Francis Ngannou is one of the biggest mainstream attractions that the UFC has on their roster. While he could have ascended to this level a few years earlier, Ngannou finally reached the top by avenging his 2018 loss to Stipe Miocic. He is now the Heavyweight Champion of the UFC, but he may want another belt. No, Ngannou won’t be moving down to Light Heavyweight. But he instead might switch over to the sport of boxing. Michael Bisping has given his thoughts on the possible switch and the former UFC Middleweight Champion had this to say when asked about Ngannou stepping inside the boxing ring. “100%. The man hits like a Ford Fiesta going 17000 miles an hour. But for sure he can. In terms of technicality, he has a long way to catch up. He has the raw ingredients.” Bisping added that he would want to see...
As the proverbial third wheel in their wide receiver corps, Michael Gallup could be the key component for the Cowboys to trade up in the draft. The Dallas Cowboys opened some eyes by taking wide receiver CeeDee Lamb with the 17th pick in the 2020 draft. ‘What about Michael Gallup?’, many people said. A third-round pick in 2018, Gallup has proven to be a nice find and he was coming off an 1,100 yard season in 2019. As it stands right now, the Cowboys hold the 10th pick in the draft at the end of this month. Taking the best defensive player available feels certain, barring someone like Florida tight end Kyle Pitts falling to them, but the Cowboys would surely like to hit on some Day 2 picks too. They have one second-round and two third-round picks, but between picks No. 10 and No. 75, they have just one...
Signs of serious liver problems include tiredness, confusion, itchy skin and, according to the British Liver Trust, ‘writing which becomes difficult, spidery and small’, writes Dr Michael Mosley, pictured Large, the size of a rugby ball, rubbery and reddish-brown in colour, your liver is not a glamorous organ. Yet it quietly gets on with performing at least 500 vital functions, including removing toxins from your blood and helping convert the food you eat into energy, and you certainly couldn’t live without it. The bad news is that around one in three of us now has signs of fatty liver disease — which, as the name suggests, is the result of a build-up of fat which can lead to scarring and the liver becoming stiff and unable to function properly and, eventually, to liver failure.  Even if you avoid this extreme, a damaged liver is bad for your health. And...

More than 25 years after the release of ‘Seven’, director David Fincher will once again work with the film’s screenwriter, Andrew Kevin, on a film based on a graphic novel. Both have launched an adaptation of ‘The Killer’, which wants to have Michael Fassbender as the protagonist. According to Deadline, Michael Fassbender is in negotiations to star in the film, which will premiere on Netflix. Ceán Chaffin will be the producer of the project. Apparently Fincher has been linked to the project since 2007, when he was still working for Paramount. If cast, Fassbender would play a murderer who begins to break down psychologically as he develops a conscience. The graphic novel was written by Alexis Nolent under the pseudonym Matz, with artist Luc Jacamon. Fincher signed a four-year agreement with Netflix in 2020, for which he will develop exclusive content. The filmmaker, creator of two of the...

