Scouting Report: If you want nonstick cookware without the chemicals, Caraway cookware is what you’ve been dreaming of. For two decades, my mother’s kitchen cabinets have been crammed with the same garbage Teflon pots and pans that have been leaching toxins into her food while simultaneously infuriating me whenever I have to cook with them. Not only do I worry about the chemicals that leach from the Teflon coating into our food (particularly when the coating begins to peel or scratch off into the food – gross!) but the pans themselves cook unevenly and inefficiently. Since I now prepare most of my mother’s meals, I upgraded her cookware to the new Caraway cookware set, which is currently 20 percent off during their annual sale. These ceramic-coated aluminum pots and pans promise to be nonstick for a lifetime so since my mom likes to keep her cookware for several decades, they seemed perfect for her. Not only is Caraway's cookware non-stick and absolutely beautiful (I sometimes leave them out on the stove instead of putting them away just because they’re so...
VICE PRESIDENT Kamala Harris went on a diplomatic trip to Paris, France, and bought cookware from a store in front of the Louvre. The internet has since been divided over the purchase Harris made. 2Vice President Kamala Harris went shopping for cookware on a recent trip to Paris What was the pot Kamala Harris bought and how much was it? At the beginning of November, American Vice President Kamala Harris travelled to France for a four-day trip to discuss relations between the two countries. While she was there, she went shopping at E. Dehillerin, a cookware store near the Louvre Museum in Paris. According to reports, Harris purchased a number of items, including a copper serving dish that many people on the internet mistook for a Le Creuset pot. However, a Le Creuset company representative confirmed to MarketWatch that the brand does not make copper cookware. The actual purchases the Vice President made include the infamous dish - whose price comes to roughly $370 - as well as a copper frying pan for around...

Vice President Kamala Harris spent more than $500 on cookware at a high-end Parisian culinary shop during her four-day visit to mend French and American relations earlier this month.  Harris stopped by E. Dehillerin with second gentleman Doug Emhoff and ended up spending nearly $578 on pots, pans and other items, it has been revealed. The vice president treated herself to a $367 copper and stainless steel serving dish and a $160 copper and stainless steel frying pan, according to The Washington Free Beacon. The store disclosed the vice president's haul to the Free Beacon. Harris reportedly finished her shopping spree with some smaller kitchen accessories including a porcelain cocotte and egg dish, a copper cleaner and various wooden spoons.  E. Dehillerin is an upscale culinary shop known for its inventory of commercial-grade copper cookware. It boasts famous chef Julia Child as a fan, with foodies and chefs alike considering it a must-see when in Paris, including the likes of Anthony Bourdain and Ina Garten. Williams-Sonoma, an American company, sells similar copper pots for between $200 and $400, depending on the style and size.  Vice...
Vice President Kamala Harris spent more than $500 on cookware appliances as Americans face rising costs and economic turmoil going into the holiday season, the Washington Free Beacon reported. During her four-day trip to Paris in mid-November, Harris visited high-end cookware store E. Dehillerin located outside of the Louvre museum. The vice president bought a $375 serving dish and a $160 frying pan, totaling 516 euros which equals nearly $600 at the current exchange rate, according to the Washington Free Beacon. An American tourist visiting Paris when Harris was at the store found out from a store clerk what the vice president purchased. (RELATED: VP Kamala Harris Sent To Play Nice With France After Biden Almost Ruins Relationship) “I was surprised that our vice president was out purchasing boutique pans in Paris,” the tourist said, according to Free Beacon. “She proclaimed at a press conference just a day earlier that her focus was on the American worker.” For comparison, Mauviel copper saucepan carried by luxury cookware brand Williams Sonoma, which is based out of California, costs between $200 and $285....

