For any passing motorist, it would have been quite a sight. There was Princess Diana driving down the motorway, music blaring from the stereo, singing at the top of her voice with her two sons energetically joining in from the back seats. Moreover, the Royal pop group had an unlikely additional member – their Royal personal protection officer. The scene, as Princes William and Harry were being driven back to school by their mother, is vividly recreated by the Duke of Cambridge in what is an affectionate reflection about his mother. The song of choice, rather aptly, was Tina Turner’s Simply the Best and it was deployed by Diana to raise the spirits of her children as they returned to boarding school. William, 39, admits the happy memories are tinged with sadness as the ‘family moment’ is cut short as the school gates appear into view and he realises he must say goodbye. ‘When I was younger, Harry and I, we were at boarding school,’ says William, who began boarding at Ludgrove school in Berkshire when he was eight. Diana's former royal chef Darren McGrady has revealed he used to coax the Queen into choosing the Princess' favourite bread and butter pudding by giving the monarch a second choice he knew she would reject. Speaking on his YouTube channel, the royal chef, 59, who spent 15 years in the royal kitchen, explained that he would always run the daily menu with two options past the monarch, and if Diana was visiting, he would make sure her favourite dessert - a cross between bread pudding and creme brûlée - was top on the menu. And menu planning isn't the only process that goes into feeding the royal family, with the Queen's ex-chef Graham Tinsley revealing the food has to be X-rayed as part of security protocol at state banquets. Prince Harry is not expected to return to Britain next week to join his brother Prince William at a party to honour their mother. He had been due to attend the event at Kensington Palace, and his absence will no doubt be seen as a snub to the Cambridges. The party had originally been planned for July 1, when the brothers unveiled a statue of Diana, Princess of Wales, on what would have been her 60th birthday.  Harry, 37, flew back for the unveiling without wife Meghan, who had given birth to the couple's second child, Lilibet Diana, on June 4. Prince Harry is not expected to return to Britain next week to join his brother Prince William at a party to honour their mother Due to coronavirus restrictions, the plans were scaled back, with just the Princes, their uncle Earl Spencer and aunts Lady Sarah McCorquodale and Lady Jane Fellowes present. PRINCESS Diana is at war with the royal family in Kristen Stewart's new film Spencer. In scenes sure to upset the Royal Family - especially Prince William and Prince Charles - the Monarchy is stripped back to a cold firm set in its ways, unwilling to bend or compromise to any degree. 3In Spencer, Princess Diana is at odds with the royal familyCredit: Alamy 3Her marital breakdown is laid bareCredit: Alamy While Charles' infidelity and lack of affection are repeatedly drawn on during the film, so is young Prince William's heartbreak at watching his mother in pain. Set over the three days of Christmas in 1991 - from Christmas Eve to Boxing Day - the film is a gloomy, uncompromising take on how director Pablo Larraín sees Diana's world as her marriage became totally broken down and unsalvageable. With speculation about the state of Charles and Diana's relationship rife, the royals bunker down at Sandringham - with a paranoid Charles even ordering Diana's curtains to be sewn together against her wishes in a bid to stop her opening them and...

She dressed down following the red carpet, rocking a crop top and blazer in addition to seemingly redder hair. Her premiere look comes a month after the star rocked a super short Chanel romper while promoting the film at the Venice Film Festival in September. It’s no surprise Stewart selected Chanel for both events, as she’s been an ambassador for the brand for eight years. Kristen...
Spencer ★★★☆☆ SPENCER is very much a tale of two halves. On one hand it deserves a standing ovation for Kirsten Stewart's portrayal of the late Princess with her near perfect execution of her accent and mannerisms - a seriously impressive turn around for someone who starred in a toe-curing remake of Charlie's Angels just 24 months ago. 1Kirsten Stewart as the late Princess DianaCredit: PA The other is the questionable warping of history - seemingly intent on erasing any possible positive influence or support any member of the royal family offered the troubled Princess of Wales and presenting it as fact. While there is no denying Diana was miserable and seriously struggled, Spencer is at times an uncomfortably insensitive film riddled with holes and mistruths which throws unnecessary new mud at a British icon. Graphic scenes depicting her binge eating before kneeling over the toilet and vomiting it back up give an unnecessarily gritty account of Diana's battle with bulimia. Similarly, grabbing a pair of wire cutters before lancing herself in shot feels exploitative and voyeuristic - especially...
If Prince Harry isn't writing his resignation letter to Netflix at this very moment after the international release of the revolting Diana musical then he is a man devoid of morals. For years the Duke of Sussex has waged war against any media organisation which, in his eyes, demeans the memory of his late mother or exploits and misinterprets her life for commercial gain. Over the weekend his new US paymasters did exactly that in the most outrageous fashion. Diana: The Musical is the most offensive and degrading portrayal of the late Princess of Wales in fiction since her death in 1997 – and in terms of accuracy it makes that other historically-derided Netflix series The Crown look like a royal encyclopaedia of truth. The lies about Di's life are egregious – from suggesting she used HIV patients for publicity to attacking Margaret Thatcher for her politics. But at least she isn't around to see such nonsense broadcast to millions around the world. If Prince Harry isn't writing his resignation letter to Netflix at this very moment after the international...

LONDON (AP) — London finally honored the late Princess Diana Wednesday with a blue plaque at the place she called home in the two years before she married Prince Charles and her life in the goldfish bowl began. For Diana, 60 Coleherne Court, an apartment near London’s fashionable King’s Road, was the start of a new adventure. Settling in the capital on reaching her 18th birthday, Diana shared the apartment with a number of friends from 1979 to 1981. It was there that she first started to court Charles. One of her roommates then, Virginia Clarke, helped unveil the English Heritage plaque during Wednesday’s ceremony. “Those were happy days for all of us and the flat was always full of laughter,” she said. “Diana went off to become so much to so many. It’s wonderful that her legacy will be remembered in this way.” According to Andrew Morton’s 1992 best-selling book “Diana, In Her Own Words,” Diana described her years at the property as “the happiest time” of her life. A newly unearthed video shows the Queen giggling as she made small talk and chatted in French with world leaders at the G7 summit in 1991.  A clip from the 1992 BBC documentary 'Elizabeth R' showing members of the royal family at a drinks reception at Buckingham Palace has gone viral after it was shared online. In the short video,  the Queen, along with Prince Charles, then 43, and Princess Diana, then 30, can be seen making small talk with G-7 leaders in 1991, in the run-up to the Gulf War. In one fascinating moment, the monarch, then 65, could be seen speaking to Secretary of State James Baker and former Prime Minister Ted Heath, who spoke of visiting Saddam Hussein in Baghdad. Princess Diana was not 'fully aware' of the 'machine' she was entering when she joined the Royal Family, a close friend has claimed.  Dr James Colthurst, then a medical student, first met Diana while she was on a skiing trip in Val Claret in France aged 17, when he was asked to assess her twisted ankle.  He went on to have a close friendship with Diana, who he described as being 'fun,' 'bright' and 'mischievous,' and was the go-between who ferried tapes of the late royal's confessions to author Andrew Morton for his blockbusting book of revelations, Diana: Her True Story. A few years after their meeting, a 20-year-old Diana tied the knot to Prince Charles and quickly became one of the most high profile women in the world. Writing in The Telegraph, Dr Colthurst recalled seeing the pressure she faced and penned: 'I felt, when she joined the Royal family, she may not have been fully aware of the machine she was in.