Michael Schumacher has the claim to be the greatest driver in F1 history. The German was in his pomp during the 90s and early 00s winning his seven Driver’s Championships. He won these seven titles in 11 years and fully cemented his dominance in that era. This was considered virtually impossible to break at the time.  However, Lewis Hamilton has changed this notion. After joining Mercedes, he went on a record-breaking run. He has already equaled Schumi’s record of seven title wins and is now on the brink of breaking it. Hamilton has beaten a bunch of other records set by the German legend along the way. He has gotten the most wins (95), most podiums (165), and pole positions (98). So, in addition to the most championship wins, let’s take a look at a few more records of Schumacher which Hamilton could break in 2021. 1) Most driver’s championships...
At least 36 people have developed a rare, life-threatening blood disorder, called thrombocytopenia, after receiving either of the two COVID-19 vaccines authorized in the US.  One of them, Miami obstetrician Dr Gregory Michael, died after thrombocytopenia caused his platelets to drop to virtually zero. He was just 56 and died of a brain hemorrhage just 16 days after receiving Pfizer's shot.  And doctors ordered Luz Legaspi, 72, not to leave her bed for over a week, for fear a bump, bruise, fall or other minor injury could lead to a similar hemorrhage and prove fatal for her.  Shot-makers and US health officials are investigating whether the vaccine was the cause of Dr Michael's death and other cases of thrombocytopenia.  Thrombocytopenia has been seen after other vaccines as well, and experts suspect that the shot does act as a trigger in some way - they just don't know why yet.  But...
(CBS4) – A bill by Sen. Michael Bennet, a Democrat and Colorado’s senior senator, could help speed up the delivery of COVID-19 vaccines. The bill is modeled after the Civilian Conservation Corps that President Franklin D. Roosevelt created after the Great Depression. Roosevelt put people back to work building public infrastructure like roads, schools and parks like Red Rocks Park and Amphitheatre. Sen. Bennet hopes to put people back to work building our public health infrastructure. Sen. Michael Bennet (credit: Joshua Lott/Getty Images) Liane Jollon, Executive Director of the San Juan Basin Public Health Department, said the bill would especially help rural communities. The department has a staff of 70 to cover 70,000 residents who are spread out across 3,000 square miles in Archuleta and La Plata Counties. Jollon said they were stretched thin before COVID-19. “We’ve had to repurpose most of our staff to respond to this event and...
New York Mets: Michael Conforto says extension talks could pick up soon By: Andres Chavez February 3, 2021 ShareTweetFlipRedditMichael Conforto, the New York Mets’ stellar right fielder, will play the 2021 season under his last year of team control. He will be paid $12.25 million in his third arbitration-eligible season, but once the World Series is over, he is, as of now, ticketed to test the free agent waters. Conforto was a force from the plate in 2020, with a .322/.412/.515 line, nine home runs and a 157 wRC+. The Mets would be smart to show a little more proactivity towards a potential contract extension. The New York Mets have been extremely busy this offseason, linked with just about every major free agent and having signed Trevor May, James McCann, Aaron Loup, plus the additions of Francisco Lindor and Carlos Carrasco...
CHICAGO (CBS) — The Rev. Michael Pfleger has long been a civil rights activist and champion of Chicago’s African-American community. It has been three weeks since his removal from St. Sabina’s parish, pending an investigation into allegations of past sexual abuse. CBS 2 has learned two people now claim Pfleger abused them. Pfleger’s attorney calls the allegations lies, with the motive being greed. But this weekend, both of Pfleger’s alleged victims – two brothers – shared their story exclusively with CBS 2 Political Investigator Dana Kozlov. They told her they could no longer keep their secret. Kozlov: “How old were you when the abuse started?” Younger Brother: “When I was 13.” Kozlov: You carried this around with you for almost 50 years? Younger Brother: “Yes I did.” Now, at age 61, the native Chicagoan is finally confronting what he said was his sexual abuse by Father Pfleger. He claims the...

The Covid-19 vaccines being rolled out across the UK are a modern-day miracle. It is a wonder such safe and effective vaccines were produced, tested and delivered in such record-breaking time — a real triumph of science, offering hope that our lives will soon return to normal. Yet just as remarkable as the speed and efficiency with which these vaccines have been produced is the brand new technology behind some, which is set to transform our fight against other infectious diseases, and even cancer. I first got sight of the power of these new vaccines last March when I spoke to Professor Robin Shattock, who is head of mucosal infection and immunity at Imperial College London, for a film I was making about Covid-19. The Covid vaccines are a modern day miracle, offering hope our lives will soon return to normal Professor Shattock — whose lab in St Mary’s Hospital,...
Olivier Douliery-Pool/Getty As a debate rages within the Republican party about how best to handle the looming impeachment trial of former President Donald Trump, noted presidential historian Michael Beschloss is now weighing in and putting Trump’s actions on Jan. 6 in perspective. Beschloss is not some partisan hack — though, in our divided media landscape, that will likely be the allegation from the dwindling pro-Trump media set. He is the NBC News Presidential Historian and a frequent commentator on the PBS NewsHour. He is also a trustee of the White House Historical Association and the National Archives Foundation and sits on the board of the Smithsonian’s National Museum of American History. He is, in laymen’s terms, no joke. He has published nearly a dozen books documenting the legacies of a number of presidents, so his commentary is far more authoritative than that of, say, Dan Bongino or Ana Navarro. And so...

Kobe Bryant was undoubtedly one of the most bankable athletes ever. For his sponsors, he was a revenue-generating machine. Adidas was the very first brand to understand his value and put their bucks on his name. He entered the NBA as an Adidas athlete and played in their EQT Elevation and KB8 models. In 2003, Nike offered him a $40 million 4-year deal, which he could not deny. It was in Nike’s Zoom Kobe 1 that he scored those monumental 81 points. However, recent news surprised the sneaker world when an American VC revealed Kobe wanted out of the Nike deal. Later, a noteworthy comment from a former Laker followed the revelation. Donald Trump’s former personal attorney Michael Cohen appeared on MSNBC on Tuesday and suggested that the president’s pardons could come back to haunt him, The Independent reported. “Once you get that pardon, you’re no longer able to invoke the fifth amendment, the right against self-incrimination, because you cannot be charged,” he said. “So all of these people may ultimately be his downfall simply because they’ll be testifying against him, either before a court or a tribunal.” The Fifth Amendment of the United States Constitution addresses criminal procedure and civil proceedings. Without its protection, individuals pardoned by Trump — including Roger Stone, former campaign chairman Paul Manafort, and former national security adviser Michael Flynn — would not have the right to refuse questions in court. As reported by The Hill, Cohen was convicted of nine counts in 2018 — including campaign finance fraud, tax evasion, and lying to Congress — and...

