But that doesn't mean news from the tech stalwart about using the blockchain to support NFTs for corporate patents isn't an important development in the digitization of just about everything. Intellectual property specialist IPwe, which has been working with IBM for years on a blockchain solution for the patent industry, announced on Tuesday that it will begin representing patents as non-fungible tokens (NFTs), or digital assets, in a deal announced in conjunction with IBM. IBM's blockchain group already works with corporate clients on tech efforts like tracking food supply chains using the blockchain. Now, it will provide the infrastructure for representing valuable patents as NFTs,...
LAS VEGAS (AP) — Alex Tuch scored the winner in a shootout and the streaking Vegas Golden Knights beat San Jose 3-2 on Monday night as Sharks forward Patrick Marleau passed Gordie Howe for the most games played in NHL history. Robin Lehner stopped 29 shots and the Golden Knights won their seventh in a row, overcoming a two-goal deficit behind a pair of power-play goals from captain Mark Stone. The 41-year-old Marleau played in his 1,768th career game to break Howe’s record in front of a sold-out crowd of 3,950 that included his wife, Christina, and four sons. That wouldn’t have been possible in San Jose, where fans still aren’t allowed in the arena during the pandemic. Martin Jones made 38 saves for the Sharks, including five spectacular game-saving stops in overtime. Lehner, who stopped all three San Jose attempts in the shootout, improved to 8-0-1 since returning from...

Hideki Matsuyama, at 40/1, ended a new four-year winless drought by winning his first major championship at the Masters last weekend. He is not in this week’s field at the RBC Heritage, but five of the top 10 players in the world ranking are, including tournament favorite and world No. 1 Dustin Johnson (10/1), who returns to his home state smarting off a missed cut last week at Augusta National. Patrick Cantlay (16/1) missed last year’s event, but has event form of 3-7-3 from 2017-2019 and is looking to rebound from a missed cut last week. SILVER SPRING, Md. (AP) — Maybe the Luka Doncic rookie basketball card that recently sold at auction for a record $4.6 million was a bit rich for your blood. Perhaps you’d be interested in a more affordable alternative — say, a virtual card of the Dallas Mavericks forward currently listed for a mere $150,000? Not long ago, there’s no way you’d plunk down even $1.50 for a digital image that could be copied for free. But sports trading cards have gone convincingly digital, complete with rare collector’s items and the adrenaline rush of opening a fresh pack — minus the stale, shattered plank of powdery bubblegum you might remember from childhood. These digital cards, dubbed “moments,” appear on screen as spinning, floating digital cubes that each feature a video highlight of an NBA player. They sprang into existence just five months ago, after the Canadian tech startup Dapper Labs convinced...
SILVER SPRING, Md. (AP) — Canadian blockchain technology company Dapper Labs has secured $305 million in private funding — some of it from current and former NBA players, including Michael Jordan — to scale up its virtual NBA trading card site, the company said Tuesday. Vancouver, British Columbia-based Dapper says NBA Top Shot has rung up $500 million in sales and registered more than 800,000 accounts since its public beta testing phase began in October. The virtual cards come in the form of a floating digital cube that includes a video highlight of an NBA player and come with a non-fungible token, backed by blockchain technology, certifying its authenticity and scarcity. A LeBron James dunk highlight sold for $210,000 recently but more common cards can often be had for less than $10. Besides the NBA, Dapper partners include Warner Music Group, Ubisoft, and UFC. The company says the...
UFC Matchmaker: Stephen Thompson – Leon Edwards By: Daniel Cunningham March 23, 2021 ShareTweetFlipRedditThe UFC‘s welterweight division is in a very interesting spot at the moment. Just over a week ago, one of the top contenders in the division, Leon Edwards (18-3, 1 NC), made his return. However, the fight ended in a No Contest early in the second round. After the fight at UFC Vegas 21 was over, Edwards said that he wanted a title shot next. While most of us knew that him getting a title shot was unlikely, Edwards pushed for it. Then we got the news that UFC 261 is being headlined by the rematch between Kamaru Usman and Jorge Masvidal.  With the title fight booked, it’s now time to try and pair up all of the other top contenders at 170 pounds. Initially, the UFC wanted...
Adam Lowry had two goals, Connor Hellebuyck stopped 22 shots for his first shutout of the season and the Winnipeg Jets beat the Vancouver Canucks 4-0 Monday night. "I’m never going to say my game is perfect, but for one game, with the guys in front of me, we played a perfect game," he said. "Granted, there’s some luck in there and maybe you can find some mistakes, but at the end of the day, we’re looking back at this like we played our A-plus game. And this is what we want to try and continue moving forward with." She added a pair of undone jeans as well. The denim clung tightly to her round booty as the hugged her long, lean legs. The waistband was folded down to show off even more skin, which gave fans a peek at her flat tummy and impressive abs. She accessorized the style with a black choker around her neck. At the end of a race which saw the Norwegians miss the boat, Martin Ponsiluoma was imperial in shooting to win the world sprint title. Simon Desthieux, also the author of a perfect shooting, and Emilien Jacquelin completed the podium. The medal counter is unlocked for the French biathlon team. But, like the sprint of the 2020 Worlds in Antholz-Anterselva, the Blues take second and third place. On the demanding Pokljuka track, you had to be as precise with the rifle in hand as it was fast on the skis to hope to take a place on the podium of the men’s sprint at the 2021 Worlds, the first individual event on the program. This balance, it is Martin Ponsiluoma who knew how to find it at best. Author of the seventh time in skiing, the Swede was one of the fastest against the targets, which he managed...
