California Highway Patrol says, a little before 11 a.m. Tuesday, officers got a report about a shooting along the freeway just north of Pelandale Road. A big rig driver reported that someone in an SUV had just shot at his truck. One bullet was later found to have hit the driver’s side door, shattering some glass.     DENVER (CBS4) – Police in Denver believe a 48-year-old convicted felon accused of shooting two customers inside a Dollar General is now connected to at least two other shootings. Johnny McCaslin is now suspected in shootings that took place on Jan. 23, 25 and 26. McCaslin was taken into custody during a SWAT situation in Arvada on Friday. He is tentatively facing multiple charges including attempted murder and assault, plus a federal charge of being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm.     Authorities in central California were searching Sunday for six inmates who used a "homemade rope" to escape from a county jail, sheriff's officials said. Officers who responded Wednesday to a 911 call of a sexual assault at St. James Park and identified a suspect, 51-year-old Bashir Tacuma nearby. According to police, Tacuma is homeless man known to frequent the downtown area of San Jose. Tacuma was arrested and booked into the Santa Clara County Jail. Since then, detectives assigned to the case uncovered information leading them to believe there may be additional victims. On that day, 39-year-old Renard Thomas was found dead inside a car along the 300 block of Florence Street in Stockton; he had been shot multiple times.     St. Paul police asked for the public’s help Monday to find a driver who shot and seriously wounded another motorist in June. There was a young child in the suspect’s front passenger seat, whom he fired over, said Steve Linders, a St. Paul police spokesman.     PICO RIVERA (CBSLA) — An 8-year-old was killed and three other children were injured in a carjacking on Sunday in Pico Rivera, detectives said. The carjacking happened in the 9000 block of Whittier Boulevard, near Lindsay Avenue, according to Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Deputy Juanita Navarro-Suarez. The child, whose name was not disclosed, died at the scene, according to the LASD. The children suffered injuries after jumping from the van that the suspect carjacked. The suspect was after caught and is now in custody. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call the Sheriff’s Homicide Bureau at 323-890-5500. Please check back for updates.     SACRAMENTO (CBS13) — A 17-year-old boy was killed in a south Sacramento shooting late Wednesday night. Sacramento police say they responded to the 5500 block of Mack Road around 10:30 p.m. to investigate a report of shots fired and quickly found that a teenage boy had suffered a life-threatening gunshot wound. The teen was rushed to the hospital, but police say he was later pronounced dead. Another 17-year-old believed to be the suspect was soon arrested. That teen has since been booked into Juvenile Hall and is facing homicide charges, police say. Exactly what led up to the shooting is still unclear. The names of the victim and suspect have also not been released. Any other possible witnesses are urged to contact detectives at (916) 808-5471.

    One person was shot Tuesday at a busy Dallas shopping mall, and police were seeking a single suspect, authorities said. The incident happened shortly before 7 p.m. at the Galleria in North Dallas. Police Senior Cpl. Melinda Gutierrez said the wounded person was taken to Parkland Memorial Hospital. Their condition was not immediately known. The mall was evacuated as officers reviewed security video and made a store-by-store search of the mall for the suspect.