During an appearance on Newsmax’s “Greg Kelly Reports,” Flynn was asked about the actions the president could take to undo the results of the election. After Flynn suggested that the president could seize every voting machine across the country, he then suggested deploying the military in swing states that the president lost to President-elect Biden. “He could order, within the swing states if he wanted to, he could take military capabilities and basically rerun an election each in those states,” Flynn said. Flynn added that using the military is “not...
Retired Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn said President Trump has the authority as president to "rerun" elections in swing states he lost. During an interview with Newsmax host Greg Kelly on Thursday, the recently pardoned former White House national security adviser said the commander in chief could use the power of the U.S. military and dispelled arguments that invoking martial law to do so wouldn't be unprecedented. "He could immediately, on his order, seize every single one of these machines around the country," Flynn began, referring to machines built by Dominion Voting Systems, which demanded on Thursday that his longtime attorney, Sidney Powell, retract her "baseless" election claims about the company. "He could also order, within the swing states, if he wanted to, he could take military capabilities and he could place them in those states and basically rerun an election in each of those states. It's not...
LONDON (Reuters) - Senior British minister Michael Gove said on Thursday that Britain hoped to reach a trade deal with the European Union but that talks might go on until after Christmas. "We will want to ensure the parliament has a say, and a chance to scrutinises any agreement that's reached," Gove told a parliamentary committee. "So realistically it's in the days immediately after Christmas," he said of the deadline for agreement. (Reporting by Michael Holden, editing by David Milliken) Copyright 2020 Thomson Reuters. Despite receiving limited playing time, Denver Nuggets power forward Michael Porter Jr. has managed to establish an impressive in the 2019-20 NBA season. If he continues to improve his game, it may only be a matter of time before he catches up with Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray and becomes an All-Star in the league. However, with the team currently in a win-now mode, there remains a possibility that the Nuggets could use Porter Jr. as the main trade chip to land an established superstar before the 2021 trade deadline. The Nuggets were among the teams who were linked to All-Star shooting guard James Harden when he demanded a trade from the Houston Rockets. So far, Denver hasn’t shown a strong indication that they are planning to go all-in for “The Beard” but if they decide to join the Harden sweepstakes, Sam Quinn of CBS Sports believes that they should...

New York Yankees News/Rumors: Could Michael Brantley augment DJ LeMahieu in the Yankee lineup? By: William Parlee December 4, 2020 ShareTweetFlipRedditImagine if the New York Yankees had two DJ LeMahieu’s in the lineup. There are several teams interested in Michael Brantley, the twelve-year veteran fresh from the Houston Astros. Brantley has a lifetime hitting an average of .297, hitting over .300 for the last three years. Brantley is the kind of hitter that can replicate DJ’s hitting, and he is a lefty too. It’s hard to imagine the New York Yankees signing both LeMahieu and Brantley. Still, if they did, it would add a much need left-hand hitting player to the Yankee lineup that right now is so right-hand heavy, especially considering the Yankees have made no decision on Brett Gardner returning to yet another year in pinstripes. Michael Brantley departure may hurt double for the Astros. There is a bountiful market for Houston Astros outfielder Michael Brantley in his free agency. Brantley may be in his mid-30s, but the four-time MLB All-Star could be a valuable commodity for whatever team ends up signing him. While he could return to the Astros, one team to keep an eye on for his services are the New York Yankees. ESPN’s Buster Olney suggests Brantley could be a replacement for DJ LeMahieu should he walk in his free agency. Could Brantley be a Pinstriper? The Yankees need more left-handed hitting, and among the players theyve had contact with: four-time All-Star Michael Brantley. But it seems possible that he would be a Plan B to D.J. Yankees Rumors: If DJ LeMahieu departs, Bombers could go after four-time All-Star Michael Brantley By: Alexander Wilson December 3, 2020 ShareTweetFlipRedditThe New York Yankees have prioritized retaining second baseman DJ LeMahieu, but there is a slight chance he is stolen away by another club. Reports have indicated that LeMahieu is looking for a five-year deal, but the Yankees simply won’t budge and want to sign him on a shorter-term contract. Considering LeMahieu will be 37 years old when the five-year deal would expire, his value might not even closely resemble the price tag he is asking for. Nonetheless, DJ has been nothing but stellar for the Yankees since signing in 2019. During his first year in pinstripes, LeMahieu enjoyed 655 plate appearances, earning a .327 batting average was 26 homers and 102 RBIs. In other words, he was simply phenomenal, striking...

