You can put the rumors to bed, as Kentucky and Mark Stoops have agreed to a multi-year contract extension.  Has there ever been a more wild 72 hours in college football? It’s been a game of musical chairs for head coaches, with Lincoln Riley and Brian Kelly headlining things with their moves to USC and LSU, respectively. Rumors have been flying that Kentucky’s Mark Stoops could be making a move too. Well, that’s not going to happen. On Tuesday afternoon, the school announced that Stoops has agreed to a contract extension that will run through the 2028 campaign. “I’m excited to continue to build this program to national prominence, Stoops said. We’re on our way and I’m more confident in Kentucky football than I’ve ever been.” As rumors swirled about Stoops being a candidate at Florida and LSU in recent weeks, those rumors escalated after the Oklahoma job opened with Lincoln Riley leaving for USC.Mark Stoops staying put with Kentucky is massive news for the WildcatsDespite Stoops being a logical candidate to helm the program his brother Bob did for so...
MOHAMED ELNENY’S father has attempted to play down talk of his son’s departure from Arsenal. The Egyptian midfielder, 29, joined the Gunners from Swiss side Basel back in 2016. 2Mohamed Elneny will not be leaving Arsenal on a free transfer in JanuaryCredit: AP 2The midfielder's father has moved to end rumours of his son's early exitCredit: Getty But he has failed to establish himself as a first-team regular during that period and only featured 73 times in the Premier League. His lack of football led to a spell on loan at Besiktas in the 2019/20 campaign. And now speculation has been mounting that he will be on his way again once the January transfer window opens. Elneny is out of contract in June and will be able to leave Arsenal for nothing. That led to reports that the North London side were willing to rip up the ace’s deal early and let him leave for free once the window re-opens.. He had allegedly already agreed a package to join El Ahly in his homeland. Most read in Premier LeagueLive BlogFOOTY...
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — The end of the Tennessee Titans’ six-game winning streak comes down to a simple number: Five. Ryan Tannehill was intercepted a career-high four times, and the Titans lost the ball on a muffed punt for a season-high five turnovers Sunday in a 22-13 loss to the Houston Texans that snapped the longest active winning streak in the NFL. “You turn the ball over in this league, you’re going to lose,” Titans coach Mike Vrabel said. “Nobody wants to hear that, nobody believes that. But when you do that, it doesn’t matter what the record is. We had five turnovers. They had zero. You’re going to lose the game 99 percent of the time.” The Titans (8-3) also had other issues Sunday. They fell behind 19-0, leading them to go for it on fourth down four times. They turned it over on downs twice and cost a chance at another fourth-and-1 opportunity after a false start by left guard Rodger Saffold. Those mistakes were more than enough even when the Titans outgained Houston 420-190...

Getty Jason Peters has started all nine games for the Chicago Bears this season. The Chicago Bears had the oldest roster in the NFL at the start of the regular season, with numerous aging starters on both sides of the ball. With an average age of 27.0 years old, the Bears roster is full of seasoned veterans — but the goal for the team moving forward should be to build around rookie quarterback Justin Fields, and it certainly wouldn’t hurt to get younger all-around when doing so. One analyst thinks Chicago might get younger via retirement — at least, that’s what he thinks should happen. In his November 15 column, Maurice Moton of Bleacher Report listed several former All-Pro players who “should contemplate retirement” after the 2021 season ends, and the Bears were the only team with two players on the list. And according to showrunner Smith, a three-act structure had always been the plan.  “When you see the end of the third season, you’ll see it’s the perfect ending,” said executive producer Paul Lee. “Are we sorry to end it after three seasons? Of course, we’re sorry. Is it the right thing to do? It’s the perfect thing to do.” Smith’s mission from the start was to tell Emily’s coming-of-age story, which she felt would end with the Civil War, a...

