The naked gown trend is a staple of the red carpet, but a new 'it dress' is taking things to new levels - thanks to mostly sheer fabric, multiple cut outs and barely- there straps.  The see-through creation, costing £1,400, is the work of Albania-born Central Saint Martins alumna, Nensi Dojaka, 28, who not surprisingly studied lingerie design for her undergraduate degree and MA. A-listers including Zendaya, Emily Ratajkowski, Hailey Bieber to Jourdan Dunn have all been spotted in variations on her famous frock, which is so skimpy it's impossible to wear a bra underneath.  Nensi has quickly risen to fashion darling status among celebrities and the industry landing the emerging designer talent gong at this week's British Fashion Awards, and the prestigious LVMH prize for young designers earlier this year. But while the high street is usually quick to rush out its own copies of the latest celebrity trend can any mere mortal without a supermodel body ever get away with wearing one of Nensi's ultra-skimpy designs? 'These are not easy dresses to wear for most women. There is nowhere to...

LAHORE, Pakistan (AP) — Police arrested 13 suspects and detained dozens of others in the lynching of a Sri Lankan employee at a sports equipment factory in eastern Pakistan, officials said Saturday. A mob of hundreds of enraged Muslims descended on the factory in the district of Sialkot in Punjab province Friday after the Sri Lankan manager of the factory was accused of blasphemy. The mob grabbed Priyantha Kumara, lynched him and publicly burned the body, according to police. Factory workers accused the victim of desecrating posters bearing the name of Islam’s Prophet Muhammad. Punjab police chief Rao Sardar said Saturday that investigators arrested prominent suspects after seeing their clear role on video in instigating workers to violence, killing the manager and dragging his body outside, and taking selfies with his burning body and proudly admitting what they did. Sardar, in his initial report to authorities, said the victim had asked the workers to remove all stickers from factory machines before a foreign delegation arrived. It said the incident started at around 11 a.m. and three constables reached...
HELENA, Mont. (AP) — A Montana prison inmate serving a 100-year sentence for killing his wife in 1983 has confessed to strangling, sexually assaulting and dismembering a 19-year-old Helena woman 15 years earlier, authorities said Friday. Courtney Brooke Atlas, 79, confessed to killing Pamela Ann Dorrington, who disappeared in 1968. Part of her torso was found near the boat dock at Gates of the Mountains Marina on Holter Lake four months later. Atlas, who was 26 at the time, was Dorrington’s landlord. He had always been a suspect, officials said, but there was no forensic evidence tying him to the crime. Atlas confessed on Wednesday, in detail, after being given immunity from prosecution for the crimes, Lewis and Clark County Sheriff Leo Dutton said. Dorrington’s family was consulted before the immunity offer was made. Atlas said he called Dorrington on the morning of Feb. 17, 1968, and said there was a water leak in her apartment. He went into her apartment, strangled her to death and sexually assaulted her, Detective Jess Metcalf said. Atlas reported he put her body...

The University of Oregon's student government has made a proposal that would require anyone getting a bachelor's degree take a course in Critical Race Theory. The school, which serves 18,604 undergrads and receives a $912.5billion endowment from the taxpayers, requires courses that teach inequality or global perspectives, but this would be the first requirement directly related to CRT.  Isaiah Boyd, a political science major and the president of the Associated Students of the University of Oregon, laid out the plan at the university board of trustees meeting Wednesday.  'Racism and the social power structures that have enabled and continue to manifest the inequalities that many marginalized identities groups face must be continuously addressed and studied,' the plan reads.  'The goal of this project is to initiate the necessary conversations with the Office of the Provost, the Division of Undergraduate Education and Student Success, and the University Senate to find the most appropriate way of incorporating a course requirement into the bachelor's degree track.' Tyler Boyd, President of the Associated Students of the University of Oregon, is behind the plan Students...