Donald Trump’s pardon of Michael Flynn could lay the groundwork for the president to issue a wide-ranging pardon for himself, a legal expert says. On Monday, the Department of Justice released a copy of Trump’s pardon of the former national security adviser, who had pleaded guilty to lying to the FBI during the Russia investigation. As CNN reported, the document appeared to give the former national security adviser “far-reaching absolution” from the series of crimes he had already pleaded guilty to in 2017, along with other possible related crimes. The letter also formally asked a federal court to dismiss the case against him. The wide-ranging nature of the document appears to show a template that Trump could ultimately use on himself, Neal Katyal wrote on Twitter. The professor at Georgetown University Law Center and former acting solicitor general of the United States took to Twitter to offer his analysis of...
One of the big moves that Mercedes made prior to the start of the 2013 season was bringing in Lewis Hamilton. He replaced Michael Schumacher, who, despite his best efforts, could not replicate his illustrious form from early 2000s. Many believed it was a passing of the torch from one great driver to another aspiring one. What has followed from Hamilton and Mercedes are six and seven World championship titles, respectively. However, former Mercedes vice-president Norbert Haug believes Mercedes did not force out Schumacher to make way for Hamilton in any way. He also thinks that had the German stayed, he could have won Drivers’ titles after the inception of the turbo-hybrid era. Michael Schumacher was not incapable of winning titles between 2013-2015, says Haug Speaking in an exclusive interview, Haug stated, “No, he wasn’t, and if you look you will see that Michael was close to his 44th birthday...
The initial reaction to Robinson Cano being suspended for the entire 2021 season for a failed drug test was the Mets had a little more than $20 million extra to spend on free agents. DJ LeMahieu’s name immediately was linked to Queens and provided fodder for a delicious bidding war between the Mets and Yankees. That might not formulate, since the Yankees remain the betting favorite to retain their most complete player and reigning MLB batting champion. However, that doesn’t mean neophyte owner Steve Cohen stuffs the Cano savings into his car ashtray. Cohen likely already had his free-agent budget set before Cano was suspended for a second time in what was shaping up as a Hall of Fame career. In addition to LeMahieu, the top rung of the free-agent ladder includes right-hander Trevor Bauer, catcher J.T. Realmuto and outfielder George Springer. Cohen is a good choice to get at...

by Andrew Trunsky  Dr. Michael Osterholm, a coronavirus advisor to President-elect Joe Biden, said that a 4-6 week lockdown that shut down businesses and compensated workers for lost wages may curb the spread of the virus and get the economy on track until a vaccine is approved and distributed. Osterholm, the director of the Center of Infectious Disease Research and Policy at the University of Minnesota, told Yahoo Finance Wednesday that the strategy would help decrease daily case counts and hospitalizations until an effective vaccine arrives. “We could pay for a package right now to cover all of the wages, lost wages for individual workers, for losses to small companies, to medium-sized companies or city, state, county governments,” Osterholm said. “If we did that, then we could lock down for four to six weeks.” Infectious disease expert Michael Osterholm on what Americans should expect from the coronavirus...

Dr. Michael Osterholm made the comments in an interview with Yahoo! Finance on Wednesday. The director of the Center of Infectious Disease Research and Policy at the University of Minnesota said that the government should consider a package to pay for the wages lost by Americans during that time. "We could pay for a package right now to cover all of the wages, lost wages for individual workers for losses to small companies to medium-sized companies, for city, states, county governments. We could do all of that, and if we did that, then we could lockdown for 4 to 6 weeks," said Osterholm. "And if we did that we could drive...

