He'd been with Perry at another sister's home in Mobile, Alabama, when he stepped out around 11 p.m. to pick up cigarettes. As the hour grew later with no sign of him, "everybody assumed that he'd gone home to my mom," Perry says in CNN's docuseries, "The People v. The Klan."But Michael wasn't there. While out on his errand, the teenager was abducted at gunpoint by two members of the Ku Klux Klan, who viciously beat, killed and then lynched the teenager. Great praise is due to the Fox & Friends booker today, as the Prime Minister of Israel Benjamin Netanyahu skyped in from Jerusalem to talk about a great number of current events Thursday morning. NBA legends like Jordan and LeBron are key to sneaker sales – it’s a win-win business that grows exponentially every year. The sale of sneakers constitutes the greatest financial backing for most of the stars of the NBA, especially the legends. Michael Jordan and LeBron James are the two highest paid. The particularity? Jordan retired in 2003 and quadruples the amount received by the Lakers star. Nike, Adidas and Puma are fighting to take over the greatest in basketball. However, since Jordan signed with Nike in 1984, no one has been able to beat the American company. A study of Forbes reveals that Jordan received, until 2019, 130 million dollars a year for the sponsorship of Nike. Only and exclusively for the shoes. LeBron James receives $ 32 million for the same concept, followed by Kevin Durant (26 million) and Giannis Antetokounmpo (10 million). Michael Jordan, King Midas of...

Michael Schumacher has the claim to be the greatest driver in F1 history. The German was in his pomp during the 90s and early 00s winning his seven Driver’s Championships. Yet just as remarkable as the speed and efficiency with which these vaccines have been produced is the brand new technology behind some, which is set to transform our fight against other infectious diseases, and even cancer. I first got sight of the power of these new vaccines last March when I spoke to Professor Robin Shattock, who is head of mucosal infection and immunity at Imperial College London, for a film I was making about Covid-19. At just 22 years old, he joined the film crew for Seven Up !, a televised documentary in 1964 that focused on the lives of 14 children from different social classes in England. At first, the plan was not to continue with the story of the boys, but an idea came up. What if another movie was made that reunited the same cast seven years later? With this premise, Seven Plus Seven was born, a project that showed what had happened to the lives of young people...

Michael Jordan is arguably the greatest player to take to the basketball court. To back that claim, his fans frequently point to his 6 Championships with a 6-nil winning record in the NBA Finals. While he is also one of the few players to win both the MVP and Defensive Player of the Year trophies. To put it into perspective only Michael Jordan, David Robinson, Kevin Garnett, Hakeem Olajuwon and, Giannis Antetokounmpo have achieved this recognition. And to further separate them, only MJ, Giannis, and Hakeem completed the double in the same season. However, the Chicago Bulls guard was the first to conquer this previously unheralded feat. During his playing days, Michael Jordan had a fearsome personality and unmatched mentality. In fact, ESPN’s The Last Dance docuseries revealed that some of his teammates even feared him due to that personality. Regardless of his approach, MJ always got the job done. By the time he retired, Jordan was already regarded as the greatest player of all time by most people. However, there are a few things that Michael Jordan is afraid of. NBA writer Sam Smith revealed MJ’s only two fears in a recent article on the official NBA website. Smith wrote: “Jordan was upset because he thought it would destroy his image. That carefully cultivated image, while profitable, also hung over Jordan like a dead weight. I remember once talking to him about things he feared, figuring he’d mention death or serious injury. “He mentioned swimming since he said he couldn’t and feared the water...

Donald Trump has made unsubstantiated claims of widespread electoral fraud and has been trying unsuccessfully to overturn the victory of Democrat Biden.  His campaign has challenged the outcome in court in multiple states while also pressing state officials, lawmakers and governors to throw the results out and declare Trump the winner.  But Christie, who again did not rule out running for president in 2024, said Tuesday: 'We've had promises from Sidney Powell and other members of the president's legal team for blockbuster evidence and none of it has come forward. 'And so, you know, I'm as disappointed as anybody that the president was not reelected...

A Virginia state senator and Republican gubernatorial candidate joined retired and pardoned Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn in advocating for President Donald Trump to declare martial law and remain in office, stating that Americans should refuse accept the results of the 2020 election. In a Facebook post published early Tuesday morning, state Sen. Amanda Chase accused Democratic lawmakers of “legalized cheating,” and said she had partnered with former Trump campaign attorney and Kraken whisperer Sidney Powell in an effort to expose “extensive fraud” in the electoral process. After years of reminders from the right—complete with memes and merch—that Trump is the president, Chase declared that Joe Biden is not her president. “Not my President and never will be. The American people aren’t fools. We know you cheated to win and we’ll never accept these results. Fair elections we can accept but cheating to win; never,” Chase wrote. “It’s not over yet. Fresh off his presidential pardon, former national security advisor Michael Flynn on Saturday joined throngs of Donald Trump supporters in Washington, D.C. for a series of so-called “Stop the Steal” rallies to protest of the official results of the 2020 election. One day after the U.S. Supreme Court rejected a Trump-backed lawsuit challenging Joe Biden’s victory, Gen. Flynn led a swath of MAGA-clad rally-goers in prayer before declaring that he was certain Trump would remain in office for a second term. Flynn started his speech with a plug for Mike Lindell and his MyPillow products. The retired general then said, “we’re in a crucible moment in the history of the United States of America.” “The courts do not decide who the next president of the United States will be,” Flynn said, despite the U.S. Supreme Court on Friday essentially ending Trump’s chances of overturning the election results. “I will...

