Everything that I saw was wrong on every level whether it’s through the lens of being a Black man or through the lens of being a policing professional,” Commissioner Harrison said. The...

COLUMBIA, S.C. – A judge upheld a 20-year prison sentence on Monday for former police officer Michael Slager in the killing of Walter Scott, an unarmed Black man who ran from a traffic stop in South Carolina, rejecting Slager's claims his lawyer did a poor job. Mario Andretti is loneliest at night, when he’s home alone in his sprawling Pennsylvania mansion, and there’s no one to talk to but Gonzo, his 34-year-old Amazon parrot. One of the greatest racers of all time is struggling, not unlike so many people around the world during this pandemic that has devastated families and claimed more than 3 million lives. His sister and his wife died months apart in 2018 and maybe those back-to-back losses, and the hardness toward death that is inherent to racers accustomed to losing fellow competitors, should have prepared Andretti for 2020. But the blows were just too deep. Just too cruel. His beloved nephew John Andretti lost his three-year fight with colon cancer in early 2020, a death that shook the family. It came about six weeks before the pandemic brought the world to a standstill and Andretti suddenly had nowhere to go. There is...

CBS Michael Dorn as Worf Michael Dorn is a screenwriter, producer, and pilot. He’s also a musician and director. But what fans know him best for is the role he made famous — the heroic and grouchy Mr. Worf. From the very beginning, when Star Trek creator Gene Roddenberry told Dorn to make the role “his own,” Dorn did as much to create the character as any writer or producer did. Over the past few years, Dorn has been busy with video games, animated voiceover projects, and even a few on-screen gigs too (like Derek Ting’s Agent Revelation). In his free time, he’s written an entire screenplay for a Western, which he’d star and direct as well, called Quentin Hawks and the Road to Trinidad. But now, it seems that the wishes of Trek fans the world over may be finally fulfilled. Thanks to a tweet by Dorn himself, Mr. Worf might...

That one began in December when Rapaport saw a postgame interview and tweeted that Durant was “super sensitive about everything.” It turned into a direct-message war that the actor took public in March. In the messages, the hoops pro calls Rapaport a “bitch” and a “pale c–ksucker” and makes homophobic comments, while Rapaport says Durant looked “like you were gonna cry and s–t.” The exchange resulted in bad publicity for both of them and a $50,000 fine from the NBA for Durant. Rapaport is also an NBA superfan who produced a “30 For 30” documentary about the early 1970s Knicks (“When the Garden was Eden“). The fight for the "truth" is playing out in two 2020 election-related developments in Michigan and Arizona, former Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn said this week. More than five months after the November contest, from which President Joe Biden emerged the victor, Flynn insisted to a crowd in Nashville on Monday that former President Donald Trump won the election. The former Trump national security adviser pointed to a pair of controversial events — a lawsuit in Antrim County, Michigan, and a Republican-led Arizona Senate audit of election results in Maricopa County — as being "tactically" important. Both involve Dominion Voting Systems equipment, which have been subject to claims of voter fraud that have been widely rejected by election officials. Dominion, which also vehemently denies the allegations, has filed multiple defamation lawsuits since the November election, saying false claims about its technology caused "irreparable damage" to the company's name and reputation....

Kevin Durant sat out Wednesday’s loss to the 76ers, a defeat that could end up costing the Nets home-court advantage, and Chris “Mad Dog” Russo had a big problem with that decision. The former WFAN talk-show host, who now works for SiriusXM, tore apart the Nets and their star forward for skipping the showdown, although Durant just returned from a hamstring injury that cost him nearly two months. “Let’s go tell [former Knicks coach] Pat Riley, ‘Hey Pat, no [Patrick] Ewing tonight. I know you’re playing the Bulls and [Michael] Jordan, but Ewing’s going to pass because his knees are sore,’” Russo said hyperbolically. “There was many a night in many a locker room when Ewing had to freaking ice his knees, talk to the media. … Every game, sat there with his ice on his knees, and he played night after night after night after night after night!