Osterholm, who serves as director of the Center of Infectious Disease Research and Policy at the University of Minnesota, said earlier this week that the country is headed toward "Covid hell." Cases are rising as more people grow tired of wearing masks and social distancing, suffering from so-called "pandemic fatigue," he said Wednesday. Colder weather...
In an exclusive interview with Mediaite, CNN legal analyst Elie Honig warned that President Donald Trump’s waning days in office will be a chaotic “pardon-palooza” that could even include a controversial self-pardon. Honig was a guest on this week’s edition of The Interview podcast, where host and Mediaite editorial honcho Aidan McLaughlin asked the former federal prosecutor what to expect from what will likely be several months of a lame-duck presidency — if current trends hold. “Oh, it’s going to be chaos,” Honig said, and added that “it’ll just be pardon palooza.” Mr. Honig noted that “There seems to be a little bit of an impression out there that the president loses some of his powers once he’s… lost the election and is a lame duck. Not at all. He doesn’t lose a single legal or constitutional power. He still has the pardon power.” Honig listed some pardons he...
Nearly 13,000 felons in Florida could be eligible to vote in the 2020 election after a fund backed by celebrities and other donors raised tens of millions to pay their fines. In 2018, Florida voters passed a ballot initiative on Florida Amendment 4, the Voting Rights Restoration for Felons Initiative. Florida Amendment 4 restored the voting rights of Floridians with felony convictions. However, the Republican-controlled Florida Legislature passed a law requiring convicted felons to fulfill all the terms of their sentence before they can vote. This includes completing "prison or jail time; parole, probation, or other forms of supervision; and payment of the total amount of all fines, fees, costs, and restitution ordered as part of the felony sentence," according to the Florida Department of State. The nonprofit Florida Rights Restoration Coalition raised funds to pay the fines of the Florida felons so that they could vote. In July,...
(L-R) Sean Connery and Nicolas Cage in "The Rock." Buena Vista Pictures Michael Bay, who directed Sean Connery in "The Rock," recalled a moment when the legend helped him out. In a story he wrote for The Hollywood Reporter remembering Connery, Bay said that when Disney was criticizing him for shooting over schedule, the actor had his back. 'This boy is doing a good job, and you're living in your Disney F---ing Ivory Tower and we need more f---ing money!!'" Bay recalled Connery saying to Disney executives. Visit Insider's homepage for more stories. Movie lovers lost an icon on Saturday when Sean Connery died at the age of 90. And it sounds like from at least one director who worked with him that Hollywood also lost an actor who had no fear of taking on the executives. The State of Florida could be seeing a significant increase in a new voting group after several celebrities have paid the fines and apparently cleared the way for up to 13,000 felons to cast their votes in Tuesday’s election, according to a report. LeBron James and former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg, are among those celebrities listed as having paid monies to the nonprofit Florida Rights Restoration Coalition (FRRC), the Tampa Bay Times reports. According to the paper, some $27 million in fines and fees have been paid. The contributions from James and Bloomberg could, potentially, clear the way for 12,800 felons to become eligible voters. A review of the potential new voters found that 74 percent were black and 68 percent were registered Democrats. The effort to register Florida felons comes two years after the state passed an amendment which restored voting rights to felons. The only barrier to...
    J. Michael Waller, an expert on strategic communication and unconventional conflict and vice president for government relations at the Center for Security Policy, said at a webinar with reporters on Wednesday that federal officials should be prepared for violent mobs on the streets of Washington, DC, that could attempt to attack the White House if President Donald Trump is victorious in winning a second term. “We have to prepare for these mobs by the tens of thousands if not more right in downtown Washington, DC … and storm the White House,” Waller said. Waller said that D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser is playing a role in what could be post-election violence by instructing the city’s police to stand down when protests become violent, even if their targets are senior officials in the White House or Congress. Two US Capitol Police (responsible for Congress) told me that Washington DC @MayorBowser has instructed...
FILMMAKER Michael Moore has predicted "evil genius" Donald Trump could still beat Joe Biden after slamming "fake news" polls. Savannah Rychcik October 29, 2020 0 Comments Filmaker Michael Moore is warning voters against celebrating ahead of the election because polls are not always what they seem. While the majority of polls suggest Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden could win the upcoming presidential election, Michael Moore is insisting President Donald Trump could pull off another upset. “It’s awful news that Biden’s ahead by seven points in Michigan and I have to fight against this constantly. I need to remind people that the poll back in July said at that point that Biden was ahead in Michigan by 16 points. Trump has cut that in half,” Moore told The Hill on Thursday. He added, “Trump has tightened virtually every one of these swing states to the point where they are saying this morning it’s five points ahead… Biden’s five points ahead in Wisconsin, he’s maybe three to five points ahead in...
The Dallas Cowboys fire sale could be coming, but how much would a standout player cost?  Whether the Dallas Cowboys want to admit it, this isn’t their year. Sure, playing in the NFC (L)East might keep them around in postern talk, but all that’s actually probably hurting the franchise than helping. If the team wants to free up more cap space to give Gallup or any player a long-term deal, perhaps making one of their defensive backs expendable would help. Josh Jackson never found his footing in the mix of Green Bay’s secondary and only recently started playing due to Kevin King’s injury. If the team believes King will return soon, this should help the Cowboys land another piece to their secondary through 2021. Gallup is coming off his best season where he hauled in 66 receptions for 1,107 yards and six touchdowns. He’s off to a similarly productive year...

Three catches for 17 yards. That’s what the New Orleans Saints have gotten from Michael Thomas this year. He has not played since suffering an ankle injury in Week 1, with a discipline incident keeping him off the field in Week 5. Now a hamstring injury will sideline him for Week 7 against the Carolina Panthers, and his status beyond that has to be a question mark. On Friday, the Saints also placed wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders on the COVID-19 list. He’ll at least miss Sunday’s game, and perhaps longer depending on subsequent testing. Without Thomas and Sanders, the Saints are set to roll with Tre’Quan Smith, Deonte Harris and Marquez Callaway as their top three...