The Golden State Warriors finished rock bottom last season. The main reason for it was the absence of Stephen Curry who played just five games all season. But following his return this season, he has been on a tear. Last night against the Orlando Magic, Curry went berserk once again. He had a monster 40-point game, along with eight rebounds and five assists. He was also a menace on defense as he grabbed four steals. The highlight of his performance was his shooting. He went 14-26 from the field and 10-19 from three. An ongoing theme in every game for Curry is how he toys with multiple defenders before breaking out with his dribbling and finishing the move with his jump shot. This skill has left his teammates in awe, and they praised him after the game. Andrew Wiggins said, “In a way it’s unreal. With two or...
‘Gol partita’. This is how Chelsea overcame the duel against Barnsley to reach the FA Cup quarter-finals. Tammy Abraham’s lone target, his man goal after also scoring a hat-trick against Luton Town, was enough to qualify Thomas Tuchel’s team in a encounter with very little brightness and much suffering on the part of the ‘blues’. In fact, practically the only clear play he had was the one scored by Abraham who in the final stretch saved his team by deflecting a shot from Barnsley over the finish line that would have meant the tie. The English ‘second’ sold his skin dearly and at times put Tuchel’s Chelsea on the ropes, which in the FA Cup decided to do several rotations. Barnsley dominated a first half marked by an exceptional save by Kepa Arrizabalaga, who started yesterday. The Spanish goalkeeper showed reflexes by clearing Brittain’s point-blank shot at 10 ‘....
NBA : By Eurohoops team / [email protected] Giannis Antetokounmpo had a monster night for the Milwaukee Bucks against the Phoenix Suns that would’ve been absolutely perfect if not for one late missed shot. Antetokounmpo finished the game with a season-high 47 points which could be 49 if he didn’t misfire in a two-point jumper at the buzzer. The Suns prevailed 125 – 124, despite Giannis’ season scoring record, 10 rebounds and five assists. “We got back to the game. Played hard, played good defense. The last play, Khris [Middleton] coming out of the screen from Brook [Lopez], going to the corner. He wasn’t open. The next look was me, I was open. Got to a spot, rose up. Didn’t go in but at the end of the day it’s a shot that I work on.” Every defense is looking to block Giannis’ paths to the basket...
A doublet of Sebastien haller in the first part it was enough to Ajax to pass over the PSV Eindhoven in the quarterfinals of the Holland Cup and eliminate him, in a meeting in which the first goal of the locals was born from the boots of Lisandro Martinez. The result did not reflect what was experienced on the lawn, since the set of Amsterdam he deserved so much more. The visitors fired only once between the three clubs, although they were about to force the extension in discount. Before the opening whistle, the exit from the changing room tunnel left a striking image. The holders of the Ajax they came out on the grass with the goalkeeper’s shirt André Onana, suspended one year for doping. The positive for furosemide occurred, according to the goalkeeper’s version, because he mistook his pregnant partner’s drug for aspirin. The squad showed solidarity...
Tyler Nilson and Michael Schwartz, directors and scriptwriters of ‘The family that you choose’, have a new film in hand: A production still without a defined title that will be supported as producers by Phil Lord and Chris Miller. Nilson and Schwartz will write, direct and also produce this future film that will be shot largely in Spanish and that will have a very naturalistic look, according to Collider, very much in the vein of what is seen in films like ‘American Honey’. Set in the midst of the growing AIDS epidemic in the early 90s, its story will more specifically revolve around two brothers from the Cuban punk movement who enter a sanatorium not because they are sick in the head, but to escape the poverty they surrounds them. Lord and Miller will produce the film through their Lord Miller with Aditya Sood, while Nilson and Schwartz...
FilmNation Entertainment has acquired the worldwide distribution rights to ‘Red Rocket’, a film that Sean Baker (‘The Florida Project’) shot last fall in Texas locations, being according to Deadline one of the first projects to be successfully shot in the United States during the COVID-19 pandemic under rigorous security protocols. Finding himself without resources in Los Angeles, Mikey decides to crawl to his hometown, Texas, where his wife and mother-in-law live. Just when this dysfunctional family seems to have found a way to make things work out, Mikey meets a young woman named Strawberry who works the cash register at a local donut shop. And then...

