Photo by Peter Klaunzer – Pool/Keystone via Getty Images The White House announced on Saturday that President Joe Biden will speak to Russian President Vladimir Putin on Tuesday over a “secure video call.” The two leaders last met in July. According to the White House, the pair “will discuss a range of topics in the U.S.-Russia relationship, including strategic stability, cyber, and regional issues.” “President Biden will underscore U.S. concerns with Russian military activities on the border with Ukraine and reaffirm the United States’ support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine,” the statement added. While U.S. officials have stressed that Putin’s intentions around Ukraine are unclear, an unclassified intelligence document recently detailed the Russian military building up its troop and equipment presence near the border. Biden responded to the possibility of Russia invading Ukraine, telling reporters on Friday that “we’ve been aware of Russia’s actions for a long time, and my expectation is we’re going to have a long discussion.” Reuters reported that the Kremlin said the video call will include discussing “bilateral relations, of course Ukraine, and the...
Cops released surveillance video of a missing 20-year-old woman in 7-Eleven the day before she disappeared following a 'frantic' phone call to her mother saying she'd fought with her boyfriend. The San Diego Police Department on Thursday released two clips showing Lateche Norris with her boyfriend Joseph 'Joey' Smith, 25, in the convenience store on November 4. She last spoke to her family on November 5. Norris, from Indiana, flew to San Diego on November 1 to visit her boyfriend, who was in the West Coast city attending drug rehab for a heroin addiction, a former neighbor who chose to remain unidentified told CBS8.  Norris' mother Cheryl Walker wrote in a Facebook post that her daughter agreed to 'rough it' a few days upon arriving in San Diego with her boyfriend and insisted that her daughter did not plan on being homeless. 'She lands here November 1st, has multiple arguments upon arriving here...because he lied to her!' Joe Buck had no choice but to troll the poor Detroit Lions on Thanksgiving after the were flagged for a penalty after scoring against Chicago.  When is the suffering going to end for the Detroit Lions fans? The team had a golden chance to try and win their first game of the season on Thursday, but they suffered a heartbreaking loss to the Chicago Bears thanks to a walk-off field goal. The Lions took a fourth-quarter lead against the Bears following a touchdown pass from Jared Goff to T.J. Hockenson. However, Detroit’s first PAT try was void thanks to a penalty for too many men on the field. While the Lions ended up making that PAT on the next play, commentator Joe Buck had no choice but to savage the team for their mistake. "Theyre just not used to scoring touchdowns." "Youre a bad man!" pic.twitter.com/XmD9ldoMn8 — The Comeback (@thecomeback) November 25, 2021 Detroit can’t buy a win and Joe Buck made things worse for the Lions Yup, Buck had to go there, saying the Lions just aren’t used to...
TENNIS star Peng Shuai appears to be safe and well after speaking with Olympic officials in a video call. The Chinese doubles specialist was feared to have vanished after making allegations of sexual assault against senior minister Zhang Gaoli. 3Peng Shuai made allegations of sexual assault against politician Zhang GaoliCredit: AP But now the International Olympic Committee says its president Thomas Bach has spoken to the 35-year-old in a half-hour video conference. IOC Athletes’ Commission chief Emma Terho also sat in on the call. She said: “I was relieved to see that Peng Shuai was doing fine, which was our main concern. “She appeared to be relaxed. I offered her our support and to stay in touch at any time of her convenience, which she obviously appreciated.” The IOC released a statement in which they said Peng claimed to be at home in Beijing but asked for her privacy to be respected. Bach reportedly invited her to meet him for dinner when he visits China in January, which she agreed to. Peng had disappeared from public for almost three weeks...
It’s been a terrible couple of weeks for officiating in the NFL, and the referees doubled down in the Saints-Titans game. The Saints made a critical red zone interception that would’ve taken points off the board in what’s been a close game thus far in the first half. Instead, New Orleans was called for roughing the passer, with the officials yet again potentially interfering with the end result. This negated an interception. Going to hurl. pic.twitter.com/Wczk87UGnm — Tyler Dunne (@TyDunne) November 14, 2021 Ryan Tannehill was hit just as he threw the ball towards the end zone. Tannehill’s decision-making was suspect on the play, as he was intercepted. Yet, it was all for nothing thanks to the officiating crew. What is roughing the passer in NFL?We’ll have more on this story momentarily.

Rams fans, Titans fans and neutrals all seem to agree the roughing the passer call on Aaron Donald against Ryan Tannehill was utterly terrible. NFL fans are really fed up with weak roughing the passer calls and who can blame them when you see a flag fly like it did for a shove by Aaron Donald on Ryan Tannehill. The Rams defender was chasing the Titans quarterback towards the sideline on a third down LA had to stop. When Tannehill tossed the ball out of bounds, Donald gave him a push. It was the kind of thing you see all the time in football with no consequence. This one got flagged for roughing the passer and extended Tennessee’s drive. Facebook's portable Portal Go is an excellent device for video-calling, but the fact that it's made by Facebook makes it difficult to trust with your privacy.Salvador Rodriguez/CNBC Facebook's new Portal video calling devices hit stores and began shipping to customers on Tuesday. I've been testing out the new portable Portal Go for the past week. The $199 Portal Go is part of Facebook's third generation of Portal devices that the company announced last month. Facebook is still pretty green when it comes to putting together hardware products, but the social media company has made strides in its design and execution since releasing its first Portal devices in 2018. Since then, Facebook has also introduced Portal devices that attach to your TV, and mini versions that look like picture frames. The Portal Go is the first of these products that can be moved around and it works without being plugged into a wall. Along with the new Portal+, the Portal Go is Facebook's first redesign of its video calling device since 2019, and in that time, it shows that Facebook has...
