CalTrans posted about the crash on social media, stating that it occurred around 3:51 p.m., according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP).     MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — Authorities in the Twin Cities are investigating a fatal crash Thanksgiving night in the southeast metro. The Minnesota State Patrol says the crash happened Thursday evening on southbound Highway 61 near the Highway 95 interchange in Cottage Grove. The southbound lanes of Highway 61 were closed as crews worked the scene. Early Friday, authorities identified the victim in the crash as 51-year-old Jessica Jackson, of Woodbury. She was struck broadside as she tried to turn onto Highway 61. The driver of the other car was a 19-year-old from Eagan, who was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.     YUBA COUNTY (CBS13) — At least 10 vehicles have been involved in a crash after a gravel spill along Highway 70 on Tuesday morning, authorities say. The gravel spill happened along the southbound side of the freeway at Plumas Lake Boulevard, near the community of Plumas Lake. Fremont police announced at 3:26 a.m. Monday that the California Highway Patrol had closed all lanes of traffic in both directions and that there is no estimated time to reopen the highway. The California Highway Patrol said the crash happened on southbound 101 at Golf Course Drive at about 4:45 a.m. A Ford Edge was headed northbound in the southbound No. 3 lane when it struck a Mazda 3 head-on.     REDWOOD CITY — A two-alarm fire at a key intersection sent up smoke Sunday afternoon, forcing closure of a Highway 101 off-ramp, authorities said. At 4 p.m., California Highway Patrol officers received reports of a blaze near southbound Hwy. 101 lanes west of the Whipple Avenue exit that was distracting drivers, and began working to shut down the southbound Whipple off-ramp minutes later. Soon after, Redwood City police alerted residents that the intersection of Whipple Avenue and Veterans Boulevard was closed to allow firefighters to attack the blaze.     SANTA CLARA — One person died and three were injured in a wrong-way, head-on crash early Sunday morning, California Highway Patrol said. Patrol officers were alerted to a collision at about 4:30 a.m. near the Montague Expressway interchange with Highway 101. A Toyota Corolla heading northbound on the wrong side of the highway smashed into a Camry head-on in the southbound lanes, an initial investigation by CHP found. A Nissan Sentra going southbound then crashed into the Camry, police said. The person driving the Corolla died in the crash, while three people in the other vehicles were taken to local hospitals. No further details were immediately available.

    LOS GATOS — All southbound lanes of Highway 17 near Bear Creek have been shut down after a three-vehicle crash left one driver dead and two more injured Saturday morning, authorities said. At about 8:10 a.m., the driver of a septic tanker traveling on Black Road, which runs perpendicular to Highway 17, lost control of the vehicle’s brakes, California Highway Patrol officer Ross Lee said. The septic tanker continued onto a frontage road and through a wall separating it from the highway, where it collided with both a Mercedes and a pickup truck traveling southbound. The driver of the pickup truck suffered fatal injuries in the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene, Lee said. Both the Mercedes and septic tank drivers sustained minor injuries and were transported to a local hospital. All southbound lanes of the highway will remain closed at SR-9 for at least several hours authorities clear the scene, including a spill from the septic tanker, Lee said. Check back for updates.     FRISCO, Texas (CBSDFW.COM) – A driver who police said was going the wrong way on a highway in Frisco has died and three others are injured after a crash Thursday night. Police said they responded to the crash at around 11 p.m. in the 9900 block of southbound State Highway 121 near Ohio Drive and found three vehicles that were involved.     MALIBU (CBSLA) — A mudslide has occurred approximately one mile north of the Pacific Coast Highway, authorities said Sunday. The mudslide occurred on the southbound lanes of Malibu Canyon Road and motorists were being warned to expect delays and use alternate routes.     Bay City News Service SANTA CRUZ — Construction work will close the connector ramp from southbound Highway 17 to southbound Highway 1 overnight from Sunday through Thursday nights for the next four weeks. The closure will be from 10 p.m. Sunday through 6 a.m. Monday and continue nightly through Friday morning and repeating each week through Friday, May 7. The connector ramp will remain open at other times. Drivers will encounter detour signs to take the Ocean Street offramp and turn left on Plymouth Street to enter southbound Highway 1.     A 24-year-old man was gunned down while driving on a Bronx highway Tuesday night in a suspected road rage shooting, police and sources said. The victim was heading southbound on the Bruckner Expressway, when the driver of a blue sedan pulled up next to him and opened fire near exit 7a at about 10:20 p.m., a witness told a 911 dispatcher, according to police. The victim was struck in his head and chest, cops said. When police responded, they found the victim had crashed his car into the median in between exit 7b and 8, authorities said. Police near the scene where a 24-year-old man was shot during a road rage incident on the Bruckner Expressway in the Bronx.William Lopez There were no passengers in his vehicle. The man was rushed to Jacobi Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The suspect fled southbound on the expressway. They were still on the loose early Wednesday morning, police said.

    WATSONVILLE (CBS SF) — The driver of a car traveling the wrong way on Highway 1 in Watsonville was arrested for felony DUI after she collided head-on with another vehicle, killing the passenger and seriously injuring the other driver. The California Highway Patrol said the crash happened at around 12:17 a.m. on southbound State Route 1.
