We have to behave at the height of the circumstances “, the mayor has launched in an act in Madrid, who has also warned that the Municipal Police” will pursue with all the consequences “these celebrations. Democratic lawmakers have called for Marjorie Taylor Greene to either resign or be expelled from Congress. When Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) was first elected to Congress, House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy embraced her and told Americans to give Greene an "opportunity" to serve before judging her. But less than a month into her first term, that "opportunity" is not going well, and McCarthy is being forced to respond to controversy after controversy stemming from Greene's violent rhetoric and dangerous actions. Democratic lawmakers have called for Greene to either resign or be expelled from Congress after CNN unearthed Facebook posts Greene either made or liked calling for prominent Democratic lawmakers to be killed, the kind of violent rhetoric that helped incite supporters of Donald Trump to attack the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6 in a failed coup attempt.
Savannah Rychcik December 20, 2020 0 Comments Sen. Mark Warner (D-Va.) is reassuring Americans lawmakers are close to striking a deal on the next COVID-19 relief package. ABC’s George Stephanopoulos asked Warner during his appearance on “This Week” if the relief deal will come together on Sunday and if it is something he can “live with.” “The great news is Congress is not going to be the Grinch, we’re going to get this package done and I’m very proud that, in many ways, this package only came about, George, because a bipartisan group of senators spent a month working hard showing the American people that we can actually do things when we have such an amazing need,” Warner said. He added, “So folks who are going to run out of unemployment the day after Christmas or potentially get kicked out of their apartment or those long lines at...
Well that was a whole lot of 'rona infections for little return for Trump. Remember how Donald Trump specifically picked Amy Coney Barrett to make sure he had a friend on the Supreme Court to make sure he “won” the election? So much for that. With absolutely zero dissents, the court said, basically: “Nope, we’re not going to nullify the vote in Pennsylvania for you.” xhow it started / how it’s going one hour later pic.twitter.com/sKYqAdQiIo— Aaron Rupar (@atrupar) December 8, 2020 Officially, the court said, “The application for injunctive relief presented to Justice Alito and by him referred to the Court is denied,” but same diff. Either way, Trump is still a big ol’ loser. To put the cherry and the icing on top: This was his 50th loss in court.
Gregoria CaroFOLLOWMadrid Updated: 11/16/2020 3:43 PM Save The message of Ciudadanos (Cs) is inflexible to support the final draft of the General State Budget for 2021. «There are two ways and it will be Mr. Sánchez who has to decide between some Budgets for all Spaniards or some Budgets for a few ». The party maintains that what is “responsible” is to offer the country an alternative to the pact with ERC and Bildu. This has been expressed by the national spokesperson for Cs, Melisa Rodriguez, during the press conference after the usual meeting of the party’s Standing Committee held every Monday. He has also added that they will not make it “easy” for the government. The same message as the party president, Inés Arrimadas, has defended on TVE. Cs wants to put the PSOE on the ropes because they also believe that in...
(CNN)Four years ago in this space, I swatted down the idea that so-called "faithless electors" would deny Donald Trump the presidency when electors met to cast their votes for president and vice president in late December of that year. Instead, I predicted that while we would likely see a large number of faithless electors -- electors who vote contrary to expectations -- they would mostly be Democrats and they would have little effect upon Trump's chances for victory. We did indeed witness a record number of faithless votes. Most were indeed cast by Democrats and they did little to change the final outcome. Robert AlexanderSpurred by these events, the Supreme Court decided this summer in Chiafalo v. Washington that states could bind electors to the will of the voters in their states. Although 33 states and the District of Columbia have some form of binding law, just 14 states...
DEAR ABBY: My husband and I have been together since we were 21, and he has always had a distant relationship with his parents. Jeanne Phillips  I encouraged him during the first few years of our marriage to call them and visit. I stopped doing that after his mom and I had some choice words. If he wants a relationship with them, that is up to him. The problem is, when she tries to call and text with typically no response from him, she reaches out to me. We have two daughters, so I don’t mind sharing with her how they are doing. What I object to is her occasionally asking me to pass on messages to my husband. I’m a working mom of two, and I don’t have time to be anyone else’s secretary. Related Articles Dear Abby: I slam the window, but my neighbor doesn’t get...
A US military report has claimed that North Korea has up to 60 nuclear bombs and 5,000 tons of chemical weapons.  In the report, entitled 'North Korean tactics', which was published last month, the US Army said it was unlikely the country would ever give up its stockpile, adding it uses them as a deterrent to countries seeking regime change.   'Estimates for North Korean nuclear weapons range from 20-60 bombs, with the capability to produce 6 new devices each year,' the report states, adding that other estimates suggest they could obtain up to 100 nuclear bombs by the end of 2020.  In this photo provided by the North Korean government, North Korean leader Kim Jong Un attends a ruling party meeting in Pyongyang, North Korea last Thursday 'North Korea sought nuclear weapons because its leaders thought the threat of a nuclear attack would prevent other countries from contemplating a...
President Donald Trump is refusing to say if he will accept the results of the November 3 presidential election. In a wide-ranging Fox News interview the president would not give a straight answer, dodged the question, and insisted the election would be “rigged” due to mail-in voting. “I’m not a good loser. I don’t like to lose,” Trump told “Fox News Sunday” host Chris Wallace in an interview that airs today. “I don’t lose too often. I don’t like to lose.” Wallace asked Trump if he is “gracious.” The President shrugged, his right eye seemed to close, and then he refused to give a straight answer to that question also:  “You don’t know until you see. It depends.” He did not say on what, but falsely claimed mail-in voting “is going to rig the election.” Wallace pressed Trump, asking if he was “suggesting” he would not accept the results. “No. I have to see,”...
(CNN)On Wednesday, the world's biggest movie chain announced it may not bounce back from the financial damage of the pandemic shutdown. AMC Theaters has said it is "generating effectively no revenue," hasn't for some time, and doesn't see the forecast improving anytime soon. Sara Stewart As a professional moviegoer and lifelong cinephile, I'd like to venture a suggestion: Maybe the crumbling of Big Cinema has been a long time coming? It seems likely -- and some surveys confirm -- that even after lockdown measures wane, people will favor streaming movies at home over the risks associated with going out. But I think we're at a moment of great potential for an overhaul of the whole business of cinema. While I have immense sympathy for the many workers whose jobs will be affected by this precipitous downfall of AMC and other big movie chains, the cinematic experience was in free-fall...