Two women in Detroit, Michigan, have been arrested and charged with murder after the body of a nine-year-old girl was found in a duffel bag in Oregon.  Shawna Browning, 29, and her 'significant other' Lauren Harrison, 34, were charged on Wednesday after DNA testing of the body revealed her to be Haley-Mae Coblentz, Browning's nine-year-old daughter.  Her body, which was found in the forest near a rest stop along the H.B. Van Duzer Scenic Corridor in Lincoln County, Oregon on December 4 last year, had been decomposing for over a month according to state police.    Police Captain Stephanie Bigman said it took the authorities months to work out the identity of the body as Coblentz was never reported missing.  Meanwhile, both Browning and Harrison are set to be extradited from Michigan to Oregon where they will undergo trial for the murder of Coblentz over one year ago.  Shawna Browning, 29 (L), and her 'significant other' Lauren Harrison, 34 (R), were charged on Wednesday after DNA testing of a nine-year-old girl's body revealed her to be Haley-Mae Coblentz, Browning's nine-year-old daughter...
The leader of a New Age cult whose mummified body was found surrounded by fairly lights in a Colorado home in April died of alcohol abuse, anorexia and and long-term dosing of colloidal silver, her autopsy has confirmed. Amy Carlson, a 45-year-old former McDonald's employee from Texas, was known by followers of Love Has Won as 'Mother' or 'Mother God'. She had left her three children and husband behind when she moved to Colorado, and in 2018 founded the sect. In her final photos, posted to Facebook - where the cult's 20 full time members and hundreds of other admirers shared memes and musings - Carlson is seen looking emaciated and with a strange blue tint to her skin. When her body was found, it seemed initially as if her eyes had been removed, but forensic analysis later found they had simply decomposed.  She told Dr Phil in September 2020 that she had cancer. Her autopsy, published on Thursday, showed she died of anorexia, alcohol abuse and the effects of colloidal silver - a 'dietary supplement' of tiny particles of silver...
LAHORE, Pakistan (AP) — A Muslim mob attacked a sports equipment factory in Pakistan’s eastern Punjab province on Friday, killing a Sri Lankan man over allegations of blasphemy, police said. Armagan Gondal, a police chief in Sialkot district where the killing occurred said that factory workers had accused the victim of desecrating posters bearing the name of Islam’s Prophet Muhammad. The Sri Lankan, Priyantha Diyawadana, was lynched by the mob inside the factory, Gondal said initial information showed. However Gondal’s district superior, Omar Saeed Malik, said police were still trying to determine what exactly prompted the mob to kill the Sri Lankan, whose body was sent to a hospital for an autopsy. A video posted on social media showed the mob dragging the heavily bruised body of the Sri Lankan outside the factory. Mob attacks on people accused of blasphemy are common in the Islamic nation, although such attacks on foreigners are rare. Blasphemy carries the death penalty in Pakistan. International and domestic rights groups say that accusations of blasphemy have often been used to intimidate religious minorities and...
ANKARA, Turkey (AP) — Europe’s democracy and human rights-promoting body said Friday it is initiating a disciplinary process against Turkey after it failed to comply with a court’s ruling to release jailed businessman and philanthropist Osman Kavala. Last week, a court in Istanbul extended Kavala’s imprisonment, defying the European Court of Human Rights, which ruled that the businessmen was unjustly jailed. The Council of Europe warned Turkey in September that it would begin “infringement” proceedings unless Kavala was freed before its meeting this week. The lengthy process could lead to the suspension of Turkey’s voting rights or membership in the 47-nation human rights body. The council said in a state that its Committee of Ministers concluded that by failing to free Kavala, “Turkey is refusing to abide by the court’s final judgment in this case.” It added that the committee had notified Turkey of its intention to ask the court whether Ankara had failed to fulfil its obligation to implement its judgement and had also asked Turkey to submit its view of the issue by Jan. 19. Turkey’s...

DENVER (CBS4) — Gruesome discoveries at some Colorado funeral homes could result in tougher regulations for the industry. Investigators in Eagle and Lake Counties say they found unidentified bodies wrapped in blankets, an unrefrigerated corpse, and bags of unlabeled cremains at two funeral homes owned by Shannon Kent. Shannon Kent (credit: CBS) In one case, investigators say a family received cremains of their baby that were mixed with adult body parts and cement. Kent is charged with abusing a corpse. Lina Cavanagh, who paid Kent to cremate her stillborn son, now wonders if it’s really her baby’s ashes in the urn at her home. She says she had the ashes tested but the results were inconclusive. CRESTONE, Colo. (CBS4) – A coroner’s report obtained by CBS4 reveals how a cult leader in Colorado most likely died. The body of Amy Carlson was found in a mummified state in a home near Crestone last spring. (credit: YouTube) Known as Mother God, her body was decorated with Christmas lights. Several members of the Love Has Won cult were arrested, but abuse of corpse charges were later dropped. Amy Carlson (credit: Dr. Phil Show) The Saguache County coroner’s report reveals Carlson died as a result of alcohol abuse, anorexia and chronic colloidal silver ingestion.
Amy Carlson, the leader of a New Age sect known as Love Has Won, died due to a decline brought on by alcohol abuse, anorexia, and dosing colloidal silver, according to an autopsy report from the El Paso County Coroner’s Office in Colorado. Mystery initially shrouded Carlson’s death after her mummified body was discovered in April in a green sleeping bag with its eyes missing in a home in Crestone, Colorado, arrest affidavits revealed at the time. Police had raided the home after being alerted by a member of the group who said Carlson’s body had been transported to a mobile home that served as the group’s headquarters from across the country. Several members of Love Has Won, who referred to Carlson as “Mother God,” were taken into custody after her body, which had been decomposing for roughly one month, was found. In interviews with law enforcement, the group claimed Carlson was not dead but was simply “out of communication.” But, in a report obtained by The Guru Magazine, Dr. Emily Russell ruled that Carlson “died as a result...
I hope it’s clear by now Roe is doomed, though I don’t mean it will be overturned. That would be too obvious. I mean the Supreme Court’s six conservatives will instead find ways to sabotage it without striking it down. That way the anti-abortionists will get what they want. That way “moderate” Republicans will be able to say Roe is still the law of the land. (I presume this is a preferred outcome for Susan Collins.) That’s where we’re headed. That doesn’t mean, however, the fighting will end. Far from it. The Christian Science Monitor’s Henry Gass reported Tuesday on how conflict over reproduction will continue post-Roe. Some states will amend their constitutions prohibiting abortion. Some states will do the same protecting it. (My state of Connecticut enshrined Roe in statute years ago.) The site of conflict had been national for over a half-century. Future sites will be local. That conflict will be local, not national, means America over time will become a crazy-quilt of abortion laws in which some have rights and some don’t, depending on which part of...

"Even if you listen to Dr. Fauci's interview with you earlier today, he made it very clear that the vaccine may not keep you from getting the virus. "Conversely, when you're talking about the pro-life position of protecting unborn babies, let's put it also in perspective: The fact is that during this very horrible and challenging time since I was sworn into office in January of 2020, we've had 800,000 American lives lost because of COVID," he continued. "But since Roe was enacted, 62 million American babies have been aborted, and, therefore, have been killed. And that's why I think it's very important that people like myself and others across this country stand up for those unborn children because they don't have the ability to stand up for themselves."