With Christmas just around the corner we will soon be scoffing lots of rich foods, which will make our tummies rumble even more than usual. Those grumbling, growling noises are the result of food, liquid, and gas passing through your stomach and into your small intestine. There is even a name for it, Borborygmi, a term coined more than 2,000 years ago by Hippocrates, an ancient Greek, also known as The Father of Modern Medicine. And now scientists have shown that these sounds can reveal insights into what is going on in the gut and may help diagnose common disorders. At least 15 million Britons have digestive problems, with around one in five of us suffering from the UK’s most common gut disorder: Irritable Bowel Syndrome, or IBS. Symptoms include pain, bloating, and either constipation or diarrhoea. Diagnosing IBS can be a lengthy and challenging process — as there is...

We’ve all seen news reports indicating how hard it is these days to get a bed in an Intensive Care Unit, given the spiking numbers of cases of COVID-19. But if you think finding a spot in an ICU is tough, try getting a bed in an alcohol or drug rehab. A new study finds that Americans locked away in their homes due to COVID-19 are turning to alcohol and drugs in greater numbers than ever, to cope with pandemic-related stress.  One in three Americans has engaged in binge drinking since the pandemic began. The study defines binge drinking as taking as many as seven drinks in a single session. The study, conducted by researchers at the University of Texas Health Science Center School of Public Health, was based on interviews with almost 2,000 Americans in the first month of the pandemic. Why are Americans drinking so much? The reasons are...

Chicago Bulls legend Scottie Pippen wasn’t overly impressed with “The Last Dance.” The incredible ESPN documentary shined a light on Michael Jordan’s rise to superstardom and Pippen’s role in the process. While Jordan’s sidekick looked good for most of the series, he apparently wasn’t overly pleased, and the retired NBA star elaborated during an interview with The Guardian. (RELATED: David Hookstead Is The True King In The North When It Comes To College Football) Pippen told The Guardian the following about his views on the hit series: I don’t think it was that accurate in terms of really defining what was accomplished in one of the greatest eras of basketball, but also by two of the greatest players – and one could even put that aside and say the greatest team of all time. I didn’t think those things stood out in the documentary. I thought it was more about Michael trying to...
Many NBA fans were impressed with ESPN’s 10-part documentary “The Last Dance,” which highlighted one of the greatest athletes and dynasties in all of sports: Michael Jordan and the Chicago Bulls. During the second episode of the documentary, Jordan’s teammate Scottie Pippen was viewed as being “selfish” for waiting until the start of the 1997-98 season to have surgery, and he was depicted in a very negative manner throughout the entire series. SCOTTIE PIPPEN FINALLY RESPONDS TO RUMORS OF BAD BLOOD WITH MICHAEL JORDAN Pippen told The Guardian in an interview published Sunday he told Jordan he wasn't happy without how he was portrayed and that he didn’t feel the series accurately told the story of his time with the Bulls. PAPILLION, Neb. (AP) — A Plattsmouth man was sentenced Monday for a fatal crash that prosecutors said was caused by road rage. Michael Burch, 36, pleaded no contest in July to motor vehicle homicide and leaving the scene of a fatal accident in the August 2019 death of Jody Emmert, 47, on Highway 75 in Sarpy County. He was sentenced Monday to three years in prison for each charge and his driver’s license will be revoked for 15 years, KETV reported. Burch was driving aggressively after having an argument with his girlfriend when Emmert passed him on the highway. Emmert applied his brakes when Burch followed to closely, angering Burch, Deputy Sarpy County Attorney Michael Mills said. “He went to pass Mr. Emmert on the left, and while he was traveling next to the motorcycle, he decided to ram his van into the side of the motorcycle, which caused the...
Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) is proof that America’s “real religion” is “whiteness,” Georgetown professor Michael Eric Dyson said in an interview with MSNBC’s Joy Reid. “I think about Mitch McConnell’s centrality in the story of race in just the last 10 years,” Reid told Prof. Dyson during a segment of Thursday’s The ReidOut program. “His blanket opposition and filibustering, using that good, old-fashioned Southern technique. This is a man originally from Alabama who used the filibuster prodigiously against President Obama, [saying] you can’t even put anybody on the federal court. You don’t have the right. You’re not a real president.” “I feel like Mitch McConnell is just as center to the sort of diminution of Black life that we’ve seen over the last 10 years as Trump,” she added. Dyson agreed. “There is no question about that,” Dyson said, and then explained the difference between what he called...

There are 1,442 days until Election Day, 2024 — and one CNN contributor suggested President Donald Trump may already be cutting campaign ads for that campaign. Speaking to CNN host Erin Burnett, Sirius XM radio host Smerconish gave his own take on Trump’s bizarre, 64-second White House briefing on Tuesday, where he touted the Dow Jones Industrial Average breaking 30,000 and then fled before answering any questions from the press. “So, Michael, the president had two appearances today,” Burnett noted. “They are rare these days, right? Even though he didn’t call them press conferences, loved taking questions from the press. Today, showed up at the press briefing room for 64 seconds. No questions. Just a statement. It was about the stock market. So that was purposeful. Why?” “That was a TV campaign commercial in the making,” Smerconish claimed. “Erin, as soon as I saw it, and he was only there,...
