(CNN)From Louisiana to New York, communities across the eastern US are trying to piece lives back together more than a week after Hurricane Ida slammed into the Gulf Coast. When it made landfall in Louisiana on August 29, Ida was a Category 4 hurricane; and though it weakened into a tropical depression as it reached the northeast, it brought devastation to the region nonetheless. In both corners of the US, roadways turned to rivers, lives were lost and structures were destroyed by strong winds and rising waters. The recovery and repair could last weeks in some places, officials said.Just following the landfall, more than a million people were without power in Louisiana. A week later, more than 530,000 customers are in the dark, according to PowerOutage.US. « This time there is something that is not right”, Said President Luis Arce about the absence of jurors to the voting tables, a fact that delays the process and generates many complaints on social networks. The highest national authority considered it necessary for the Supreme Electoral Tribunal (TSE) to evaluate why several citizens who were drawn and trained did not go to the voting points. « It is very unfortunate what was evidenced in several tables, this should generate a deep reflection in the electoral body, that did not happen in the general elections, but this time there is something that is not right, apparently, It is something that the electoral body must evaluate« Said the president. Bankia The price of Bankia manages to resolve upwards the medium-term resistance that we identified around 1.6215 / 1.5835 euros per share, an area that now functions as a support area, an attack that, however, does not enjoy great attraction, as not being backed by a growing volume of trading and placing the price close to levels of resistance of a higher degree, such as (1) the upper part of the bullish channel and (2) 1.7685 euros per share. For its part, the growing structure in the medium term, under a clear process of growing channeling that starts from the annual lows of 2020, will not begin to be questioned as long as the price does not consolidate below (1) the support zone of 1,345 / 1,320 and (2) the lower trading band of the aforementioned bullish channel. Yankees’ Corey Kluber takes huge step forward in recovery process By: Alexander Wilson February 22, 2021 ShareTweetFlipRedditThe last two seasons for New York Yankees pitcher Corey Kluber haven’t gone as anticipated. He’s only pitched 36.2 innings since 2019, lasting just 1.0 innings before picking up a serious shoulder injury last season. The issue was so serious it shut him down for the rest of the year, and the 2-time Cy Young award-winning pitcher took his talents to free agency after the Texas Rangers rejected his $18 million contract option. Nonetheless, general manager Brian Cashman saw that as an opportunity, inking him to a one-year, $11 million deal this past off-season. If all goes well, Kluber will end up being an absolute steal on the free-agent market, but they are betting on him to be his 2018 self, which is two years remove and several injuries in the hole. Kluber enjoyed his first throwing session with cash or Gary Sanchez on Sunday, and everything seems to be progressing well up to this...

by Roger Kimball  Many people, including some good friends, believe that Joe Biden won the 2020 presidential election fair and square. Many others – and I place myself among them – believe that something is rotten in the state of Denmark, or, to be more specific, in the cities of Milwaukee, Atlanta, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, and Detroit, not to mention Maricopa County, Arizona. I think what happened was so rotten that I regard the election as illegitimate. What proof, you might ask, do I have? Quite a lot, in fact, and I’ll get to some of it in a moment. First, I want you to behold the evolution of the Narrative about voter fraud in the 2020 election. At first, the memo came down and said, “There was no voter fraud.” On November 12, for example, the Cyber and Infrastructure Security Agency issued a “Joint Statement From Elections Infrastructure Government Coordinating Council and The Election Infrastructure Sector Coordinating Executive Committees” that “The November 3rd election was the most secure in American history.” That’s from an official...
Getty Dak Prescott The Dallas Cowboys continue to speak in glowing terms about Dak Prescott’s recovery from his season-ending ankle injury. In a Friday radio interview, Cowboys COO Stephen Jones reaffirmed the team’s franchise quarterback is “ahead of schedule and rolling,” free of post-surgical complications. “I haven’t run into Dak in the last couple of weeks. What I do is get these amazing reports on how he’s doing. It shouldn’t come as any surprise. He does everything to the 9s and the 10s, he just does it the very best. He’s been so diligent in his rehab, and that shouldn’t surprise anybody,” Jones said on 105.3 The Fan. “They said (the team’s medical staff), if anything, he’s ahead of schedule and rolling. We expect him to have a full recovery. He avoided any of the complications that come anytime you have a bone that breaks the skin. You worry about infections and he certainly avoided any of that. We’re just fortunate to have a guy like Dak. It’s been tough not having him out there because his leadership...