Filmmaker Michael Moore urged backers of Sen. Bernie Sanders to get out and vote for Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden, arguing they could help push the former vice president leftward to pass progressive priorities like Medicare-for-all. Moore said if progressives vote they can make big gains and control the House, Senate and the White House. Biden then will have no choice but to sign liberal legislation that lawmakers hammer out, including Medicare-for-all, free college, raising the minimum wage and "all these things that were part of Bernie's great platform." "Our pressure will need to be on the United States House of Representatives and the Senate we're going to flip in this election," Moore said Tuesday. "We will have them. We will have the Senate and the House. They will pass the right bills. They will work it out. It may not be 100% of what we all want, but they will pass these bills. All signs point to the Senate’s swift confirmation of Judge Amy Coney Barrett to the Supreme Court by the end of this month.   Judge Barrett performed impeccably before the Senate Judiciary Committee last week, to the point that even Sen. Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif., the top committee Democrat, stated -- off-script -- how impressed she was.  The American Bar Association—by no means an ally of conservatives—gave its highest rating (“Well Qualified”) to Judge Barrett, praising the judge’s integrity, temperament, and intellect.  Democrats were so dispirited after three days of hearing from Judge Barrett that there was barely a third round of questioning on Wednesday evening.   DAVID LIMBAUGH: AMY CONEY BARRETT IS NOT A CONSERVATIVE JUDICIAL ACTIVIST, SHE'S AN ORIGINALIST Senators spent less than ten minutes reviewing her FBI background check. Bubba Wallace may be trading one famous number for another. CBS Sports reports that trademarks have been filed for a new company called 23XI Racing along with one for a #23 NASCAR car, suggesting that Michael Jordan and Denny Hamlin have settled on a name for the Cup Series team they’re starting next season with Wallace driving. (Jared Tilton and Kent Smith/NBAE via Getty Images) Jordan famously wore 23 during his heydays on the basketball court, while Hamlin drives the #11 Toyota for Joe Gibbs Racing. The number 23 hasn’t been used on a Cup Series car since it appeared on the now-defunct BK Racing’s entry in 2018. In September, Jordan told the Charlotte Observer that he’d like to use the number, but that it’s ultimately Wallace decision. “It’s all going to be what Bubba wants. I’m not going to impose on him with my persona,” Jordan told the...
Michael Thomas deserves a lot of credit for his maturity level Thomas got in a fight with a teammate at practice last week, leading to the Saints declaring him out of their eventual Monday Night Football win over the Los Angeles Chargers. It wasn’t the Ohio State product’s finest moment, as his altercation with Chauncey Gardner-Johnson put New Orleans in a precarious spot. Drew Brees is already descending at a rapid pace, and if you take away his favorite target, that’ll only make matters worse. Thomas also reportedly got into a war of words with Sean Payton, but such a report has been disputed. Regardless of his drama with the Saints, it would appear to be nearing a close. Football tends to mend those fences, and the Saints need Thomas — who doesn’t have a track record of this activity — to reach their ultimate goal. Thomas seems to now...

A major critic of President Trump is "raising the possibility" that the president may not be telling the truth about contracting the coronavirus. Writing to Facebook on Friday, liberal documentary filmmaker Michael Moore floated the idea that Trump was using word of a positive COVID-19 test to gain affection from voters ahead of the election. “He’s an evil genius and I raise the possibility of him lying about having COVID-19 to prepare us and counteract his game,” Moore wrote. “He knows being sick tends to gain one sympathy. He’s not above weaponizing this.” Moore added that he believes the president could be lying about testing positive for COVID-19 because he is behind Democratic nominee Joe Biden in most major national polls. “He’s losing the election. And he knows it,” Moore said. “It’s not 2016. He was hated in 2016, but he’s hated even more now. Millions of Americans are ON...

According to a recently published list of trade ideas, the Denver Nuggets could improve their chances of making the 2021 NBA Finals by acquiring Oklahoma City Thunder guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander for a package centered on promising young forward Michael Porter Jr. As explained on Monday by Bleacher Report’s Zach Buckley, it might be a bit “excessive” for the Nuggets to shake up their rotation after a successful 2019-20 season where they made it to the Western Conference Finals, only to lose to the Los Angeles Lakers. However, he opined that the team is currently one player shy of becoming a legitimate threat to win a championship. Although Porter could eventually develop into that missing piece, Buckley suggested that Denver could get immediate results by sending him to Oklahoma City — along with backup guard Monte Morris and the No. 22 overall draft pick in the 2020 NBA Draft — and...
Despite their ongoing success in the 2019-20 NBA season, the Denver Nuggets are still expected to seek major roster upgrades this fall. Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray may have both blossomed into dependable stars this season but in order to boost their chances of fully dominating the Western Conference and contending for the NBA championship title every year, the Nuggets should strongly consider adding another All-Star caliber talent to their roster. One of the dream acquisitions for the Nuggets in the 2020 offseason is All-Star shooting guard Bradley Beal of the Washington Wizards. The Wizards have already said that they have no intention of moving Beal but if they start to realize that they don’t have what it takes to capture the Larry O’Brien Trophy, they may finally consider moving their best player and undergo a full-scale rebuild. According to Andy Bailey of Bleacher Report, the Nuggets could offer a...

