moreby Mark Hemingway   Before the Donald Trump-inspired challenges of the 2020 presidential election, Democrats and liberals alleged fraud and formally contested the results of the 2000, 2004, and 2016 Republican-won presidential elections. Those earlier challenges spurred the creation of a network of election litigators on the left — what J. Christian Adams, a conservative ex-Justice Department attorney pitted against them, calls a “linear build-out” of “some 30 groups” responsible for a lot of sudden changes in election law last year amid the pandemic. For the closely fought 2020 presidential election, 29 largely Democrat-controlled states and the District of Columbia loosened voting laws, most expanding access to mail voting, according to the liberal Brennan Center for Justice. In response, after former President Trump’s efforts to contest his narrow loss, 19 largely conservative states tightened their voting laws, the Brennan Center reports. The latest changes have provoked a wave of litigation, overwhelmingly from the left. Now Harvard Law School, in seeming recognition of the power of this “lawfare” strategy, is gearing up for a future where elections are regularly decided not...

"I used to be a fan of the prosecutors — not any more," Rittenhouse continued. "I believe there are still good prosecuting attorneys out there. But [Binger is] supposed to speak the truth and nothing but the truth, but he decided he wanted to lie and try to put me in prison for the rest of my life for defending myself." He added that it all was "sickening" to him. "This is a case that has nothing to do with politics — but politics were brought into it for people's own agenda," Rittenhouse added to Carlson. Kyle Rittenhouse tells Tucker why he lost faith in the justice system youtu.be Anything else? It's hard to argue with Rittenhouse's disgust regarding the prosecution's behavior: Binger strongly implied in his opening statement that Rittenhouse chased down and shot an unarmed Joseph Rosenbaum in the back — despite video evidence that was easily viewable just days after the August 2020 shooting that showed Rosenbaum chasing Rittenhouse. Later Schroeder blasted Binger for committing a "grave...
BRUNSWICK, Ga. -- Nearly three weeks ago, the judge ruled that he'll seat one Black juror and 11 whites to decide the trial of the men who chased and killed Ahmaud Arbery, despite prosecutors' objections that several Black potential jurors were cut because of their race.Ahmaud Arbery verdict: Travis McMichael, Greg McMichael, William Bryan guilty on murder chargesSuperior Court Judge Timothy Walmsley acknowledged that "intentional discrimination" by attorneys for the three white defendants charged in the death of the Black man appeared to have shaped jury selection. But he said Georgia law limited his authority to intervene.Race is a central issue in the case involving the death of Arbery. Greg McMichael and his adult son, Travis McMichael, armed themselves and pursued Arbery in a pickup truck on Feb. 23, 2020, after they spotted the 25-year-old man running in their neighborhood in coastal Georgia. A neighbor, William "Roddie" Bryan," joined the chase in his own truck and took cellphone video of Travis McMichael shooting Arbery three times with a shotgun.A long, sometimes heated debate over the racial makeup of the final...
FORT WASHINGTON, Pa -- When Hurricane Harvey hit Houston in 2017, it devastated Kingwood High School. Across the country in Fort Washington, Pennsylvania, Upper Dublin High School decided to help Kingwood recover.Little did either school know, an Upper Dublin alum was actually living in Houston and sending her children to Kingwood. Mary Neuman, the mom, immediately reached out to Upper Dublin to thank them and was then introduced to math teacher Mary Anna Swart, who had coordinated the effort. Last September, Upper Dublin was hit by a tornado and sustained similar damage that Kingwood had four years prior. Kingwood students remembered how Upper Dublin had helped them and decided to return the kindness with fundraisers. Once again, the effort was coordinated by Swart and Neuman, two neighbors from across the country now forever connected by kindness.

A prosecutor said Monday that the defendants on trial for the February 2020 killing of Ahmaud Arbery decided to attack the 25-year-old man “because he was a Black man running down their street.” Prosecutor Linda Dunikoski, during her closing argument, said Travis and Greg McMichael and William “Roddie” Bryan, all of whom are facing counts of felony murder in connection to Arbery’s slaying in Glenn County, Ga., targeted him "assuming the worst" about a man simply jogging through their neighborhood, according to Reuters. “They shot and killed him. Not because he was a threat to them. But because he wouldn’t stop and talk to them,” Dunikoski added, according to The Associated Press. Arbery was shot to death on Feb. 23 of last year by Travis McMichael after being chased by both McMichaels and Bryan. Arbery’s death made national headlines after a video of the incident was released that May. Arbery is seen running down a street away from two vehicles, then fighting with a man over a shotgun the man had. The McMichaels started chasing Arbery after he left a nearby house that was under construction,...
The Supreme Court will likely take its cue from whichever Court of Appeals hears the consolidated lawsuits against OSHA's workplace vaccine requirements. You wouldn’t know it from very many corporate-owned media sources, but the fate of literally thousands—if not millions—of Americans is being decided Tuesday—in a random drawing, much like a lottery. That’s because our federal judiciary has become so corrupted by fanatical, right-wing partisan ideologues that the fate of much of the American workforce—and the safety of their workplaces—may ultimately depend on which federal appeals court panel is selected to hear arguments concerning the Biden administration’s implementation of its workplace COVID-19 vaccine requirements. That decision is scheduled to be made Tuesday by essentially picking a number from 1 to 12 out of a rotating drum.  The Circuit Court of Appeals whose number is drawn will hear the consolidated lawsuits against the temporary Occupational Health and Safety Administration (OSHA) rules requiring all employers with 100 or more employees to ensure by Jan. 4, 2022, that those employees are fully vaccinated against COVID-19, or undergo regular testing for the virus. As...

She chose “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together” for Blake Moynes. Thurston has since done Andrew Spencer and Aaron Clancy (plus his sidekick James Bonsall.