LEEDS, England (AP) — Leeds climbed into the English Premier League top 10 after beating Crystal Palace 2-0 on Monday. Jack Harrison’s deflected shot gave the home side a flying start, and Patrick Bamford tucked home a rebound for his 12th league goal and 100th of his career early in the second period. Leeds’ 10th top-flight win avenged losing at Selhurst Park 4-1 in November. It should have won by more and registered a first clean sheet in seven matches this year. Palace arrived in freezing West Yorkshire riding two straight league wins but was a clear second best for most of the match. The London side lacked a cutting edge in the absence of injured top scorer Wilfried Zaha. Leeds was quick to punish Palace for allowing too much space on the edge of the penalty area when Harrison’s well-struck shot deflected in off Gary Cahill in the third...

Guess girl Bri Teresi has upped the ante on her popular Instagram profile in recent weeks, inundating her timeline with ultra-revealing pictures on a daily basis. The 26-year-old was at it again on Saturday afternoon, bringing the heat to her 1.2 million followers on the platform with a steamy, throwback snap that left little to the imagination. In the photo update, which came in the form of a grainy Polaroid, Teresi was captured from behind in a pair of jean shorts that were so shredded that little was left to actually cover her. And while the garment excelled in putting her famously cheeky posterior front and center, fans were also treated to a stunning shot of sideboob as the Auburn, California product was posing sans top in the pic. Teresi credited one of her frequent collaborators — Los Angeles-based photographer and digital artist Jentrie Bentley — for framing and shooting...
Brunette bombshell Yanet Garcia tantalized her 13.6 million Instagram followers with her most recent share, a steamy shot in which she rocked a bold ensemble. Yanet was in a minimalist apartment for the image, and she posed next to a large set of floor-to-ceiling windows that flooded the room with natural light. The windows offered a breathtaking view, showing off the rolling hills in the distance as well as the stunning blue sky. The focal point of the image, however, remained Yanet’s bombshell curves in a daring ensemble. She flaunted her pert posterior in a red latex miniskirt that left little to the imagination. The garment was high-waisted, nipping in at her slim waist before stretching out over her shapely rear. The piece also had a lace-up detail on the side that fused the very top portion of the skirt together, but widened as it approached the hem, placing plenty...
Kelsie Jean Smeby was scantily clad in latest Instagram snap on Tuesday morning. The Italian model flashed her fit figure as she enjoyed a sunny day. In the sexy snap, Kelsie looked hotter than ever as she shoed off her oiled abs in a racy outfit. Her white crochet shirt fell off of her shoulders and boasted long sleeves. (AP) — Veronica Burton scored 20 points with a career-high 15 rebounds and she was an assist short of a triple-double to lead No. 22 Northwestern to a 69-57 win over No. 11 Ohio State on Monday. Burton also had three steals to move into second on the Northwestern career list with 237. The Double Shot at Love star sat with her legs open on a white blanket as she enjoyed the sunshine. The snap was taken during a vacation to a sunny climate, much different than the wintery weather Derynn is currently experiencing now on the East Coast. The television personality revealed in the caption she was trying to stay warm in her New Jersey home. The raven-haired beauty wore a black bikini top in her newest upload which was tagged as being snapped in Miami, Florida. Derynn’s breasts were barely covered by the tiny triangle top that was pulled up to expose their heavy bottoms. A whimsical addition to the ensemble was a strap attached to the back of the top that wrapped around her tiny waist. She added a white, high-cut...
Jersey Shore star Vinny Guadagnino asked former flame Maria Elizondo “want to get married” after the 24-year-old uploaded a new photo to Instagram where she modeled a white lace bustier and low-slung patterned pants. His remark generated over 8,000 likes from fans of the on-again, off-again couple who made a deep connection on the MTV series Double Shot at Love. There was no direct response from Maria regarding Vinny’s query in the comments section of the post. Maria’s followers encouraged Vinny to make a more permanent commitment to the New Jersey native. “Vinny, I think you may have missed your shot,” remarked one fan of the show who felt Vinny should have committed to Maria earlier in their relationship. “For real what r u waiting for? Niece Waidhofer left very little to the imagination her most recent Instagram snap on Sunday morning. The buxom brunette was likely to get pulses racing as she showed off plenty of skin. In the sultry shot, Niece looked smoking hot as she opted for a teeny top. The tan shirt was cropped very short and could hardly contain her busty chest. The day after breaking a world indoor shot put record that was older than he is, 28-year-old Ryan Crouser celebrated by taking the boat out to catch some bass. Sadly, the Olympic champion came back without any great fish stories to tell. Seems like all of Crouser’s best tall tales start and end with the shot put. A week after shattering a 32-year-old mark with an attempt of 22.82 meters (74 feet, 10½ inches) at the American Track League meet, Crouser will be back at it Sunday. No tall tale here: He sees that mark potentially falling again. “I can still throw quite a bit farther than that,” said Crouser, who will be among the athletes to watch as the American Track League holds the second of four weekly indoor meets at the University of Arkansas. How’s this for dedication: Crouser never missed a training day in 2020 —...
