SAMSUNG has launched a "try before you buy" scheme for its most expensive mobiles to date. The tech titan said Tuesday that US buyers of its folding phones, which fetch upwards of $1,400, can now take them for a 100-day spin free of charge. 2You can now try Samsung's foldable phones for 100 days before committing to a purchaseCredit: Reuters It means that new owners of the Galaxy Z Flip 5G or Galaxy Z Fold2 5G have over three months before they need to commit to a purchase. Should they change their mind within that timeframe, they're eligible for a full refund. The prior return window was 15 days. "This new initiative will help consumers try and see if a foldable device is right for them," a spokesperson said. The new program is available exclusively through Samsung.com in the US and is valid until April 1, 2021. 2The Samsung Galaxy...

Asked how he’s keeping the Democratic caucus united with such a slim 50-50 majority, Leader Schumer confidently held up his flip phone and said: “This is my answer.” pic.twitter.com/x7rHXOCsyR — Ali Zaslav (@alizaslav) February 23, 2021 After doing a bit of research, I’m fairly confident that this is a LG Wine. Which means that Chuck Schumer seems to use a discontinued flip phone that has a 3 star rating to do his business. One troublesome bit: The LG Wine might not have a functional caller ID, according to reviewer Kim1234. “You do not know who is...
In its second reversal in three days, the New York Stock Exchange reinstated its decision to delist three Chinese state-owned phone carriers. "The NYSE has announced today that NYSE Regulation will move forward with the delisting of the issuers listed below (“Issuers”) to comply with U.S. law," the Intercontinental Exchange said in a statement released on Wednesday. Upon reviewing new specific guidance from the Department of Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control, the NYSE concluded that China Telecom Corporation Limited, China Mobile Limited, and China Unicom (Hong Kong) Limited were no longer compliant. The three China-based telecommunications corporations will be suspended at 4 a.m. EST on Monday. The announcement comes just two days after the world's largest stock exchange announced that it was reversing its prior decision to delist the companies. In a statement issued on Monday evening, the NYSE said it "no longer intend[ed] to move forward with the...

SAMSUNG could be bringing out a cheap foldable phone next year. The tech giant already has a few of the infamous foldable devices in its Galaxy range but all have quite hefty price tags. 2The current foldable range from Samsung is quite expensive According to the latest industry report from Display Supply Chain Consultants (DSCC), Samsung could be bringing out a Galaxy Z Flip 3 in 2021. The report suggests this foldable smartphone would be cheaper than current models despite being newer. DSCC has made accurate predictions about Samsung in the past. The rumoured phone could have a price tag thats under $1,000 (around £750). 2Samsung is expected to bring out at least one new folding device next yearCredit: Samsung The report states: "Expectations for the Z Flip 3, Z Fold 3 and a 3rd foldable expected by Samsung to hit the lowest price points yet." Some of Hollywood’s most vocal leftists continue to go all in for the upcoming Georgia Senate election, with efforts to call up voters and fundraising campaigns in the hope of flipping both seats from Republican to Democrat in the runoff election in January. In the first of the two races, Republican David Purdue gained the most vote, but did not achieve the necessary threshold to defeat his opponent Jon Ossoff. Meanwhile, Democrat Raphael Warnock received the most votes in the other race, with incumbent Republican Kelly Loeffler coming in second. Both races were open primaries, with the vote splitting among various alternative candidates particularly in the second race, where no candidate won more than 35 percent of the vote. Last week, Breitbart News reported that Hollywood stars were pushing a left-wing group called Win Both Seats that aims to elect U.S. Senate candidates Jon Ossoff and Raphael Warnock. Win Both Seats is backed by Stacey Abrams, actor Kumail Nanjiani, actress...
What a difference eleven months makes. That’s how long it took Motorola to iterate on the original remake of the Razr. In that time, Motorola has crammed in 5G and improved virtually every aspect of the phone. Virtually every aspect of the original 2019 Razr needed improvement — it was a mess. This 2020 Razr is fine. But at $1,399, it’s also still incredibly expensive when compared to any other non-folding phone with similar capabilities. Whether that price is anywhere near worth it depends on how much you are willing to give up to have a cool, nostalgia-inducing flip phone with a folding screen. The new Razr is a cool phone, there’s no doubt. And now that it’s passed a minimum bar of usability and quality, I’ve mostly enjoyed using it. But I wouldn’t enjoy paying for it. Good Stuff It’s a cool flip phone...
Samsung’s Galaxy Z Flip usually costs $1,380 if you buy it new, but Back Market is selling refurbished units for $799. If you’ve wanted to own one of these but couldn’t justify spending the equivalent of two Xbox Series X consoles and a PS5 digital edition on a phone, now’s your chance to jump in. This version of the Z Flip is compatible with GSM carriers, including AT&T and T-Mobile. This isn’t the Z Flip 5G that was announced more recently; it’s the one that supports LTE. In the review, which you can watch above or read here, The News Brig’s Dieter Bohn lauds its performance and battery life, as well as its “solid-feeling, smooth hinge” design. Keep in mind, though, that its foldable glass is still fragile to scratches, and its cameras aren’t much to write home about. Back Market lists this model in “mint” condition, which means each...