By: KDKA-TV News Staff HARRISBURG (KDKA) – In Pennsylvania, 82% of COVID-19 patients have recovered but the true recovery can be a much longer process. State Health Secretary Dr. Rachel Levine spoke about what’s being referred to as “COVID-19 Long-Haulers” on Wednesday. These people are those who are still experiencing symptoms months after their inital diagnosis and illness. According a CDC study cited by Dr. Levine, it highlights the impact younger patients are experiencing from COVID-19. “Among people 18 to 34 years of age, younger people, who had no chronic medical conditions, 20 percent of those individuals reported they had not returned to their usual state of health 14 to 21 days after testing positive,” Dr. Levine said. Dr. Levine added that these “long-haulers” have also been older adults with more severe cases of COVID-19 and health care workers.
In an interview with Busted Open Radio, by way of Ringside News, WWE Hall of Famer Edge revealed that his injury recovery process is taking longer than he originally expected. “The Rated R Superstar” injured his triceps in his match against Randy Orton at this year’s Backlash pay-per-view. The incident was unfortunate as it was only Edge’s second singles match since returning to action following a nine-year hiatus at 2020’s Royal Rumble event. According to the legendary superstar, he’s used to making speedy comebacks from most injuries. He’s surprised at how long the current one is taking to overcome. However, Edge said that his age could be a factor and this is a new experience for him. “It’s a learning process because I’m going to be 47 next month, so I didn’t know how I heal from injuries, surgeries [and] things like that. It’s a slow process. I’m not going to lie. The triceps is a different thing. I got back from an Achilles in six months, but I was 35 doing that, so at 10 plus years, I don’t...
Roger Federer had a major setback at the beginning of the year. The 39-year-old initially had to undergo a knee surgery in February, but the problem didn’t end there. Federer later announced that he’ll be missing the rest of the 2020 calendar due to a “quick arthroscopic procedure” that had to be done for the betterment of his right knee. And now, RF is back on the court hitting the ball, foreseeing a strong return in 2021! It has been a pain for tennis fans to see Federer facing a setback at this point in his career. He made a good start to his 22nd year as a professional by making it to the semi-finals of the 2020 Australian Open.  After undergoing two knee surgeries within a span of a few months, the Swiss Maestro was forced to sit out for the entirety of 2020. This might be disheartening news, but there’s always a bright side to a story. Roger Federer has begun training for his return and has hit the court after a long time. Moreover, RF’s coach...
New Yorkers have too many worries at the moment, perhaps, to think about urban planning. But the breakdown of the city’s land-use process should loom large for all of us. Last week brought the news that Industry City, an applicant for a zoning change in Sunset Park, Brooklyn, is considering withdrawing its application and pursuing investments that stay within the limits of its existing outdated zoning, unchanged since 1961. Industry City is making this choice after unsuccessfully negotiating with Carlos Menchaca, the local councilman, over conditions to secure his support. Councilmember support is seen as a necessary precondition to full City Council approval, required by the City Charter. Such developments threaten the city’s future. Ever since the creation of the modern city in 1898, Gotham has relied on real-estate investment to create jobs, raise revenue and grow housing stock. But in a high-regulation town, growth doesn’t just happen. The land-use-approval process needs to allow it. When that process fails, the city can’t grow and change — including in response to a crisis like the one we’re in now. Real estate...

The Ventura County Sheriff's Office said in a news release on Thursday that the search for Rivera, 33, has transitioned from a rescue mission into a recovery operation as air and dive teams search the lake. The release also stated that "difficult conditions" like low visibility in the lake have made the search "a very slow process." In the area where the boat was found, the water was about 30 feet deep, authorities said in a news conference on Thursday.