Drew Brees and the New Orleans Saints may be without star wide receiver Michael Thomas for the next four weeks.  As jacked up as New Orleans Saints fans were for the convincing victory over Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers during Week 1, things weren’t all gravy inside the Superdome during that victory. Negotiations for the fight fell apart between Poirier and the UFC. There were questions surrounding what would be the next move from the promotion. Many thought that the UFC would take a step back and try to renegotiate with Poirier, but Dana White said that is not the plan. They are working on a new fight for Ferguson. Could Ferguson welcome a UFC newcomer? “No, we’re not even trying to salvage it (the fight between Ferguson and Poirier),” White said in his post-fight press conference following UFC Vegas 10. White then said...
Former Libertarian presidential candidate Shaun McCutcheon sued the Federal Election Commission Friday in an effort to force the agency to declare whether or not Michael Bloomberg’s $18 million contribution to the DNC in March was illegal. Bloomberg bypassed the $35,500 individual contribution limit by funneling his donation through his presidential campaign, which was funded exclusively by the billionaire’s own wealth. The former Republican mayor was invited to speak in front of the Democratic National Convention in August, where he criticized President Donald Trump’s handling of the economy during the coronavirus pandemic.  A libertarian who unsuccessfully ran for president is suing the Federal Election Commission to force the agency to determine the legality of former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg’s donation to the Democratic National Convention, a copy of the complaint shows. Chauncey DeVega September 3, 2020 10:00AM (UTC) In a healthy democracy, political conventions are events where political parties select their nominees, resolve internal differences between various factions, solidify their platform for the public and try to win over undecided voters, as well as reaffirm the priorities of their base. A political convention is both a celebration and coronation of the party's chosen leaders. Unfortunately, these are not good or normal times in America. An authoritarian neofascist is our president. The country is fast approaching 200,000 dead from a pandemic — people who did not have to die if Donald Trump's regime had not sabotaged the relief efforts. Pointing to polls in swing states and the wide gap in enthusiasm between President Donald Trump’s supporters and voters planning to cast a ballot for Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden, progressive filmmaker Michael Moore warned Friday of signs that Trump may win the November general election. Calling for Democrats to ensure a massive voter turnout in November, Moore cited a CNN poll from August which showed that in 15 swing states, Biden was only one point ahead of Trump. “In Minnesota, it’s 47-47,” Moore wrote on Twitter and in a Facebook post. “In Michigan, where Biden had a big lead, Trump has closed the gap to four points.” Sorry to have to provide the reality check again, but when they poll registered voters in the swing states, Biden & Trump are in a virtual tie. The Dallas Cowboys' first-round pick is predicted to have a big rookie season. The Dallas Cowboys drafted wide receiver CeeDee Lamb with the 17th overall pick in the 2020 NFL draft, and he is already garnering high expectations. Adam Schein of NFL.com made an argument this afternoon that the former Oklahoma Sooner will soon become quarterback Dak Prescott’s preferred target. Lamb joins a roster that is already top-heavy at wide receiver. In 2019, Amari Cooper caught 79 passes for 1,189 yards while Michael Gallup was not far behind with 66 catches and 1,107 yards on the season. The duo also recorded 14 touchdowns between the two of them. But even with an established veteran in Cooper and a rising star in Gallup starting ahead of him on the Cowboys’ depth chart, Schein still believes Lamb could steal the show in Dallas. The football pundit praised the incoming rookie’s talent, pointing...
U.S. Attorney John Durham's criminal inquiry into the Russia investigation could disrupt the case against retired Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn, according to a top House Republican. Rep. Devin Nunes, the ranking member of the House Intelligence Committee, told Fox Business on Thursday that there are two factors that could shake up the protracted legal fight. "I think a couple things could intercede here. One could be that Durham or another U.S. attorney comes up with indictments," the California congressman said. "The second thing is that there could be more evidence that could show up." Durham's investigation, which Democrats fear could amount to an "October surprise," is expected to produce a report by the end of the summer, according to the Justice Department. A federal appeals court in Washington, D.C., agreed on Thursday to take up the case involving the Justice Department's motion to drop the prosecution of President Trump's former...
(CNN) — One knock-on effect of the hype surrounding “The Last Dance” documentary appears to be a boon in Michael Jordan memorabilia, with one pair of the former Chicago Bulls star’s sneakers expected to fetch over $500,000 at auction. The online “Original Air” auction of 11 items — browsing opens on July 23 and bidding takes place between July 30 and August 13 — is being organized by Christie’s and sneaker consignment store Stadium Goods. Christie’s has described the auction as “the most comprehensive sneaker record of Michael Jordan’s era-defining Chicago Bulls career.” The most valuable lot in the Christie’s auction is a pair of Jordan’s game-worn Nike Air Ship sneakers. The Air Ship sneaker was worn by Jordan in 1984 before the launch of his signature Air Jordan 1 model. His “Airness” only wore the pair during pre-season and early games of his rookie year and Christie’s expects them to fetch between $350,000...
From sea to shining sea, crime is surging and gunfire rings throughout the night. In some cities, anarchists smash windows and set fires, aiming to set up autonomous zones. In response, President Trump threatens to dispatch federal troops unless local officials stop the chaos. In their response to him, Democratic governors and mayors tell the president to buzz off. Oregon’s attorney general even sues to stop Homeland Security agents from making arrests in riot-torn Portland, and Mayor Bill de Blasio promises the feds would get the same rude welcome in Gotham. “If he tried to do it, it would only create more problems,” de Blasio said. “We would immediately take action in court to stop it.” CHICAGO'S LORI LIGHTFOOT TWEETS AGAINST TRUMP AS BULLETS FLY OUTSIDE FUNERAL HOME Welcome to states’ rights, circa 2020, where lawbreakers are the new protected class. And they say Trump is the one who violates national norms! The...
As Michael Flynn’s three-year legal drama nears its end, some of President Trump’s allies are hyping a new job for the ousted national security adviser: campaign surrogate. “He’s the perfect example of deep-state victimization,” former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich told Politico. “Great surrogate — lots of people would come to see him.” Flynn, a former three-star general who headed the Defense Intelligence Agency during the Obama administration, was one of Trump’s most vociferous boosters ahead of the 2016 presidential election. He was known for leading anti-Hillary Clinton chants of “Lock her up!” during the Republican National Convention that year — and in the years since has become a martyr-like figure for many in Trump’s base, after being prosecuted by special counsel Robert Mueller for lying to the FBI and pleading guilty. The campaign has not spoken directly with Flynn about stumping for Trump, an official told Politico. But...