NEW YORK (AP) — Most directors insist on having final edit approval of their films. Not the creators of “Wireless.” The series on the mobile-platform Quibi employs an ingenious way to tell a story on a smartphone: You see different things on the screen depending on whether you hold your phone vertically or horizontally. Horizontally, a traditional cinematic film follows a college student navigating the snowy Colorado mountains. But flip your phone vertically and you see his smartphone as he scrolls through photos, checks the map or calls his mom. That means that the viewer becomes the editor. And each viewer sees a slightly different film, depending on at what points they rotate the phone. “You’re never going to have the same experience as somebody else watching the show,” said Zach Wechter, the director, co-creator and co-writer. “It really is in our viewers’ hands when they’re going to turn...
New York (CNN Business)Why does the Motorola Razr 2 exist? Last year's flip phone reboot — the Motorola Razr — was a bust. The new version is better, but it remains a flip phone in an age when no one makes calls, with a subpar battery, a slowish processor and a mediocre camera. And for that privilege, you get to pay $1,400. Is the Razr 2 worth that much money? Absolutely not. Do I still want one? Oh, 100%. When Motorola brought back the Razr last year, it hoped to recapture some of the success of its legendary flip phone from 2004 that became America's bestselling phone of all time (before the iPhone stole that title several years later). The old Razr was impossibly thin — still, even by today's standards — and had that stunning blue-backlit metal keypad. The original Motorla Razr was lust with an antenna. Last year's...
MOTOROLA has revealed its highly anticipated Razr 5G flip phone and it's far more expensive than the beloved original. The first Razr flip phones came out way back in 2004 but last year saw the modern reboot and now Razr 5G is here to step things up once again. 3The phone will set you back $1399 / £1399Credit: Motorola The new phone has software updates, more powerful specs and a more refined designed than the 2019 Razr. It's a bit sleeker, with slimmer edges and a shiny glass back. The fingerprint sensor has been repositioned on the back of the phone. It's also slightly lighter than it's predecessor, weighing in at 192 grams. 3It has an improved front display that lets you use appsCredit: Motorola The Razr's appeal has always been it's ability to look just like a regular smartphone but fold in half with it's bendable screen. LG’s upcoming “Wing” smartphone is expected to be a dual-screen device with a swiveling mechanism, and the screen that flips around could be surprisingly thin, as shown in new leaks of the phone. Take a look for yourself in this video — when this person, who appears to have the phone, shows a side profile of the device, you can see that the rotating screen appears to be quite thin: The video also gives us a good look at the Wing’s swiveling mechanism in action, which allows one screen to rotate 90 degrees horizontally above another screen so they can align in a T-like shape. And in an image shared by leaker Evan Blass, included at the top of this post, you can get another peek of the thin-looking side profile of the device. Blass’ image also indicates that the Wing will have a triple-camera setup, come in two...
SAMSUNG has revealed the price of its new Galaxy Z Fold 2 smartphone and it might be more expensive than you were expecting. The UK pre-order page listed the phone as costing £1,799 ($2390) for 256GB of storage. 2The page no longer says the priceCredit: Samsung The website has now changed back so no price is shown. The price was spotted by a Reddit user before being removed. They speculated that the phone would be priced at around $1850 in the US but this has not been officially confirmed. Mystic Black or Mystic Bronze are the current colour options avaliable. 2The phone is infamous for its bendable folding screen that can open out like a tabletCredit: Samsung Those that have pre-ordered should get their phone on September 17. The original Galaxy Fold, the one with all those screen issues, was priced at £1,900 ($1,980). A lower price for the new...
Shortly after LG launched the Velvet, South Korean publications reported that LG is working on another dual screen phone codenamed “Wing.” Now, Android Authority has released a video showing what it says is “a near-final version of the phone.” LG has been experimenting with two-screen devices for a few years now, such as the Velvet and the V60 that were launched earlier this year. You’ll need a separate second screen accessory to turn those devices into dual screen phones, though — the Wing’s secondary display, however, is attached to the phone itself. While the video doesn’t show it, Android Authority says the secondary display flips out from the bottom of the main one. It sits perpendicular to the main display as a smaller screen that can, say, show who’s calling while you’re driving without disturbing the navigation app. In the video you’ll see a call coming in while the...
Meanwhile both Keith and Gabriel spoke about the device’s portability and premium feel. Gabriel had a lot more to add: “I dislike the size of new phones and having massive, inflexible slabs in my pocket at all times, and the Z Flip is a welcome (and significant) departure from this. The thing is incredibly portable and nice in the pocket. I adore the ‘cube’ design of the phone.”  Chris Velazco/News Brig Form Factor The Z Flip is unlike other folding phones (e.g. the Galaxy Fold or Mate X), in that it folds top to bottom (more like the Razr). User reviewers spoke about how the phone worked in day to day tasks, with most praising the design. Jackal said they liked “flipping it into an ‘L’ for video conferencing,” Mark enjoyed that “it sits open like a little laptop when I am reading or watching a video during a work conference...