Scouting Report: This cookware made me realize the true power of my microwave. It’s not just for leftovers, it’s for cooking up gourmet meals. The trusty microwave is perhaps the only kitchen appliance that, no matter how many times I’ve tried to figure out how to use it best, I feel like I’ve thoroughly under-utilized. All I thought the microwave does is take up space and nuke leftovers. But when I noticed world-famous chef David Chang, founder of Momofuku Restaurant Group, was promoting a new “microwave cookware,” I decided I had to give it a try. At first glance, Anyday’s cookware looks like nothing much. The Everyday Set comes with four seemingly innocuous looking glass bowls, each one a different size, made with frosted, heat-resistant borosilicate glass that is durable and easy to handle. The lids look like one’s you might find on your stovetop pots and pans: they’re made of glass, with a touch of microwave-safe stainless steel. The dishes, as you might expect, can be seriously hot after cooking, so make sure to use oven mitts to grab...

The Environmental Protection Agency is set to launch a regulatory strategy on Monday to restrict the amount of toxic "forever chemicals" making their way into the country's drinking water systems. EPA will aggressively target PFAS, short for per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances, common in firefighting foams and household products such as nonstick pans that pose significant health risks if ingested. The plan will set limits for the level of PFAS in drinking water under the Safe Drinking Water Act and will require manufacturers to report the level of PFAS in their products, according to the Associated Press. The EPA also plans to categorize PFAS as hazardous substances under federal law to hold companies financially responsible for contamination stemming from their products and processes. Most great chefs, particularly ones that work in home kitchens, will tell you that cast iron is the cookware of champions. Whether slow-cooking a stew in a Dutch oven or pan-frying some home-fries for breakfast, the flavor and texture out of a cast iron pot or pan are better. Cast iron cookware has been around for centuries now. In fact, other than rocks, iron implements are one of the first things humans cooked on. And, somehow, we got that right early on. Since then, things have gone downhill a little. Stainless steel has proven ridiculous in terms of food sticking to it, and many non-stick surfaces are a suspected health risk. But, cast iron has stayed steady and true. Nevertheless, some people have been scared off of the old-school skillets, and it’s time to right that wrong, noting both why cast iron is amazing and why it isn’t so scary. Crazy Durability Go to thrift shops, yard sales, or antique stores and odds are you’ll run across some old cast iron cookware. It’s nothing to find a skillet...

Chrissy Teigen posted a mea culpa apologizing for her "awful" tweets over the years that made her an internet "troll." The model and cookbook author said she has been "sitting in a hole of deserved global punishment" in which she has "felt the crushing weight of regret" for her controversial comments. "I’ve apologized publicly to one person, but there are others — and more than just a few — who I need to say I’m sorry to," she wrote in a Medium post on Monday. "I’m in the process of privately reaching out to the people I insulted ... There is simply no excuse for my past horrible tweets. My targets didn’t deserve them. No one does. Many of them needed empathy, kindness, understanding and support, not my meanness masquerading as a kind of casual, edgy humor." Model and Joe Biden supporter Chrissy Teigen has dropped out of Netflix’s Never Have I Ever after it was revealed that she told fellow model Courtney Stodden to commit suicide when Stodden was an underage teenager, being groomed by actor Doug Hutchison. Teigen will no longer be part of the series in the wake of her cyberbullying scandal, as a spokesperson for the show said the model’s role is expected to be recast, according to a report by Variety. The news comes after it was revealed last month that Teigen had previously told Stodden to take “a dirt nap,” and expressed that she couldn’t wait for her to die. Teigen responded to the scandal by issuing a lengthy public apology, stating, in part “I’m mortified and sad at who I used to be. I was an insecure, attention seeking troll.” “I’m so sorry, Courtney. I hope you can heal now knowing how deeply sorry I am,” she added. “And I am so sorry I let you guys down. I will forever work on being better than I was 10 years ago, 1 year ago,...