Getty Ben Ellefson was placed on the Vikings' injured reserve list ahead of the team's Sunday Night Football matchup with the Cowboys. The Minnesota Vikings will be missing one of their best blockers at the tight end position for an indefinite amount of time. Ben Ellefson, a Hawley Minn. native, landed on the injured reserve list on Thursday after suffering a foot injury in Wednesday’s practice, per Pioneer Press reporter Chris Tomasson. Ellefson must sit out at least three games before he can be activated off the injured reserve list. Veteran tight end Luke Stocker, signed in Week 6, was protected from being signed off the team’s practice squad this week. BOSTON (CBS) — As is usually the case when a team’s season comes to an end, we’re learning more about some of the injuries the Red Sox were dealing with during their playoff run. The ending of Sunday’s Mercury-Storm elimination playoff game was absolutely insane.  The second-round game between the Phoenix Mercury and the Seattle Storm was everything fans could have hoped for plus much more. Yes, the Mercury pulled out with an 85-80 win but it did not come easy nor without the exhilarating turbulence of overtime. To get to this second-round game, the fifth-seeded Mercury fought their way to victory against a young and tough Liberty team, while the Storm got to benefit from a first-round bye. Besides that everything else at the position is pretty much the same from last season with three other tight ends listed on the roster: Ryan Griffin, Daniel Brown, and Trevon Wesco (although he’s really a fullback now). There’s no other way to put this, the group lacks sizzle. However, 90min claim that Rice fully expects this term to be his last with West Ham before joining one of the Premier League's big four. SunSport exclusively revealed in July how West Ham were planning to offer the player a bumper new deal to convince him to stay. And 90min have stated how Rice would only be prepared to pen a new contract if it included a release clause. Though the club have a policy of not including buyout clauses, meaning it is unlikely at this stage Rice will commit his future to West Ham. The Hammers value the player at around £100m, but Rice is believed to have been unhappy...

Did Monica die in the final moments of “Yellowstone” season three? This has been a theory that has gained a bit of traction online, and I was never a really big believer in the theory. (REVIEW: ‘Yellowstone’ Ends Season 3 With One Of The Greatest Cliffhangers In TV History) Well, after rewatching the entire third season for another time, I think I’m buying it more and more. Specifically, there are clues to be learned from the final moments of the season when she’s on the phone with Kayce. Kayce’s office gets attacked and viewers are meant to believe the noises she’s hearing are through the phone. What if it’s way more complicated? If you look very closely at the scene, Monica is walking to the right of the screen and is flustered by the gunshots she can hear over the phone. That’s when you hear a loud explosion. Immediately, she turns 180 degrees and looks behind her. The show then cuts elsewhere. That would seem to be a crystal clear indication that the explosion is in incredibly close proximity...
The boricua Carlos Correa will leave the Houston Astros at the end of the 2021 season in the MLB; will seek new horizons. Correa who rejected several offers to extend his contract prior to the MLB2021, told the press that he would like to win a championship with the Houston Astros as a farewell. Carlos Correa He clearly said that this is his last year with the Astros, since he understands that they did not want to raise the offer last spring and therefore, they do not need it as much as they do not want to maintain their value. “At the end of the day, it is an entertainment business. And we want to entertain people. When we go on tour, it’s entertaining to keep the fans quiet. My last year with the Astros, hopefully we can win another championship. I can leave this great organization with two of them. “ There is no doubt that he had intentions to stay with that organization, but even so, he feels that they should give him the millions that...
BOSTON (CBS) — Revolution fans are going to have to soak up all the Tajon Buchanan they can this year. The New England winger is reportedly heading overseas at the end of the season. Rumors have been circulating that Buchanan would find a home in Europe since he was a standout for the Canadian National Team during the Gold Cup. He will reportedly be moving on to Club Brugge in Belgium at the end of New England’s season, according to Sam Stejskal of The Athletic. Buchanan’s move is expected to be officially announced sometime Tuesday. Buchanan is currently in Los Angeles for MLS All-Star festivities, one of four New England Revolution players to earn an All-Star nod this season. The Revs will receive roughly $7 million for losing Buchanan. New England drafted Buchanan with the ninth overall pick in the 2019 SuperDraft, and he’s gone on to score eight goals over 50 matches for the Revolution.
Alabama may have an offensive weapon this season that could shock people. TDAlabma reports Latu has become one of Young’s favorite options, and Nick Saban raved about his physicality, athleticism, hands, routes, speed, and blocking abilities. EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (AP) — For the first time since the end of the 2019 season, the New York Giants played in MetLife Stadium in front of their fans. It was just a training camp practice, but it was obvious it meant a lot for the players and fans to reconnect after the 2020 NFL season was played with games here in front of 78,000 empty seats because of the pandemic. The Giants distributed some 50,000 tickets to fans who requested them, and the team said just under 29,000 people attended the so-called Fan Fest. The fans cheered when the roughly 90 players and coaches walked on the field. They roared for big plays and a couple of touchdown passes, including one from starting quarterback Daniel Jones to running back Alfred Morris. The Giants had a practice in the stadium before last season started, but it was only attended by the media. Noise was piped in to simulate a crowd. “I can’t believe you know how much different this year than last year,” Judge said after the practice. “It’s a...