MOTOROLA is planning to release a 5G-version of its Razr foldable phone next month, according to reports. The US mobile maker re-released its iconic flip phone last year and now a revamped version is apparently in the works. 2Motorola re-released its iconic Razr smartphone last yearCredit: PA:Press Association As well as 5G, the next iteration of the pricey handset – which features a flexible glass display – will come with a bigger battery and better cameras. Rumours of a 5G Razr surfaced on Wednesday after Motorola teased an online-only event scheduled for September 9. It's described as "getting ready to flip the smartphone experience once again," according to a Droid Life. No further details were provided. In May an exec at Lenovo, Motorola's parent company, revealed a followup to the 2019 Razr was on the way. 2The original Motorola Razr came out in 2004Credit: Motorola "There's a new iteration [of the...

That’s the normal price for the phone, but the savings come in the form of getting the watch, which costs around $249 right now, for free. Samsung’s Galaxy Z Flip 5G, the 5G version of the foldable phone it released earlier this year, is now available for preorder as an unlocked device on Samsung.com. Prices start at $1,499.99, a $70 premium over the previous LTE version. Along with 5G connectivity, that price gets you a slightly upgraded Snapdragon 865 Plus processor. Otherwise, the two phones are almost identical. Samsung is widely expected to announce a host of new devices at its Galaxy Note 20 Unpacked event on August 5th, including the new Galaxy Z Fold 2. The Z Fold is a tablet-sized device that folds to become the size of a smartphone, while the Z Flip is a more traditional flip phone device that folds in half to become more compact. The Z Fold 2 will reportedly also support 5G. We initially expected the Z Flip 5G to make an appearance at Unpacked before Samsung announced...
The unlocked 5G version of Samsung’s Galaxy Z Flip is now available for pre-order on the company’s website, and you could score a pretty nice discount. For a limited time, you can get a credit worth up to $650 — instead of just up to $410 — towards a Galaxy Z Flip 5G if you trade in another device. In case your phone has a cracked screen, you can still get up to $400 in credits instead of up just up to $280. The foldable phone normally costs $1,450, so the bigger trade-in rewards could help you decide, especially if you’re thinking of waiting for Samsung to unveil its next foldable device next week. The original Galaxy Z Flip is the best foldable we’ve tested so far this year, and the 5G version could be even better than its sibling thanks to a newer processor. It’s the first Galaxy device...
SAMSUNG'S Galaxy Z Flip 5G smartphone is set to be released on August 7. It's mostly an upgrade on the original Flip because of its 5G capabilities. However, seeing as Samsung has already revealed the price and release date, it could mean the new Flip won't be getting a mention at the event. The Flip 5G will be the first of the Galaxy range to contain the Snapdragon 865+ chipset. 2Two new colour versions are comingCredit: Samsung There aren't many differences between the 4G and the new 5G version but one is...
AN OFFICIAL trailer for Samsung's next folding mobile has leaked online weeks ahead of the gadget's rumoured launch. The short clip posted to Twitter shows the Samsung Galazy Z Flip 5G, which boasts a screen that bends like a retro flip phone from the noughties. 4Images of Samsung's latest folding mobile appear to have leaked onlineCredit: Twitter/Evan Blass It's an alleged followup to the original Galaxy Z Flip, which hit shelves earlier this year but had no 5G connectivity. Samsung has yet to acknowledge it's making a 5G version yet, but is expected to announce an updated version of the phone next month. Now a video posted to Twitter by notorious leaker Evan Blass appears to reveal that one is in the works. The clip, which looks to be an official trailer leaked to Blass long before it airs, shows a folding smartphone similar to the original Galaxy Z Flip....
We knew a 5G variant of Samsung’s vertically folding Galaxy Z Flip clamshell was on the way, after the first images leaked earlier this month. Now, we have an entire leaked video and a set of rumors about the new “Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5G” that seems to leave nothing to the imagination — and suggest it might be ready for Samsung’s upcoming August 5th Galaxy Unpacked event. Basically, it looks like it’ll be practically the same folding phone but with a faster processor and 5G. Based on phone leaker Evan Blass’ video — which shows the phone from practically every angle — it looks practically identical to the original LTE version that went on sale on February 14th. The only differences other than 5G support and a new “mystic bronze” color, according to XDA-Developers’ Max Weinbach, is that it’ll be oh-so-slightly taller and thicker, and be powered by...
Images of Samsung’s unannounced 5G foldable, the Galaxy Z Flip 5G, have appeared online, thanks to a listing from China’s TENAA certification center. MySmartPrice reports that the listing initially went live without the images attached, confirming some key specs for the device, but new photos have revealed its design. From the images, it looks as though the phone will be almost identical to its LTE variant, barring a new matte silver color scheme. The unannounced phone was also recently certified by the Federal Communications Commission. According to MySmartPrice, the specs listed by the TENAA suggest that the phone is getting a small spec bump and will be powered by a Snapdragon 865 Plus rather than the Snapdragon 855 Plus we saw on the LTE model. There’s still 8GB of RAM, but the batteries are listed with capacities of 2,500mAh and 704mAh, compared to the total capacity of 3,300mAh the phone...