New York based luxury department store chain Bloomingdale’s has reportedly walked away from a deal with Chrissy Teigen, as cyberbullying allegations against the Joe Biden supporter and husband of The Voice star John Legend explode into a full-blown scandal. On Wednesday, Page Six reported Bloomingdale’s was ready to finalize a deal with Teigen which would have seen her host a promotional event for the store but pulled the plug as toxic press continues to envelope the cookbook author and “Cravings by Chrissy” owner. “They pretty much had it together … but had to cancel it,” an insider told Page Six. In recent weeks Teigen has been at the center of controversy over allegations that she used social media to bully fellow model Courtney Stodden when Stodden was a teen. Teigen, who is reportedly worth about $75 million, has also had her spending habits subjected to public scrutiny. Yet another major retailer is distancing itself from supermodel-turned-cookbook sensation Chrissy Teigen following revelations she bullied reality star Courtney Stodden over Twitter when she was 16, encouraging Stodden to kill herself. Retailer Bloomingdales was "hours away" to inking a deal with Teigen for a promotional event at the store, the New York Post reported Tuesday, but backed out due to the "toxic press" the recent scandal was generating. Bloomingdales parent company, Macys, pulled her "Cravings by Chrissy Teigen" cookware line from its stores earlier in the week, the Post reported. Target pulled the cooking line in December, but said it was before the scandal broke and done to market a more exclusive brand only available there. "We made the mutual decision in December to no longer carry the cookware line, given our continued focus on brands we develop and that can only be found at Target," the company said in a statement to the Daily Wire. According to the story, Teigen, now 35, told the teen at the time she could not wait for her to die and wanted her to...
Chrissy Teigen’s Cravings empire was dealt a crushing blow on Tuesday when retailer Bloomingdale's reportedly pulled out of a deal it had in place with the author and model amid an online bullying scandal involving Teigen that resurfaced and left a heap of bad press in its wake. Since the former Sports Illustrated swimsuit model was outed by reality star and singer Courtney Stodden for cyberbullying when Stodden, 26 – who identifies as non-binary – was just 16 years old, major retail brands have ceased carrying Teigen’s Cravings by Chrissy Teigen cookware line while the mother of two’s cookbooks appear to still be readily available. Here is a list of where retailers stand on Teigen's products: TargetIt was revealed last week that Teigen's cookware line was dropped by Target in December, however, her trilogy of cookbooks remains on the retailer’s website. Teigen's mom, Vilailuck Teigen's cookbook, "The Pepper Thai Cookbook: Family Recipes from Everyone's Favorite Thai Mom," is also still available.  The timing of Target’s retract of Teigen’s line is purely coincidental as a rep for the big box store told...
Since Chrissy Teigen was forced to admit she cyber-bullied teenaged media personality Courtney Stodden 10 years ago, her career is starting to look seriously imperiled. On Tuesday, Bloomingdale’s became the latest retailer to cut ties with the former supermodel and so-called “Queen of Twitter,” Page Six reported. The luxury department store walked away from a deal with Teigen “at the 11th hour because of her explosive cyberbullying scandal,” Page Six reported. This news follows the report Monday that Macy’s, which shares a parent company with Bloomindale’s, had appeared to drop Teigen’s “Cravings by Chrissy” cookware line from its website. As first reported by The Sun, Teigen’s stylish cookware couldn’t be found on Macy’s site days after she was forced to apologize for writing bullying tweets and direct messages to Stodden 10 years ago, telling the then-16-year-old media personality to take a “dirt nap,” suggesting they kill themselves. Stodden, who is now 26, identifies as non-binary and uses they/them pronouns, opened up in a Daily Beast interview published last week that they were publicly shamed by Teigen and other celebrities after they...
CHRISSY Teigen’s Cravings cookware line reportedly lost a massive deal with Bloomingdale’s due to the star’s ongoing cyberbullying scandal.  Just before the luxury retailer was to sign on the dotted line to carry her famous culinary collection, they pulled out after fan backlash raged on from the model’s past controversial comments.   1Credit: Getty Images - Getty According to PageSix, Bloomingdale’s was “hours away” from signing a contract with the Twitter personality but called it off at the last minute.  The deal would have included Chrissy, 35, doing promotional events in person at the store.  “They pretty much had it together… but had to cancel it,” the insider said of the department store. Model and left-wing activist Chrissy Teigen’s cookware line can no longer be found on Macy’s website. On Sunday morning, the kitchen items in Teigen’s Cravings cookware line were marked “unavailable” on Macy’s website, and by Sunday afternoon, the items did not appear at all on the website, according to a report by The Sun. The items were pulled from Macy’s website after it was revealed Teigen had previously encouraged fellow model Courtney Stodden to commit suicide when Stodden was an underage teenager, being groomed by actor Doug Hutchison. Macy’s did not immediately respond to Breitbart News’ request for clarification on when and why Teigen’s cookware brand was pulled from its website. Teigen took to Twitter on Wednesday to publicly apologize for her past remarks, saying that she was “an insecure, attention seeking troll,” adding that she is “ashamed and completely embarrassed” by her behavior, “but that is nothing compared to how I made Courtney feel.” “I am so sorry I let you guys down,” the left-wing activist said. “I will forever work on being better than I was 10 years ago, 1 year ago, 6...
