The Treasury portfolio issued an alert in the presence of people who are engaged in committing scams in various parts of the national territory. The modus operandi of the criminals would be the following: they pretend to be ministry officials and call the radio stations in the interior to supposedly report on the process that must be carried out to access the pension for the elderly. In some cases, the name of the director of Non-Contributory Pensions of the Treasury, Juan Ángel Álvarez, is used to provide telephone numbers and under the promise of including the elderly to the list of beneficiaries, all this in exchange for a sum of money which must be sent through money orders. The Ministry of Finance clarifies that no official in the area contacts those interested in accessing the Alimony Pension for the Elderly. So too. Remember that all procedures are free and that...
Judge Leslie Abrams Gardner, the sister of former gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams (D-GA) and an appointee of former President Barack Obama, changed an order on Wednesday that she issued two days prior regarding the voting eligibility of 4,000 persons in a Georgia county. On Monday, Gardner blocked challenges to voter eligibility in two Georgia counties — Muscogee County and Ben Hill County — ahead of Georgia’s runoff elections. The counties sought to require registered voters — about 4,000 in Muscogee and 125 in Ben Hill — to cast provisional ballots due to changes of address recorded with the U.S. Postal Service. Provisional ballots are given to people whose voting eligibility is questioned or undetermined. The eligibility of such persons to vote is subsequently examined after their casting of provisional ballots CBS reported on the initial challenge to the eligibility of some over 4,000 voter registrations in Muscogee : [Muscogee resident]...

Donald Trump may have earned Lil Pump’s endorsement, but he reportedly never got the rapper’s vote. The 20-year-old “Gucci Gang” rapper was one of the most high-profile endorsements for the president in the waning days of the campaign, throwing his support behind him and saying he would move to Colombia if Joe Biden won the race. But a new report from The Smoking Gun found that the Miami native never actually cast a ballot in the race — because he was never properly registered in the first place. The outlet found that there was no one listed under the name Gazzy Garcia, his real name. “According to Florida state voter rolls, Garcia has never been registered to vote (he turned 18 in August 2018),” the report noted. “Additionally, a supervisor with the Miami-Dade County Elections Department also reported that Garcia is not registered to vote. The official, Robert Rodriguez, said...

The new series of The Crown will tell the tragic story of the Queen's 'hidden' cousins who were locked up in an asylum and registered as dead after being born with severe learning difficulties. The Netflix drama returns to our screens this weekend and offers its take on the shameful scandal that saw sisters Katherine and Nerissa Bowes-Lyon - the Queen Mother's nieces - neglected and forgotten about for decades.  At the ages of 15 and 22 respectively, the pair, who were unable to speak due to their condition, were secretly placed in the Royal Earlswood Institution for Mental Defectives in Redhill, Surrey by their parents in 1941.  They remained at the institution, cruelly dubbed The National Asylum for Idiots, for the majority of their lives and, according to reports, were barely ever visited and registered as dead.   The fourth season of The Crown tells the tragic story of...
Georgia Democrat Stacey Abrams campaigned openly to become Joe Biden’s running mate — but despite being passed over, many fellow Democrats credit her with what’s starting to look like a win in the Peach State. Abrams, 46, emerges from the Nov. 3 election with a boosted profile and validation of her claim that Georgia is a swing state. The current count there favors Biden by 1,579 votes. The Yale Law School grad who barely lost in her bid to become governor in 2018 now is the subject of preliminary chatter about a role in a Biden administration. Supporters on social media are promoting her for attorney general. “We’ve got a very strong ground game in Georgia because of the leadership of Stacey Abrams,” Sen. Chris Coons (D-Del.), a close Biden ally, said in a Thursday MSNBC interview. Georgia is one of the final states to complete ballot counting, keeping the...

The fate of more than 15,000 Arizona residents who registered to vote after the state’s deadline is under consideration by a federal panel of judges. Attorneys representing the Arizona Secretary of State’s Office, the Attorney General’s Office, and the Republican National Committee asked the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals on Monday to reverse a lower court’s ruling that extended Arizona’s registration deadline to Oct 23 from Oct. 3. The initial complaint was filed on Sept. 30 by advocacy groups Mi Familia Vota and Arizona Coalition for Change, and resident Ulises Ventura, saying the pandemic has hurt the organizations’ efforts to register people to vote in the November election. Their lawyer argued that the pandemic provided underlying circumstances that made changing the deadline appropriate. Arizona Secretary of State Katie Hobbs opposes the extension, saying holding an in-person election would be impeded if voters were still being registered up...

Reuters September 8, 2020 0 Comments With less than two months to go until the U.S. election, President Donald Trump is having trouble energizing his core supporters, especially white voters without college degrees who were key to his victory in 2016, a Reuters polling analysis shows. The analysis, based on Reuters/Ipsos national opinion polling from May to August and 2016 exit poll data, found that Trump has lost support among non-college educated whites, who made up 44% of the U.S. electorate four years ago and heavily favored the Republican over Democrat Hillary Clinton. Trump is still more popular with this group than Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden, with 46% saying they would vote for Trump, compared with 34% who back Biden. But his 12-point advantage in August is down from a 21-point lead in May, and well below the 34-point advantage he had over Clinton. https://tmsnrt.rs/2ZajmYu What is more...

Now, however, actress Jodie Comer has found herself the victim after hundreds of social media users called for her to be ‘cancelled’ – the modern equivalent of being chased with burning torches. Too much poll watching this far ahead of an election is of questionable value. And I generally rely on an average of many polls when I do write about them. But I’ll deviate from both those practices to pass along a fresh poll out today because it was done by the New York Times, which has earned an above-average level of credibility in my estimation, and because it shows a very surprising result. According to the just-published poll, by the Times “Upshot” operation in conjunction with Siena College, Joe Biden leads Donald Trump in the race for president by 14 percentage points. Fourteen points. That’s a big number. If you want it hedge it, note that 50 percent for Biden to 36 percent for Trump with 14 percent in the “other” category, which includes those who said they would vote for another candidate, or did not know for whom they...

Without vaccines or effective treatment against the new virus, the global number of cases exceeded 9 million yesterday and today it was already 9.1 million, according to the WHO, a UN agency. .

EXCLUSIVE: A voter filed a lawsuit Tuesday against Michigan Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson, Bureau of Elections Director Jonathan Brater and other officials, claiming that in at least 16 counties voter rolls have not been properly maintained and that this leaves them vulnerable to fraud in November's election.Tony Daunt, a Republican active in his state and county parties, alleges that the Michigan voter registration rates in these counties are “suspiciously high” because their voting records have not been cleaned out to remove ineligible voters, including those who have died, moved, or been convicted of felonies. MICHIGAN POLICE CHIEF ON LEAVE AFTER POSTS ABOUT 'BODY BAGS' FOR PROTESTERS “Retaining voter rolls bloated with ineligible voters harms the electoral process, heightens the risk of electoral fraud, and undermines public confidence in elections,” says Daunt’s complaint, which was filed in federal court in the Western District of Michigan.