Judge Andrew Napolitano said Wednesday that former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn may have a good case to sue the Justice Department. Napolitano joined Fox News host Dana Perino on “The Daily Briefing” to discuss Flynn’s case following an appeals court ruling directing Judge Emmet Sullivan to dismiss the case against Flynn. The Justice Department had filed a motion to dismiss the false statements charge against Flynn in early May. (RELATED: Appeals Court Orders Judge To Dismiss Michael Flynn Case) WATCH: “What does this mean right now for Michael Flynn? Is it over?” Perino asked the judge. “Well, it’s about 99.9% over,” Napolitano said, noting that there was still time for another possible appeal to the full court, since Wednesday’s decision had been rendered by a panel of three judges rather than the full court’s 11 judges. “There are 11 on that court. If six of them say we...
It is easy to imagine a new afternoon sports radio ratings war pitting the current champ Michael Kay versus Craig Carton. It would be a worthy sequel to Kay-Mike Francesa. Entertaining verbal shots would surely be fired and, to borrow an old friend’s phrase, there would be no pea shooters. Upon Carton’s early release from prison, everything could align for a second act at WFAN, but it remains complicated and not a sure thing. Though Carton was a skilled sports-talk host on WFAN and he does have a prior relationship with his former producer, Entercom’s New York radio boss Chris Oliviero, Carton is still going to need to earn trust to return to the marquee. When Carton was at his FAN peak in the morning with Boomer Esiason, he was always talented, but he played dirty. If the old Carton spoke about a convicted felon who duped people out of...

(Photo by Emma McIntyre/Getty Images) Michael Keaton could be what the DCEU needed all along to connect the universe. It’s time to let the real Batman return! When news first broke that Michael Keaton could be returning to our screens as Batman, there was plenty of shock and excitement. This is the kind of news the DCEU has been waiting for. While the DCEU has seemingly struggled to find its footing with a few hits and nearly double the misses, it feels like Warner Bros. forgot something major: they already had a DC catalog to look back on. In the comics, we have all read about the multiverse, and even DC TV has been exploring this concept of different universes and Earths. If it...

No one can question the basketball IQ of Michael Jordan. However his “team owner IQ” has been proved to be embarrassing at times. All the success he had as a player, has failed to translate in his tenure as an executive. From drafting Kwame Brown at #1 at the Washington Wizards to wasting multiple lottery picks with the Hornets, Jordan has been terrible at his job. His talent-spotting skills were questionable right from the early 2000s. Kwame Brown was a testament to that but his comments about a high school LeBron James were questionable, to say the least. “He may think he’s great enough to be on this level now,” Jordan said. “But when he gets on this level and plays against guys who’ve been competitive and very good on this level, he’s going to find it’s a big difference from that 5-10 high school kid.” Michael Jordan: Amazing...
