stepped off a bus and walked into the road oblivious to James' approaching car. The dad, who was forced to make an emergency stop, angrily told Layton: “I nearly knocked you over, I have a kid in the car with me." After launching into a foul-mouthed tirade, Layton was then seen on CCTV marching towards...
(CNN)The governing body of tennis, the International Tennis Foundation (ITF), has not suspended tournaments in China because it "does not want to punish a billion people," its president said Sunday. The Women's Tennis Association (WTA) announced an immediate suspension of all tournaments in China, including Hong Kong, in response to Beijing's silencing of Chinese tennis player Peng Shuai's sexual assault allegations. The ITF -- which organizes grand slam events, annual team competitions for men, women and mixed teams and sanctions major tournaments -- has been facing calls to do the same. One of China's most recognizable sports stars, Peng publicly accused a former top Communist Party official, Vice Premier Zhang Gaoli, of coercing her into sex at his home three years ago in a since-deleted social media post dated November 2.Peng was immediately muffled by blanket censorship and disappeared from public view for more than two weeks. Belgian police used water cannons and tear gas to disperse protesters in Brussels today amid demonstrations against tightened Covid-19 restrictions imposed by the government to counter the latest spike in coronavirus cases.Hordes of protestors marched through the streets towards the headquarters of the European Union, shouting 'Freedom! Freedom!' and carrying placards which read 'everyday fascism' emblazoned with yellow stars, drawing comparisons with the identification tags Jews were forced to wear in Nazi-occupied Europe. The government on Friday introduced fresh Covid restrictions - the third week in a row that rules have been tightened amid the latest surge in cases. Prime Minister Alexander De Croo announced that kindergartens and primary schools will close for the holiday season a week early, and children must now wear masks from the age of 6. Indoor events will only be allowed with a maximum of 200 people. Previously, the government closed nightclubs, and ordered bars and restaurants to shut at 11pm for three weeks.  The main crowd in Sunday's mostly peaceful march had already dispersed when about 100 protesters ran into a riot police barricade cordoning...

Steve Cortes is reportedly leaving Newsmax after a public spat with the network over its vaccine policy. Cortes, a former Trump campaign adviser and longtime cable news pundit who joined Newsmax earlier this year to co-host a prime time show, will host his last episode for the network at some point in the coming days, according to a report from the Daily Beast. “Tensions between Cortes and the MAGA cable network had long been simmering,” the Beast reported Friday. Those tensions apparently came to a head in the wake of the network implementing a vaccine requirement in compliance with Biden administration regulations for big businesses. Mediaite first reported earlier this month that Newsmax informed staffers that all employees must be fully vaccinated by January 2022, or else face weekly Covid testing and wear a mask in the office. The announcement sparked tensions within Newsmax, as many of the network’s biggest stars had denounced vaccine mandates — including Cortes, who called them an example of “dictatorial rule” under President Joe Biden. Cortes even took his issues with the Newsmax mandate...

Porsche's lineup may be getting larger. Automotive News reports that the automaker has informed its U.S. dealers that the brand's first three-row SUV is coming soon. The Porsche Renndienst concept explored the possibilities of a three-row model. (Porsche) "It's a new style of vehicle that is part sedan, part crossover," one dealer told the outlet. "It's very un-Porsche-like," another dealer said "It has a flat rear design; it's not anything like the Macan and Cayenne." The Renndienst features five seats in three rows. (Porsche) The two-row Cayenne is currently Porsche's largest offering, but it also sells the Panamera and electric Taycan Sport Turismo wagons. The Renndienst has a central driving position with video monitors instead of side-view mirrors.