Giants fans at Oracle Park took their frustrations too far by throwing beer cans at the umpires after a blown call ended the NLDS against the Dodgers. Things got ugly in Game 5 of the NLDS as the Dodgers beat the Giants at Oracle Park. The controversy surrounded the final call of the game. The first base umpire ruled Wilmer Flores went through on his checked swing, resulting in the third strike and the third out to end the game in the bottom of the ninth. Needless to say, fans were outraged over what plainly looked like a bad call.Giants fans crossed a line by throwing beer cans at umpsIt was perfectly understandable for fans to be upset. An upcoming book on Donald Trump’s final days in office sheds some light on how the former president was reluctant to call off his supporters who stormed the U.S. Capitol. ABC News’ Jon Karl has released an excerpt of Betrayal: The Final Act of the Trump Show, which explores Trump’s last attempts to hang onto power after losing the 2020 election. According to Karl’s sources, Trump boasted about the size of the crowd that gathered on January 6th, and he was enthralled as he watched his supporters — fueled by his election lies — as they rioted through the Capitol in a violent attempt to overthrow his defeat to Joe Biden. The book says Trump argued with aides in the White House’s private dining room as they tried to get him to call off the riot. When Trump finally agreed to release a video statement, Karl reports that the video had to be re-recorded “several times before they got it right, and in earlier rejected versions, Trump neglected to call on his supporters to leave the Capitol.” The book also...
New York Yankees broadcaster Michael Kay has been extra rusty down the stretch, backing up his bad Giancarlo Stanton call with an Anthony Rizzo home run catastrophe. Kay has one of the more recognizable voices in all of baseball, specifically as it pertains to New York sports. So when he messes up, the entire baseball world takes notice. Hence, I’m here to deliver. On Thursday night, Giancarlo Stanton gave the Yankees a 6-2 lead over the Toronto Blue Jays with a home run that was clear as day. Instead of getting hyped for the moment, Kay gave fans the “if it’s fair it’s gone” treatment. What? “Scooped to left field” // “if it’s fair it’s gone!” The most effortless 421 ft there ever was. The Philadelphia Eagles tried to execute the Philly Special on 4th and Goal, but things could not have gone much worse this time around.  For the Philadelphia Eagles faithful, they’ll never forget when the Philly Special was executed to perfection in the Super Bowl win over the New England Patriots. That’s probably why Sunday’s attempt at the trick play feels even worse. On 4th and goal going up against the San Francisco 49ers, the Eagles tried getting sneaky by pulling off the Philly Special again. Instead, things really couldn’t have gone much worse for them. The Philly Special didn’t go as planned for the Eagles against the 49ersThat’s of course not what head coach Nick Sirianni was hoping to see. He decided to get aggressive here with that play call and it backfired on Sirianni. Wide receiver Greg Ward was hoping to make something happen, but he ended up throwing the ball out of bounds. There was just no space for Jalen Hurts to try and record a touchdown. This edition of the Philly Special had no chance of turning...
Washington Football Team defensive end Chase Young was penalized for roughing the passer against Daniel Jones in the lamest way possible. The Green Bay Packers had an interception wiped off the board because of a very questionable roughing the passer call against Za’Darius Smith. It wouldn’t be Week 1 in the NFL without some controversial decisions by referees. It’s unreasonable to expect a guy bearing down on the QB to back off in that short among of time. The flag reversed an interception that might have given Green Bay life in the 24-3 game. Instead, Jameis Winston lived to fight another down and threw a touchdown to cap the drive and give the Saints an even-more commanding 31-3 lead. Packers fans can be comforted somewhat knowing their offense was anemic for the entire outing. Even...
Gary Cohen’s call of Javy Baez’s scoring the winning run for the New York Mets is amazing. Nothing will top Gary Cohen’s call of the zaniness surrounding Javy Baez‘s signature New York Mets moment on Tuesday afternoon. While the Mets won both games over the Miami Marlins on Tuesday, one of them was a continuation of an April 11 game, you know, back when Baez was on the Chicago Cubs. New York was down four runs to the Fish entering the ninth inning. Well, the Mets plated five in the final frame, including Baez’s heads up scamper around the bases. Meet, Google’s video calling platform, has added a small feature to warn of the annoying echo that occurs, in many cases, when the microphone is close to the speaker. The company highlights on its blog that many users do not know what causes this return in the audio and do not know how to solve it. Therefore, the app will display a notification when it detects resonance during video call and cannot be deactivated automatically. The notice will appear on the deceased’s screen. A red dot will be displayed in the settings option and a message will show that echo has been identified in the video call. The user can click on the notification to access the help center, see what is causing the echo and follow the steps to solve it. Google already has a feature that reduces echo during video calls. However, it ensures that its algorithm is not always capable of detecting it. The new function, therefore, is a complement to the option that Google Meet already included. This novelty has already begun to...

The Milwaukee Brewers were victims of what has to be one of the worst calls ever made.  If you were looking for the worst call in baseball history, first base umpire Marty Foster just delivered. In Wednesday game between the Brewers and Marlins, umpire Marty Foster called pitcher Zack Godley for interference after he fielded a grounder by Isan Diaz and tossed it to first base. The interference occurred when — well, there wasn’t any clear interference anywhere to be seen. Diaz was running on infield grass and came close to running into Godley, but that was after the out was already seemingly made. There was a a good ten steps between Diaz and the first base bag when the ball was caught, and both Godley and Vogelbach were getting ready to walk off the field. Bradley Cortright February 10, 2021 0 Comments Former President Donald Trump’s defense team is arguing that the impeachment effort against their client is driven not by a moral obligation but by political decisions.