Macy's and Target pulled the cookware line of Chrissy Teigen, who last week publicly apologized for cyberbullying model Courtney Stodden years ago. As of Monday, a site search of Macy's webpage does not render results when users type the term "Cravings," which is the name of Teigen's line. The line is also not visible on Target's website, although the store told TMZ that decision had been made back in December. The Washington Examiner reached out to the two companies for comment. Stodden, 26, released a video on March 28 calling Teigen, who is also a model and cookbook author, a "hypocrite" and claiming she had bullied her in private social media messages between 2011 and 2012. Among the messages was one that said, "I can't wait for you to die," according to the Daily Beast. By Monday, while the Cravings line still registers in the search box, it appeared to be now completely offline, with a message telling shoppers, “We couldn’t find a match for your search.” It comes just days after Teigen — who has two kids with husband John Legend — issued a groveling apology for her attacks on Stodden, who accused her of encouraging suicide. “I was an insecure, attention seeking troll,” Teigen admitted Wednesday.

CHRISSY Teigen has made a name for herself as an entrepreneur and the author of best-selling cookbooks. On Thursday, The Sun exclusively revealed that Teigen's Cravings cookware line was removed from Target website. 3Photo of Chrissy Teigen's cookware line being displayed in TargetCredit: Alyssa/DarlingTomboy.com Why did Target stop selling Chrissy Teigen’s cookware line? The decision to remove Teigen's cookware line from Target was made back in December. The decision has nothing to do with Teigen herself but with Target's focus on their own brand. "We made the mutual decision in December to no longer carry the cookware line, given our continued focus on brands we develop and that can only be found at Target," a Target rep told Fox Business. The line was pulled earlier last month, however, Teigen's cookbooks will still be available at Target. According to TMZ, the cookware is now available on Teigen's website and in other retailers. 3Photo of Chrissy Teigen at an LA premiere in 2019.Credit: Getty Who is Chrissy Teigen? Model and left-wing activist Chrissy Teigen’s cookware range can no longer be found at Target, Page Six reports. The outlet also said Teigen’s cookbooks are still for sale on Target’s website. Page Six says the end of the Teigen-Target exclusive promotion partnership came last month and while the cookware line was initially exclusively offered through Target, “late last year, they decided to end the exclusivity.” Target confirmed the move to Page Six, saying “We made the mutual decision in December to no longer carry the cookware line, given our continued focus on brands we develop and that can only be found at Target.” (Teigen’s line of cookbooks, however, are still available on Target’s website). The removal of Teigen’s cookware line from Target’s online presence comes amid the fallout from her past cyberbullying of fellow model Courtney Stodden. Teigen — who (briefly) deleted her Twitter account in March over the platform’s “negativity” — took to Twitter on Wednesday to apologize to Stodden for telling her to kill herself when Stodden was a teenager. “Not a lot of people are lucky enough to be held accountable for all their past...

I have a love/hate relationship with sponges. I love the way they work, but it doesn’t seem to take very long for them to become so gross that I don’t even want to touch them, even after a stint in the dishwasher. That’s a major reason why I so much prefer these Emoly Food Grade Reusable Sponges. These sponges are made from food-grade silicone, which is super easy to clean, so they never become too disgusting to use. They’re also perfectly flexible, so you can bend them in order to get into corners or roll them to clean skinny glassware or bottles more effectively. The silicone is nice and soft, so you don’t have to worry about scratching any of your dishes, cookware, or even your car. Since they are textured on both sides, you can easily use them to scrub veggies, as well as dishes and cookware. I really appreciate the little loops on each of them...
