    (CBS DETROIT) – Three people are dead following a shooting on I-96 in Detroit. It happened Monday after 10 p.m. where police say gunshots were fired from two cars who were in the freeway’s express lanes. Police say a suspect in the second car got out of vehicle, ran onto the freeway and was struck and killed by another vehicle that was not involved in the shooting or crash.     (CBS DETROIT) – The Michigan Department of Transportation released a video Thursday on the update of the I-75 modernization project in Oakland County. The video explains the benefits of the new diverging diamond interchanges being built at 14 Mile and Big Beaver roads. MDOT says the interchanges improve driver safety by eliminating conflict points, such as turning in front of oncoming traffic. The video also shows a 4-mile-long drainage tunnel which is being built 100 feet below the northbound service drive from just north of Meyers Avenue to just north of 12 Mile Road. Once completed, the drainage tunnel will collect rainwater from the freeway and surface street structures through drainage shafts and it will store and strategically discharge the collected water into the county drain located near 12 Mile Road.     (CBS DETROIT) – A Detroit man is facing charges in connection with a shooting on the Southfield Freeway. It happened on Nov. 29 on Southfield Freeway near I-96 after a traffic crash. Devon Maurice Todd, 29, has been charged on a 30-count felony warrant including: 4 counts assault with intent to murder 1 count discharge firearm from vehicle 4 counts assault with intent to do great bodily harm less than murder 2 counts felon in possession of firearm 4 counts felonious assault 15 counts felony firearm Todd was arraigned Wednesday and given a $250,000 bond.     DETROIT (AP) — Two people who survived a collision between two cars along a Detroit freeway were struck and killed by a third vehicle as they stood next to their car on the freeway, state police said. Michigan State Police said both people died instantly Sunday night when a vehicle struck them and their car after they exited it and were standing by it on the Lodge Freeway. The victims’ car was blocking the freeway’s left southbound lane after colliding with another car that ended up along the freeway’s right shoulder, state police said in a statement. “The occupants of the vehicle in the left lane exited and were standing by their vehicle on the freeway,” the police agency said. “The driver of a passenger vehicle was southbound in the left lane and struck the previous vehicle and both of the passengers from the previous crash.” State police, who are...
    CBS Detroit – There were two shootings on Metro Detroit freeways on Sunday. According to the Detroit Free Press, the first shooting occurred on I-94 after I-75 said MSP Lt. Mike Shaw. While no one was injured, the victim said he saw a gold or tan van, in which a person in the back passenger seat laid down before firing several shots at his car. The victim then drove to a Detroit Police Station to report the incident miles away. The motive as to why the victim was shot at is unknown at this time. In another incident, a person called 911 to report a person in a black Maserati shot at their vehicle on the Southfield Freeway between Mcnichols and 8 Mile. According to Lt.     (CBS DETROIT) – The westbound I-94 ramp to northbound Lodge Freeway will be closed for bridge work next week. The Michigan Department of Transportation contract crews are working on setting the foundations for the Second Avenue overpass above I-94 in Detroit. The ramp closure will begin at 9 a.m. Tuesday, Oct 13 and is expected to remain in place until early November. During this closure, westbound I-94 traffic will be detoured via southbound I-75 to northbound Lodge Freeway.     (CBS DETROIT) – The southbound Lodge Freeway will be closed this weekend from 8 Mile Road to Outer Drive in Detroit for retaining wall repairs. It will begin Friday at 9 p.m. and includes the closure of the following ramps: Southbound M-39 to southbound M-10, Northland Road ramp to southbound M-10, Greenfield/M-102 (8 Mile Road) ramp to southbound M-10, and 7 Mile Road ramp to southbound M-10. On Monday at 5 a.m. two lanes of southbound Lodge Freeway will reopen to traffic with the right lane remaining closed from 7 Mile Road to Outer Drive for approximately two months.     DETROIT (PATCH) – Michigan State Police are investigating a freeway shooting they said took place on Lodge and Davison around 9:45 p.m. Tuesday. Troopers said they responded to the area following the report that a driver’s vehicle was shot at following an argument with another driver. The victim and suspect got into an argument when the suspect drives up next to the victim, police said. The suspect then pulled a handgun, and the victim said they heard a “pop.” One bullet struck the victim’s vehicle, police said. There were no injuries, police said.     DETROIT (AP) — A 37-year-old woman has been shot to death and a man has been wounded on a freeway in Detroit. The victims were northbound on Interstate 75 at the Eight Mile Road ramp about 1:15 a.m. Tuesday when someone in a second vehicle began shooting at the them, The Detroit News reported. The woman was a passenger in the first vehicle. The wounded man drove to an area hospital where the woman died. He suffered wounds that were not considered life-threatening.
